Chi Colleges

[edit]

I was just blindly adding the template to all colleges in the template. Fix the template as necessary based on your better understanding. TonyTheTiger (talk/cont/bio) 16:50, 23 April 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Welcome

[edit]

Thanks for the welcome, and about the "Experiment" it wasn't one, i made it then was going to go back and fill in data after assuring myself that it had worked, it didn't work out that way I got side tracked but it's all fixed now I hope I didn't break a rule in doing so.--Pinkanator 14:16, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks I'll get on it today, but the host of the show posted that 600 listeners is up there for most podcasts.--Pinkanator 14:26, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Stephen Colbert FAC

[edit]

I don't bite, my friend. And my "assault" was not a personal one. I never make personal attacks. But in FAC there are two principles that no nominator should violate:

  1. FAC reviews are made for a serious reason. When a highly esteemed reviewer gives you some instructions, you take them seriously and you try to further improve the article. At least you give some answer! Otherwise, what's the purpose of the review? Did you do that? Answer: No.
  2. During FAC you try to address the concerns of the evaluators and you strive to turn the objections into supports. Did you do that? Were you active during FAC? Did you give some answers to any of the comments? Answer: No.

I'd give my opinion privately to you in your talk page, if the whole procedure was private. But since you went to FAC the procedure was official and I had to give an official answer and comment what I regarded as wrong.

Just notice what I said. In the first place I had no intention to object. And you'll notice that in FAC I donot object in general, but I prefer to comment or suggest, when I don't like something. But when I saw that my suggestions were already suggested and you did nothing, I had a huge question: Why? Why? Why? You had the chance to fix the deficiencies and you did nothing. Why? During the FAC you also had the chance to fix these things and again you did nothing. Why? You could just fix these things and then I'd have no choice but to change my vote. But you did not even give me this chance.

I hope that you'll retry to improve this article and to re-send it to FAC. But this tim, just do the right things: Check FA criteria, ask a peer-review and take seriously its remarks and then be active during FAC. Don's disappear!

I'm sorry if I made you feel bad, but this was not my intention. I have nothing personal with you. But some rules and procedures should be respected. Not for the shake of the procedures, but for the shake of the Wikipedians who are eager to offer their help and assistance. Cheers!--Yannismarou 20:05, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am creating a page for a website that I own, However I keep getting speedy deletion notices. Could make sure that It is not deleted. and how can I get the notice off?

Stephen Colbert FAC

[edit]

I'm sorry my comment on Stephen Colbert FAC you took personally. I was not criticing your work on wikipedia but that one decision: not responding to peer review comments. It's like if someone curses and some grandpa says "watch your language", his not criticing you as a whole but just your action. Anyway, I'm sorry again you took it personally and I guess so did I. - Tutmosis 20:41, 14 October 2006 (UTC) [reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Courierpress.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Courierpress.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. speedy delete request

[edit]

I have put the above template on the article Splice junction sites, which you previously edited (you placed a wikify template there). If you are able to expand the article you may wish to place {{hangon}} template there. Cheers. LessHeard vanU 20:24, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article does not even begin to make it clear, which is why I tagged it. Thanks for your response, anyway. Cheers. LessHeard vanU 21:12, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Page protection

[edit]

Do you know how we can protect the Alcoholics Anonymous page from anonymous edits? This is getting crazy! Mr Christopher 22:56, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've submitted a request of semi-protection. Hopefully they'll put it on soon.--Twintone 02:53, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Admin Review -- Geni

[edit]

I would like to list User:Geni for review of use of their admin privilages since they seem to be so quick to delete acceptable images. I need someone to second the motion. If I submit their name for review, will you second it?--Twintone 16:08, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Normally I would say that I don't know enough of the related history. However, in this case Geni is extremely clear about his view, he did not do as I had asked him to (review the inconsistency in his editing and the apparent conflict to instructions provided to conributors), and while I can't tell that it is incorrect, it does seem to be inconsistent. So, yes, I will second it, but with the note that I'm doing so due to the inconsistency. Aki Korhonen 16:33, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
FYI. There's an additional exchange on my talk page that you probably want to read. It directly affects this matter. The underlying question of unclear and nonsensical policy remains, but this is separate from the application of a single interpretation of them. It could very well be that Geni's interpretation might be the prevailing one, even though I would consider it narrow. I would propose to pursue this matter as a push for a two-tiered image policy, so that wiki-only or non-commercial-use-only images are clearly acceptable in the policy. Wikiproject Comedy/Comedians

Whatever it is ultimately called, are there any plans for making this? Because I'll certainly join when it is created. Gran2 14:56, 30 April 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Reply to your question

[edit]

Yes, Truth in Comedy was one, as determined by Checkuser. However, the community is well aware of that, and the account has already been blocked. There's no need to further inflame the situation by slapping templates all over the place. ArbCom has already reviewed the matter, if they thought the template was absolutely necessary, I'm quite sure they're capable of putting it back, or requesting that it be done.
