Thanks for experimenting with the page Chris Burke on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. --Nlu (talk) 22:33, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
Please do not simply replace Chris Burke with the content on the surfer. Whether the surfer is sufficiently notable is questionable, but even if he is notable enough, you should create a new page and have Chris Burke point to it (as it is being used as a disambiguation page). If you fail to abide by this, your next edit may be viewed as vandalism and be dealt with as such. --Nlu (talk) 01:32, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Wiki flowboarding.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Wiki flowboarding.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:WaveActionCover.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:WaveActionCover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 03:08, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:29WaveActionCover.jpg}
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:29WaveActionCover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Speedy deletion nomination of Task squid
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
A tag has been placed on Task squid, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of Task squid and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. roleplayer 16:38, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

[edit]The recent edit you made to Task squid has been reverted, as it removed all content from the page without explanation. Please do not do this, as it is considered vandalism; use the sandbox for testing. If you think the page should be deleted, see this page for instructions. Thank you. The article Task Squid has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Software with no assertion of notability.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 17:44, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of Task Squid
[edit]I have nominated Task Squid, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Task Squid. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. RandomTime 17:46, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
Your comment at the deletion discussion
[edit]You stated that the reason your article Task Squid should be kept is that Wikipedia has articles on similar products. I hate to bring you the bad news, but this is not a valid argument. Not considering that Wikipedia required all of its articles to be about subjects that have a minimum of notoriety. In one hypothetical case, two pieces of software could have the exact same features, the exact same functions, and the exact same bugs, yet one would be worthy of a Wikipedia article while the other would not.
You see, the make-or-break argument in the majority of deletion discussions is whether the subject meets our notability requirements, that is, whether it has been the topic of multiple non-trivial coverage in reliable third-party sources. Not deserves to be. Has already been. So your argument about similar products being covered by Wikipedia falls into the same category as a mom-and-pop street corner fast-food restaurant telling us that their joint should have a Wikipedia article given that there is one on McDonald's, and telling us it's because their food is at least of the same quality. Of course, such an argument would fall flat.
So, to save the article from deletion, what you need is to provide evidence that a large enough audience is already familiar with it, and the best way would be to find an independent review of Task Squid from a news source, magazine, webzine, etc. that is generally regarded as reliable and authoritative. If you can show a few positive reviews, the article will be kept. If you can only show negative reviews, the article will also be kept. If you are unable to show any reviews at all, then the article will be deleted.
The bottom line is, coverage by Wikipedia should reflect a notoriety that is already established, not help to build it. See our guidelines on notability. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 01:55, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
The article Flowboarding has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No sources, conflicted editing.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Guy (Help!) 21:14, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of The Darkroom
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Darkroom requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
