William Windsor needs help! | ||
I am trying to bring the article William Windsor (goat) up to good article status; as you previously helped, I wondered if you might have time to look at it again, and perhaps help improve it. All contributions welcome. Thank you for your time. Chzz ► 15:29, 1 April 2010 (UTC) (No, this is not an April Fool thing) |

Thanks for heads up about the added fields. I actually saw this earlier today as well. If MVP and Captain have been added for basketball, might as well add them for other sports, namely football, as well. I'm sure you agree.Jweiss11 (talk) 04:58, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of 2010 East–West Shrine Game
Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I am glad to be reviewing the article 2010 East–West Shrine Game you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. –Grondemar 18:23, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
- Note: I moved the article to 2010 East–West Shrine Game (with the endash) as that is the more appropriate title per WP:MOSDASH. –Grondemar 04:47, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
- The article 2010 East–West Shrine Game you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:2010 East–West Shrine Game for things which need to be addressed. –Grondemar 16:49, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

tx ...
I've opened discussion at the college basketball page. BTW -- I've re-read CRUFT just now far enough to realize that use of the phrase "implies that the content is unimportant and that the contributor's judgment of the topic's importance is clouded by fanaticism. Thus, use of this term may be regarded as pejorative, and when used in discussion about another editor's contributions, it can sometimes be regarded as uncivil". No doubt that was not your intent, of course.--Epeefleche (talk) 05:25, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Scheyer GA
Tx. I'll go for it after going for a more time-pressured GA. Aafia Siddiqui, who got 12K hits when she was convicted, will be sentenced May 6. I'm going to see if I can steer it through GA and FA in time for that (though it may not be possible -- depending how quickly people step up to do the reviews). I believe I have to wait till she is done (at lest w/the GA?) before submitting Scheyer.--Epeefleche (talk) 22:52, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
- Many tx. I've listed Scheyer now -- had though in the past I was told one could only submit one at a time. Tx for correcting that. Also -- Materialscientist told me I have to go through GA first ... is he wrong? Would love to get the Siddiqui article featured in time. Tx.--Epeefleche (talk) 23:12, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
why not a good idea?
I'm fairly certain I've been told (or read) that descriptive language after year headers (following a colon) was a good idea, when I was seeking GA status for a baseball article.--Epeefleche (talk) 04:31, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Just FYI, I've proposed moving this article to Montgomery Ward Company Complex. The Chicago Landmark Catalog House is only one part of the property listed on the NRHP. The body of the article, which was merged from User:LurkingInChicago's page, discusses the complex as a whole, not just the Catalog House. I think the merge you made back in 2007 should have gone the other way (ie, your article should have been merged into LurkingInChicago's which was broader in scope). You can discuss the proposed move here. Zagalejo^^^ 18:41, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Still don't understand...
My info on the Prairie District Neighborhood Watch may be self-published, but it is within the guidelines of policy, "Self-published and questionable sources as sources on themselves." If you want third party verification that we are legitimate, go to the discussions section of our Google Group and look at the statement of support from Alderman Fioretti's office.
This should not be a problem.

Why do you care? You hate my writing style anyway. College got in the way in the last 2 months or so. It'll be too late on May 11, but that's when my college semester ends. I have been trying to my head to be promoted to Cup judge for some time, and i have experience running one, because I took over my home project's one, and that's doing well. I hate having to do this to a regular editor who does have good article work. But if you continue referring to the hockey project as a mafia which is a huge personal attack on the editors of that project. I will have to report you to ANI since I am involved. Had I not been involved and saw your current WP:POINT arguments and personal attacks I would have blocked you. So please take this to heart and tone down your language. You are heading down a very negative road. -DJSasso (talk) 18:08, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking it to heart. It is appreciated. -DJSasso (talk) 18:21, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
- Honestly, I'm not even certain why you are so obsessed with this. The stance on these navboxes is abundantly clear, and I wish you would stop wasting everyone's time trying to push your viewpoint down everyone's throat. Though I did like how you called this a "controversy" when you went off spamming other projects because you aren't getting your way. One editor who wilfully refuses to get the point hardly represents a controversy. Resolute 19:56, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

WP:Hockey Navbox policy
I think your list is basically accurate. There are a couple of articles that could be listed in the columns, e.g. List of first overall NHL draft picks. The hockey editors seem solidly against the use of navboxes. While they may dislike it, hockey articles do look different than other sports and that may be should be thought about. I don't think they like your viewpoint at all and are pretty close-minded about it. Should it be brought up at WP:SPORT? It would have to be cross-posted across the various sports to get a cross-section of sports project editors. ʘ alaney2k ʘ (talk) 14:56, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
- I am no admin. I couldn't tell you if it goes against any policy. It will raise the ire of the hockey editors. I think they may have gone down this path before. It may be that without 90-100% consensus, the projects are left alone instead of a standard at a higher level up the topic chain. It's a topic to address at any rate. The hockey editors may have some useful points for the other projects too. After all, there are probably too many navboxes out there, specifically ones of a 'trivia' nature. ʘ alaney2k ʘ (talk) 16:03, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Congratulations to Hunter Kahn (submissions), our clear overall round winner, and to ThinkBlue (submissions) and Arsenikk (submissions), who were solidly second and third respectively. There were a good number of high scorers this round- competition was certainly tough! Round three begins tomorrow, but anything promoted after the end of round two is eligible for points. 16 contestants (eight pool leaders and eight wildcards) will progress to round four in two months- things are really starting to get competitive. Anything you worry may not receive the necessary attention before the end of the round (such as outstanding GA or FA nominations) is welcome at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, and please remember to continue offering reviews yourself where possible. As always, the judges are available to contact via email, IRC or their talk pages, and general discussion about the Cup is welcome on the WikiCup talk page.
Judge iMatthew has retired from Wikipedia, and we wish him the best. The competition has been ticking over well with minimal need for judge intervention, so thank you to everyone making that possible. A special thank you goes to participants Stone (submissions) and White Shadows (submissions) for their help in preparing for round three. Good luck everyone!
