"Emir" Talal Arslan

[edit]

Hi Tmaromeo. I reverted your recent move of Talal Arslan to "Emir Talal Arslan". Since Talal Arslan is not the sovereign of a country and Lebanon does not have a royal system, the prefix "Emir" appears to be a honorable title made out of deferential respect. At the end of the day, Arslan is a Lebanese politician even if he is the heir to a branch of the Banu Lakhm. In any case a couple of us discussed the issue at the talk page, although the discussion was not extensive and was too short to be more inclusive. If you would like to continue discussions on the issue, please start a new section at the article's talk page and do not move the article without reaching some sort of agreement or consensus. There might indeed be an exception for using an honorific title in the case of Talal Arslan that I'm not aware of, so I'm more than willing to discuss it. See WP:Honorifics, WP:Naming conventions (people) and WP:Naming conventions (royalty and nobility) for more info. --Al Ameer son (talk) 02:03, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

After you were informed by due Wikipedia procedure and courtesy by Al Ameer son about the move back to Talal Arslan with clear comments that said: "I've moved it back again for the third time and put a temporary block (one month) on new and unregistered users from moving the article." yet the same day, after a few hours, you reverted back to "Emir" Talal Arslan with some more ludicrous comments that don't hold water. Nobody holds the "right" to carry a princely title if he is not a prince on a principality. These are just clan traditions within certain communities and don't hold any legal connotations. Continue on holding to your family values inside your clan. But here, please abide by Wikipedia editing standards and article naming rules. Their "emir" and "emira" titles are being mentioned within text as a matter of "courtesy" and "accomodation" for people like you. But don't take this as your "carte blanche" to edit unilaterally all Arslan pages without concensus and to the detriment of all other editors who have valid concerns. Your insistence on enforcing your Arslan family doctrines on Wikipedia as if you hold property to the Arslan pages makes you a biased "insider" and a close "related party" whose editing manner should be very cautious and not excessive. Wikipedia Arslan pages are not part of your "principality". I will continue due process requesting your suspension for a year. In my 5 years of editing, I have never done this, but you force me to take this route for my first time ever. So sad, but I will. You only have to blame yourself for the behaviour you have displayed despite being cautioned about due Wikipedia procedures and rules werldwayd (talk) 09:18, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your deletions of contributions from talk pages is unacceptable and is vandalism

[edit]

I had put notices on talk pages of Talk:Princess Zeina Talal Arslan to request a move which you deleted by this entry http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Princess_Zeina_Talal_Arslan&diff=498907588&oldid=498478108 . As deleting talk page content is considered vandalism, and you removing comments by other editors and individual contributors from talk pages to prevent discussion of naming policies to be applied by Wikipedia, I am reporting you and asking for your suspension from all Arslan-related pages as you are clearly a "related party" and biased at that. We have rules on how related parties should not edit extensively and even if they do, that they do so with utmost cautious and abide by concensus and other opinions. Although I am not opposed 100% to related parties editing pages they are related to, so I gave you the benefit of the doubt for some time, now I have changed my mind after seeing the way you are dealing wuth the pages outside concensus and will report your actions on this page and all other Arslan family related pages. In Wikipedia we don't use honorifics for individuals who do not have a principality to govern which is the absolute case with the Arslan family. Regardless of what you think is right, we have a right of due process in Wikipedia including defined naming rules. Nobody owns any pages. Related parties close to the family should not edit extensively on such pages and exclusively to the detriment of others. You will be very soon informed of the process that I am starting against you about your recent unilateral edits despite Wikipedia rules and without waiting for concensus or decision of the requests I or other colleagues have made werldwayd (talk) 08:02, 25 June 2012 (UTC) werldwayd (talk) 16:04, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
