User talk:Tiffany.ngan
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Tiffany.ngan, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Draft:Don A. Moore, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! Robert McClenon (talk) 00:28, 16 June 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for your feedback! I just want to clarify the conflict of interest procedures; I am not specifically being paid to contribute to this Wikipedia draft. I am a research assistant being paid and this is one of my jobs, but if that counts as a conflict then I can disclose that information on the page if needed. Let me know! Tiffany.ngan (talk) 18:51, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
- The conflict-of-interest policy is written rather broadly, so, yes, your situation is one that requires disclosure. Fortunately, you can write a statement in your own words, similar to what you've written here, put it on your user page (which you still have to create), and that will almost certainly be deemed sufficient. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 19:06, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Multiple accounts
[edit]Hello, Tiffany.ngan, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Kargar1234 (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. -- RoySmith (talk) 18:09, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

I would like some further clarification on writing in a neutral tone; I don't see anything particularly not neutral about the way the article is worded so I would like some guidance as to how to edit it appropriately! Tiffany.ngan (talk) 19:39, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- I'm guessing that it was seen as promotional in the sense that it has, in Wikipedia's voice, pointed to a bunch of Moore's work without explaining anything about why it is significant, as noted by an independent reporter. You're trying to assemble evidence of notability and we humble Wikipedia editors cannot do that through our own research.
Also note that the Biography and Education sections do not include the required in-line citations to sources for the information contained in them. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 20:43, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
