Stanwell Tops
[edit]G'day and nice work on Stanwell tops - you can also upload photos to wikimedia commons if you want to illustrate the article. Also full stops go before the references - also see template I've used to format references. Any questions, just ask. (I've stayed at The Tops and visited Symbio park etc.) Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 01:09, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for that! And thanks for fixing the 'see also' lines. I grew up in Stanwell Tops. My Aunty is going to help me get the full story on the development sagas that have been going on and on since forever there - there was a lot I had to leave out because I couldn't back it up. The other major feature is a Hanging Swamp, and I think she has info on that too. I've tried to keep the entry about Stanwell Tops not just the whole Helensburgh district. As for photos, I tried to upload but it says I have to wait the 4 days waiting period. Do you know where I can get open source maps? Or is it possible to embed google maps? TheGreatSpaces (talk) 11:28, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, the hanging swamp - been away for a few days. if you look on [1], which is the image repository for wikipedia in the category of maps, you might find something. Casliber (talk · contribs) 07:48, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi I was wondering how I can make the search term 'Stanwell Tops' divert automatically to 'Stanwell Tops, New South Wales'. At present when one searches for 'Stanwell Tops' one is taken to the list of search results. I assume there is some way to create a page the purpose of which is to divert to the full page, I just don't know how to do it. Once I know how, I will be able to do the same thing elsewhere (where appropriate).
Thanks! :) TheGreatSpaces (talk) 23:32, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, it's pretty easy. What you want is called a Redirect. You create an article named Stanwell Tops, but whose only content is a single line
#REDIRECT [[Stanwell Tops, New South Wales]]
- That's it! Let me know if you have any questions. --j⚛e deckertalk 23:41, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
Wow thank youm that's so easy! Cheers TheGreatSpaces (talk) 00:56, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
- dang, I should have thought of that before - oh well, now you know ;) Casliber (talk · contribs) 00:59, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
I am going to get photos for this page; I just need totally free ones! Basically I am going to take photos next time I'm there, or get my aunty to send me some. The issue for me was getting an image that was definitely about Stanwell Tops, not just a lovely view of Stanwell Park taken from Stanwell Tops! I might show Kelly's Falls or another waterfall, and I will also get a photo of the Wishing Tree, which is a big tree that was a part of the 'Pleasure Park', but which became a beloved local icon. Yes, suburban white people also mysticise their surroundings, haha. TheGreatSpaces (talk) 01:36, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
