Peer Review - Condensation Reaction
[edit]Editing: Notes bolded in parentheses Monosaccharides are the basic unit of the carbohydrates and blocks(combine?condense? Blocks doesn't make sense) to build the (don't capitalize here, not proper noun) Oligosaccharides and Polysaccharides. Through the(replace with 'a', or a name) condensation reaction, (don't capitalize, check spelling, whole clause might be redundant, you already mentioned that monosaccharides combine to make larger sugars) Monosaccarides increase the weight of molecules and reach higher degree of polymerization, while losing water molecules. This is the(an) acid-catalyzed reaction and(that) produce(s) heavier carbohydrates
Peer Review: I don't know how useful it is to write out just short blurbs on each reaction when most of the examples you'd be giving probably already have larger articles on Wikipedia, it might be better just to link to those, so interested readers can read more if they want to but won't distract from the rest of the content. Some ideas for additional content/sections could be: history, commonalities in procedure, traits of condensation that make it ideal for polymerization, or the similarities that arise in mechanism and thermodynamics of condensation reactions.
