Honkai: Star Rail's inclusion of a pejorative for a race

[edit]

Hello, thank you for referring to my edit as good faith and giving benefit of the doubt and letting me know that TikTok doesnt count as a source. However, the translation still applies as the planet is officially referred to as 茨冈尼亚 . 茨冈 still reads as the loanword . without the TikTok here I believe the mention of this should still appear on the page, as the casual use of a pejorative with no explanation provided by the producers is odd. Can I suggest amending a questionable content tab on the Honkai: Star Rail page, and putting this information down there? GhoulishLantern (talk) 00:04, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

While I'm glad you take time to teach me some Chinese knowledge (really appreciate it!), the point is that, as stated on WP:RS, "Wikipedia articles should be based on reliable, published sources... If no reliable sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article on it." That is, if a reliable source (often, articles from credible gaming news reporters) states an idea, a statement, a point of view, etc. on this topic, we can cover them faithfully. If no reliable source can be found on the topic (often referred to as "original research"), then it shall not be covered on Wikipedia -- otherwise, Wikipedia would be no difference to a conspiracy warehouse like Twitter. Suggestion: You could focus on finding reliable sources listed on WP:VG/S, and see if they happen to have covered this topic. If so, cite them instead of TikTok. thank you, I'll wait until a reliable source can properly write about it. I appreciate your clarification! GhoulishLantern (talk) 15:46, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
