Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Street scene.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Street scene.jpg.jpg. The copy called Image:Street scene.jpg.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 21:47, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of T-Vice

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on T-Vice, by Wikidan829, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because T-Vice seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting T-Vice, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate T-Vice itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 23:28, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article you created at Spyder00Boi was listed for deletion as An article about a real person that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject, criterion 7 in the criteria for speedy deletion, Articles section. Since it appears to be about you I've moved it to your user space instead, which was probably what you intended in the first place (a common mistake among newcomers!).

If you really did mean to create an article about yourself please be aware that this is often considered a bad idea, even if you do meet the guidelines for inclusion of biographies.

I know Wikipedia can be confusing for new editors, so you are welcome to ask for help at the help desk or on my talk page. Ocatecir Talk 23:36, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Rob James Washington.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Rob James Washington.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Unspecified source for Image:Pics 0003.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Pics 0003.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:04, 9 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Edward 17:04, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Latin Canadian"

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I edited the Latino Canadian article alot in the past two months, and now you've completely turned it into a different article! I'm not "mad" at you for making these changes, but there already is a Haitian Canadians article. Also, I dont know if Haitian people can be described as "Latin". If there's going to be a page about "Latin" Canadians, then you should at least keep the old one and create a new one. Blackjays1 01:45, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Quisqueya Christian School, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Edokter (Talk) 22:14, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"of African descent"

[edit]

The designation "of African descent" is really terribly general; it could include Lybian, Egyptian, Sudanese and Ethiopean provenance. Clearly, the vast majority of these slaves came from the Atlantic slave trade, which took its slaves predominantly from the Slave Coast and the Gold Coast.  --Lambiam 05:43, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Spyder00Boi. This seems to be a good picture of Nathalie Handal, but you'll need to give a better explanation of the source and the licensing than 'I believe the picture can be used.' Otherwise the image authorities will probably delete it. It is not unheard of for a subject to voluntarily release an image to us. See WP:COPYREQ for how to request permission. Speedy deletion of Image:Nathalie handal.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Nathalie handal.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Orphaned non-free image (Image:Rob rey.jpg)

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:Rob rey.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 01:20, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Spyder00Boi! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 139 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Wikipedia Stories

[edit]

Hi Spyder00Boi,

My name is Victor and I'm a storyteller at the Wikimedia Foundation in San Francisco. I've been an editor since 2005, way before I stared at the foundation. I'm looking for awesome people to tell their personal stories about Wikipedia.

I saw that you write about Haiti and the Caribbean, I wonder if you would be interested in speaking with me about your experiences with Wikipedia? Let me know if you are interested!

Victor Victor Grigas (talk) 02:26, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You are invited to join WikiProject Haiti, an outreach effort which aims to support development of Haiti related articles in Wikipedia. We thought you might be interested, and hope that you will join us. If you'd like to join, please sign up here. L'union fait la force! Thanks!

Hi Spyder00Boi, I saw your participation in the "WikiProject Caribbean" with interests in Haiti and thought I'd extend the invite to a completely revamped WikiProject Haiti. Cheers! Savvyjack23 (talk) 05:22, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
