Context
Hi. Can you please tell me which part is confusing in this article? I noticed that you tagged many articles as confusing and I can't figure out what exactly is confusing. answer here. You don't need to add me a talkback, I'll check your talk page. Thanks, Magioladitis (talk) 00:47, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- Certainly, I don't know whether you know about rugby league, but it is generally the line "i.e. number 8 or 10" (from the article you referenced), which to people outside the knowledge of sport would be confusing. Clarity would be needed to making it understandable to all readers. Also the infoboxes are full of ≤ and ≥ signs, making it confusing. The Windler talk 00:54, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the answer. IMO in order to solve a context problem a note in the talk page is always helpful. I don't know many things about rugby league, this is true. -- Magioladitis (talk) 01:05, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
Prod fix
I've undone the fix you requested to {{prod}} and {{dated prod}} because it was breaking other templates. I think I can figure out a way to make the fix work w/o breaking the other templates, but it could be a few days. --Philosopher Let us reason together. 02:16, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you, for your time. The Windler talk 02:51, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
rugby guidelines
I've removed 1 or 2 of your prods, because having played at all on a highest level professional team meets the general guidelines for athletes, and RUGBY is just an essay--and one I think is rather contradictory between the different parts. But the place to test this is AfD, & i cannot predict how the decision will go. And see WP:BEFORE You should try first to look for sources, & if not found, only then nominate for deletion--maybe some of these minor players do have sources. DGG (talk) 18:47, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Images
Am I right in thinking that these size images need go in the body of an article (where one can reduce the pix size ?). When I load Craig Gower into his Infobox image spot I get a monstrous pic that I can't reduce. (See 18:00 revision on 17May09). Have I missed a step ? -Sticks66 08:10, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- Odd, the ones I've added worked fine (eg Micheal Luck) Mattlore (talk) 08:14, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, on investigation it is because Craig Gower has a rugby union infobox. Btw, while I'm positing on your talk page - Great work on uploading the images Joel! Mattlore (talk) 08:17, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Image requests
Hi Joel -
I don't know how to go about the Flickr permission checks - could you explain it to me? I found a great Wests Tigers set. Cheers, florrie 15:29, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- On WT:RL, I said I found a great source. Well most of paddynapper's rugby league pictures are realeased under a free CC-BY-SA licence including that set. I was getting around to it, I was just doing the smaller sets first.
If you want to help uploading the images:
- may I suggest getting an account at Commons
- May I then suggest you use a tool Flickr2Commons
- Which means you need a TUSC thingo
- When you name your images, may I suggest "NAME (DATE).jpg" title (the date is in the right hand corner)
- Also you should add some categories, just to avoid messages on your talk pages, all I've been adding is Category:Rugby league players, and removing the rest
- And list them on the Project page so I (or others) dont re-upload them. (All I do, is go to User contributions and because Ive add that category to them all, I just copy and paste each one to the talk page and save it)
I've got into a little routine, but appreciate help, because there are alot of pictures.
If you want to help asking users to change their licence on Flickr, eg like I did to paddynapper.
- Create a Flickr (Yahoo) account
- Find an image, go to the uploader link in the corner of the image, click on Profile under the uploaders bolded name. Then click send FlickrMail
- You practically need them to change the licence on the actual picture page, because its no good telling them you can use it, because FlickrMail is unverifable by Wikipedia
- You can use User:SpecialWindler/Flickr/Generic/Rugby league which is a generic message I have created
- And again use Flickr2Commons, and place them on Commons.
The Windler talk 22:13, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- I have now completed the Wests Tigers set you mentioned, other than the ones Ive uploaded, there are games on Wests Magpies, Wests Tigers U/20, Balmain that I didn't upload (except in players I know of) The Windler talk 07:08, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- Many thanks for the explanation and the uploads! I've been crook and offline otherwise I'd have had a go at it myself. It does sound involved but worth doing if it means we can have player images. Thanks again, florrie 13:23, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Congratulations!
I just saw Karmichael Hunt on the Main Page - congrats! I'm glad I could at least have been a small part of your project to improve it, way back when. Fishal (talk) 02:25, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
?TennisAuthority?
Hello, I am wondering what you meant by nowrap? By the way, did you like what I did with putting the full name? TennisAuthority 19:44, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- There is a response at Template talk:Infobox Tennis biography#Abbreviation of Australian Open, could you possibly reply to my other comment below that as well. The Windler talk 21:58, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

GA reassessment of Live and Let Die (novel)
I am conducting a review of this article as part of the GA Sweeps process. There are several concerns which have been left at Talk:Live_and_Let_Die_(novel)/GA1, which need to be addressed if the article is to retain GA status. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 19:44, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, I may get to it, otherwise, I doubt anyone else will get to it. The Windler talk 21:59, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- No, I couldn't be bothered. The Windler talk 05:59, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
New broncos jersey
Hey mate, was wondering if you can make the special livestrong broncos jersey they will be wearing against the warriors in a fortnight.
here's the link to the jersey.

Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcsweeney (talk • contribs) 13:07, 24 June 2009
- Please sign your comments, I don't really like making jerseys, but this should be easy, but its a one-off, hardly significant to the actual team. Its for charity, so I don't see it would be used other than Brisbane Broncos 2009, I might though. The Windler talk 10:58, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Infobox for rugby league club seasons
Is there any template on Wikipedia for an infobox on season articles for specific clubs, like there is in the soccer WikiProject (see Manchester United F.C. season 2008-09)? I was looking through the Wigan Warriors 2009 article and it reads more like a page from a fansite then an encyclopaedia. If there was an infobox with detailed prose to accompany, I think it would be better. I can make such a template, but is there any need for one in your opinion? GW(talk) 10:41, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, I agree, but make them neat, like the one on the Man United article. Don't make it rough like 2009 Rugby League State of Origin series. Perhaps also alert WP:RL, to see what others think. The Windler talk 11:07, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Tennis images
I noticed your message [1] on Tennis Wikiproject. Additional images are always useful in illustrating the players and tournaments. If you do upload them over at Commons, you can drop me a message on my talk page here or on Commons and I'll make sure that the images are appropriately utilized. Also, if you feel that uploading such a large quantity of images is a hassle, I can upload them from the Flickr, following the necessary licensing. LeaveSleaves 19:45, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thankyou, I wrongly forgot, that other people would be able to upload images, it just came from another project I am involved with. That would be appreciated if you could upload some of them. All images in the tennis set are CC-AT-SA licenced, therefore all free. As tennis is a world sport, common in other languages, Commons would be the appropriate place. The Windler talk 04:49, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Happy birthday!
Warriors jerseys
Hey, I came over to make a couple of jersey requests but I see that you seem to be sick of them. Still I figure I'll note them, but they are pretty minor so don't bother if you're not in the mood.
- Firstly, regarding the File:New Zealand Warriors heritage jersey 2009.svg, it seems that the main colour was a really dark blue, rather than a black as your image has.[2][3][4]
- Secondly, I was wondering if you could make a version of the Warriors 1995-6 away jersey, basically File:New Zealand home jersey 1995.svg with the White & Blue reversed on the jersey.([5] best pic I could find sorry)
As I said before, don't bother if you don't have the time - cheers for all the work you put into doing the previous ones, you really added a lot of colour to WP:RL. Mattlore (talk) 03:50, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, I will do it later, I'm a bit off at the moment, but I will get around to them. It is comparatively easy to change colours, The Windler talk 22:07, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- Cheers, I was going to have a crack at it myself but all I have on this computer is paint and its not the best. Mattlore (talk) 23:30, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- Awesome, Thank You. Mattlore (talk) 00:31, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Member list for Wikiproject RL
Howdy. I just noticed that I am on the member list for the WikiProject Rugby League twice. I was going to just remove the second entry, but then I would have to re-number every member after that on the list. Is there any way that you can make a bot do that or something, cause that's just a little more tedious than I am interested in.
Speaking of tedious, I made pages for the United Arab Emirates national rugby league team, Belgium national rugby league team and totally re-did Emirates Rugby League. I mention this because I really have no idea how WikiProjects work and how the review system works. I reckon you do. Thanks.
Rugbyhelp (talk) 04:21, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
- I might get around to fix it. I doubt a bot will fix a very minor one-off problem. If you want a review, try WP:PR or Wikipedia:WikiProject Rugby league/Peer review, thanks The Windler talk 22:06, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Just to inform you, I put this page up for reassessment on the ProjectRL page. However, I did this some days ago and noticed that the page that was on the list before the Saints article was done in the same day. I am just curious why the page has not been reviewed by yourself or anyone else in such time.
Please do not think that I am in anyway pestering you into doing something you have no time for, I was simply asking out of curiosity and out of the fact that you are a respected editor in rugby league.
Thanks for your time,
Ymron (talk) 10:56, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I have been very busy and ill over the past month and have been unable to keep up with most of the going ons of the Project. I have been occasionally looking through the Project talk page but have forgot about the other sections, but I will get around to do it if no-one else does, hopefully before the end of the week. The Windler talk 22:04, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, God, sorry mate. Don't rush yourself into doing it, it doesn't matter that much. Cheers for your commitment anyway.
Thanks again,
Ymron (talk) 07:51, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- I have completed my assessment, and have decided to keep it as Start-class. I have also left some comments here. Thanks, The Windler talk 23:37, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, feels like a bit of a waste of time on my behalf but cheers.
Thanks for your input,
Ymron (talk) 20:33, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- May I suggest moving alot of the statistics to a new article like St Helens RLFC Records or St Helens RLFC Statistics or something to the like. The tables are valuable, but not on the main article. The Windler talk 22:42, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- As luck would have it, I have started a statistics page on a sub-page from my user page. You can view it here. So I will get round to finishing that. Should all of the tables be moved?
Thanks a lot,
Ymron (talk) 07:51, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
RL new articles bot
Hi, I've added some rules to the bot (see User:AlexNewArtBot/RugbyLeague). Because it's the first time I've tried editing a bot and there have been no changes to it since you made it I thought I'd give you a heads up. I don't want to break it! I think the points and/or threshold might need tweaking now to get the right balance. I've kept it reasonably simple, I've just tried to cater for RL heritage a bit more because I created 1897-98 Northern Rugby Football Union season on 6 July and it didn't show up in the new articles list for that date. LunarLander // talk // 16:06, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- OK, thanks The Windler talk 02:00, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi
I just wanted to know where you go the NRL jersey picks from? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.169.205.56 (talk) 05:03, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
