West Ranch High School

[edit]

Hello Sparrowman980,

I just wanted to break the ice to let you know I am not trying to win this war. I am just trying to make it right. Besides the website, what other sources are there to back your position?

I have not found one thing that indicates that West Ranch is in Stevenson Ranch except their website. I believe this to be incorrect. How does West Ranch use a Stevenson Ranch city when they are surrounded by homes in Valencia, and they post office refers to them as Valencia?

I have resided and been employed in the area since 1983. What back ground do you have that allows you to over ride my research?

Thanks for you help and clarity Lasportsnut (talk) 22:46, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:DSCN12211.jpg

[edit]

File:DSCN12211.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:EurekaTower DSCN12211.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:EurekaTower DSCN12211.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 02:41, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:Img qa20 1944.jpg)

[edit]
⚠
Thanks for uploading File:Img qa20 1944.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 15:08, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As a member of the Aviation WikiProject or one of its subprojects, you may be interested in testing your skills in the Aviation Contest! I created this contest, not to pit editor against editor, but to promote article improvement and project participation and camraderie. Hopefully you will agree with its usefulness. Sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here. The first round of the contest may not start until September 1st-unless a large number of editors signup and are ready to compete immediately! Since this contest is just beginning, please give feedback here, or let me know what you think on my talkpage. - Trevor MacInnis contribs 05:21, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Img qa20 1944.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Img qa20 1944.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 08:18, 23 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 08:18, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sir or Madam,

Please note that the American Society for Nutrition holds copyright for the photo of E.V. McCollum posted at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Elmer_McCollum.jpg. Copyright for this photo does not expire until 2065, and this photo should not be listed as in the public domain until that time.

Wikipedia edit training on the Gold Coast

[edit]

I will be presenting a Wikipedia edit training session on the Gold Coast on Tuesday 25 June, as part of the partnership between Wikimedia Australia and the State Library of Queensland. 10+ new editors will be editing their first article at the session and past experience has shown it’s helpful if there can be at least 2 people present to assist with answering questions. No public speaking is required, just one-on-one assistance with new editors. Your name was mentioned as a possibility as it is believed you live in that region. If you are able to assist, please get in touch with me, preferably by email kerry.raymond@wikimedia.org.au Kerry (talk) 06:05, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity

[edit]

Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 23:36, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of landfills in the United States, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Coker. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Your edit to Australia

[edit]

Hello there

I reverted your edit because this issue has already been thoroughly discussed on Talk and the consensus was to retain the Royal Anthem as a footnote. Please fell free to open another discussion on the Talk page of the article if you wish. Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 05:03, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I will do as you have recommended and I have looked back in the archives some going back 15 years with many changes having had taken place since then. Sparrowman980 (talk) 05:47, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Once again I urge you to take this to Talk rather than trying to start an edit war. The issue was discussed only a few months ago and there was no consensus for this change. You are welcome to start another discussion on the topic but in the meantime please adhere to policy on consensus building. Thank you. Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 06:02, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
