Edit summaries

[edit]

Hi! Thanks for your recent contributions to California Historical Landmarks in Los Angeles County, California and other related pages! I really appreciate it, and I know others do as well. I did want to remind you - can you please make sure you use edit summaries? It saves time from having to check edits made by fellow Wikipedians - we all like to assume good faith, but, having an edit summary surely does help minimize that minute time it takes to click the edit history and review specific edits. Even something as simple as "adding an image". Thank you again for your contributions to Wikipedia!!! SarahStierch (talk) 15:27, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Rose Bowl (stadium), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ABC-TV. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

UCLA Bruins Football

I happened to notice that you edited the 2020 UCLA Bruins football season page quite a bit and I would like you to know that I am interested in working with you on this years edition of UCLA Bruins football. 2021-22 UCLA Women's Basketball

Please help me work on the UCLA women's basketball page for 2021-22. I had it posted for a few days but I left a lot off and it was removed for lack of reliable resources. Here is the link to it. Rose Parade Theme

[edit]

You got me curious, so I went looking. The original bad changes happened in mid-July 2020, from (no surprise) an anon. Apparently a different anon from our cancel-vandal, though; that one is based in upstate NY (all the same area, despite the changing IPs), and this one is in SoCal. So I'm assuming good faith, just ineptness, on this one. Floatjon (talk) 15:09, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, given that they keep changing IPs, an IP block would not be helpful, and I don't think the frequency has reached a point where we can request (I forget what it's called -- semi-protected?) the kind of block that only allows registered users to edit. I think we just have to grit our teeth and keep reverting until, worst case, January. Floatjon (talk) 21:28, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

OK, now they seem to be consistently using the same IP (and vandalizing other pages). Someone else has given them the welcome; I've given them the level one warning. That's apparently the first step to getting a block; the next step is escalating warnings, then once you're out of escalations, you can request a block. Floatjon (talk) 19:43, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

We'll see. At least this provides a speed bump, which might make our anon at least look at why he (or she) keeps getting reverted. And if things resume after the ban expires, we can always request a new ban that, presumably, will last longer. Wikipedia likes to take these things somewhat slowly; I count us relatively lucky to have gotten the ban at all, since it wasn't clear to me that the attacks were at the level that would have called for protection, according to the guidelines. Also -- if this gets our anon to register, then we have much, much better tools at our disposal (starting with escalating "disruptive editing" warnings). Also, this guy apparently has other targets as well, like Big Brother (the TV show), so maybe he'll just move on, especially if the message when they try to edit doesn't specify when the block ends (not sure, I'll go look now). I'm willing to wait and see what this does for us. Floatjon (talk) 07:55, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA vs Hawaii

[edit]

Hi. I thought it would be in my best interest to get in touch with you tonight about tomorrow’s game so that we are on the same page as far as edits are concerned. I can do pretty much anything. I would like to update the schedule once the game is over if that is okay with you. What would you like to be in charge of? Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 00:44, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine. I will input the referee when I get the info and input the running scores. There are couple of other users who like to do them too during the game. All depends on who's watching and available during the game. Socalphoto (talk) 00:58, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. I can also input weather and attendance at the games that I am at like today. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 18:32, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please check that I correctly added the scoring plays and the correct drive info (# of plays, # of yards, time). I think I inputed them correctly but I think it would be beneficial if you could please look as well. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 07:01, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: Looks like you got the info from the UCLA site? Some of the drive info not same as the official game book that I see. No drive was listed for the blocked kick TD, since not a UCLA drive. Should we change to match the game book info? Thanks for putting the plays in. The game had the 2nd lowest attendance in the Rose Bowl for a UCLA game. People are not coming back. LSU game should have more people. Socalphoto (talk) 15:05, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I got the drive information from ESPN and I also found a PDF file through uclabruins.com that had the same information. Where did you find the game book? I guess for the blocked punt drive I looked to last year for any defensive score and it looked like there was a drive summary listed. So my bad. Next time, I’ll go with 0 plays, 0 yards, 0:00. You’re welcome for putting the plays in. I can do it after the games are done for the foreseeable future. That’s sad about the attendance. And hopefully next week will be better. I appreciate your dedication to that page and I look forward to editing it with you in the future. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 18:20, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: Game day live stats are provided by StatBroadcast and will provide a game book at end of game [2]. Don't know where UCLA get their information/stats, with NCAA logo on it. Previously, we just leave the drive for the blocked TD blank. Socalphoto (talk) 18:52, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just looked at the game book and it looks like there are just a few minor things like some of the lengths of drives are off by a few seconds but the plays and yards all seem to be accurate. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 19:27, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: Right. Just don't understand why. The way I understand is all the stats are generated at the official scorer's room and transmitted out. There is a internal PA guy giving out the information to the press. Every play he will be announced. If I ever see one of them I will ask. Socalphoto (talk) 05:07, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. I see. I agree with you that the plays, yards, and time should all be the same considering it is all coming from the same place. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 05:20, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rankings College Football

[edit]

I just wanted to let you know what I was thinking. I added the LSU rank to our schedule because I feel like Sunday afternoon/evening (roughly 1 week before) is a good time to add it since the AP Poll usually comes out on Sunday mornings. Please let me know if you agree with me or not. Thanks.

@GoWarriors151718: Agree. I had forgotten that because only few games played, there are no new polls coming out today. The previous poster was correct to list LSU's ranking. Remember, it was UCLA help sending Ed Orgeron to LSU. Socalphoto (talk) 05:02, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. I remember that we helped get Orgeron ousted from USC. And oh well I guess. We all make mistakes. I think playing one week earlier threw both of us off. Anyway, thanks for clarifying the correct time to post the rankings next to the team names. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 05:18, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA Basketball 2021-22

[edit]

Hi. Just wanted to let you know that I removed one of the headers on the schedule section of this page. My reasoning is that it was misleading mainly cause there are non-conference games after Colorado and Washington in early December. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 19:12, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is it just me or does some of the stuff on the 2021-22 UCLA basketball team page seem excessive to you? Like the season highs section? Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 22:49, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Game statistics change

[edit]

I was thinking that maybe for the top rushers in each game that we can change the word "rushes" to "carries". What are your thoughts on this change? I can help change it for 2020 and 2021 UCLA football. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 10:29, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

USC vs UCLA 2020 Football

[edit]

Just wanted to let you know that I completed the input for UCLA vs USC from last season. Could you please check it to make sure it looks good please? Thanks. I got my numbers from ESPN in case you were wondering. I will continue to Stanford game once you check over the USC one. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 11:05, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: Couple of changes. Couple of drive time were off by seconds. A drive was off by 15 yards. Field was misspelled. Thanks.

Socalphoto (talk) 20:04, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think what happened for that USC drive was that there was a penalty on the first play of 15 yards so that is why espn said that it was only a 15 yard drive and not a 30 yard. The INT was brought back to UCLA 15 so that was point zero. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 20:33, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. Just finished adding the Stanford scoring plays to the 2020 UCLA football page. Could you please double check it for me? Thanks. I was wondering if I could take over adding the scoring plays for each UCLA game? For the games that I attend, I can do it shortly after I return from the game. For the ones that I don't attend, I can update them after each quarter. In exchange, I will give you full leadership of the running scores portion of the page. And lastly, I was thinking and I think we should consider changing the term rushes to carries for the running backs stats. Thanks. Side note: that was an extremely impressive win...don't you think? GoWarriors151718 (talk) 11:02, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: Sure, go ahead with the scoring plays. I don't like to do them. Time consuming and the need to like the players. Yes, carries is better, but other sites use rushes. LSU was a great win, I wish I was there. I was offered tickets with parking, didn't take advantage. Can you go ahead do a page on Greg Dulcich and Jerry Neuheisel? Both my friends. Thanks. So you be going to all home games, driving down from North? BTW rankings will be out Tuesday, Monday being holiday. They are usually out on Mondays. I may have said on Sunday. Socalphoto (talk) 04:36, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about the late response. Sure. I can start working on both those pages. Hopefully, we can work together on them to make sure that they are up to speed with the wikipedia guidelines and such. The atmosphere there was electric and Jarmond (AD) took the microphone and "ordered" the Bruin faithful to stand up for nearly the whole fourth quarter. Hopefully you will get more opportunities to go to games in the future. As to how I get to the games...I am fortunate enough to where my family can afford to fly to Burbank and drive from that area to Pasadena for most of them. And okay. Thanks for the heads up on the rankings. I made a change to the awards section of the page. I hope you like it. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 20:21, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA AP Poll

[edit]

Hey. May I be in charge of adding the ranking to the 2021 UCLA football season page (which I believe there will be one) tomorrow? I promise that I will get it up to date within the first 5 minutes after the AP Poll is released. Thanks GoWarriors151718 (talk) 07:25, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: OK. No problem. Socalphoto (talk) 17:43, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe for the rest of the season this could be the plan….you can be in charge of coaches poll and I can be in charge of the AP Poll. And then maybe take turns or something with the CFP poll. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 20:12, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Greg Dulcich

[edit]

Here is a link to what I started as far as the Greg Dulcich page goes. I chose to save it in a different form first so that way when I feel like it is up to par then we can move it to the main space. User:GoWarriors151718/Greg Dulcich. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 21:06, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

PAC-12 Football

[edit]

For the rest of the season: I will take the lead on ASU, and Cal pages and help with the UCLA page for the rest of the season. If you need assistance with any of the other teams....I can help. Sorry for being all over the map today. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 23:46, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just wondering if you saw this note that I left. I want to help you out so please give me some games to input data for please. Thanks. We can either choose teams now or we can go on a week to week basis later starting next weekend. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 06:35, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You can do all. I don't really care about other teams. I will help where needed if I have the time. Socalphoto (talk) 06:56, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Need some help...

[edit]

Could you please help me with Oregon State, and Utah games please? Thanks. I am going to stop editing those pages until the end of the game. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 04:38, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Enjoying the Stanford-SC game. Socalphoto (talk) 05:25, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Haha. Yeah. It is truly incredible how teams can change so much week to week. Stanford looked so bad last week and now they look impressive. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 05:32, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I will leave the rest of the Oregon State game to you. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 05:40, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Checking my work

[edit]

Hi again,

I just made some edits on the Washington State and Washington pages and I was wondering if you could please check my work when you have time. In other news, can you believe that we are up to 13 in the rankings? To me it is crazy that we jumped up high so fast. I guess that is what happens when you play well and beat a name brand team like LSU. Anyway, thanks again. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 10:14, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: Looks good. Some are off by seconds. Either way would be fine. Keep up the good work. L.A. Times had 2 articles on fire Helton now. And USC did just that the next day. Socalphoto (talk) 16:33, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. Sounds good. I copied most of the info from those statbroadcast links. That is crazy how they had two articles about that and they did it the next day. Anyway, going back to something you mentioned previously, who is your Cal coach friend? Hopefully UCLA won't have a letdown on Saturday. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 07:32, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: Cal offensive line coach Angus McClure is our friend. He was a long time assist. coach at UCLA. Let's have a great game against the Fresno State Bulldogs. Socalphoto (talk) 14:19, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. I remember him. He was a pretty good coach with us. And yes. Hopefully we will score early (and often), play well, and win by a comfortable margin. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 04:12, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What are your thoughts on having rankings in the header of game summaries...For example, Arizona State is at BYU tomorrow and on that page the header reads at #23 BYU. Do you think we should do that for all the ranked vs ranked games? I think we should. There are only a few games that have happened previously so I can change those. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 00:20, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Go for it. Say hello to our friends Bob Myers and Kevon Looney of the Golden State Warriors. Socalphoto (talk) 00:53, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@GoWarriors151718: If we put the rankings in the blue game summary header instead of the vs. header, then we can have our own ranking shown. Maybe better? Socalphoto (talk) 14:57, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think I am a little lost on what you are saying so how about you do that so I can see what exactly you are talking about. Most likely this seems like potentially better idea. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 18:31, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA vs Fresno State

[edit]

First off, awful result. The bye week clearly affected all involved in a bad way. And second, I will work on the first half scoring drives tonight (before I go to bed) and then finish the second half ones tomorrow (after I get back home). I promise to have everything added by Sunday night. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 08:56, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am sad. In less than 60 seconds, the Bruins can't stop them. Socalphoto (talk) 15:16, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Announcers

[edit]

@GoWarriors151718: UCLA messed me up, with wrong information on the TV and announcer's spelling. "Television (P12 Network): Chris Meyers and Mark Helfrich" and at another place "game to be televised by FS1." Socalphoto (talk) 04:09, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. That makes sense. Sorry for stealing your thunder on fixing the names. I trust you when it comes to adding announcers names. So far all the names that you have added have been spot on. Side question. What do you think our record will be at the end of the season? GoWarriors151718 (talk) 04:22, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA at Stanford

[edit]

First off, sorry for doubting you about the announcers for the game tomorrow. I think I just got a little bit surprised that it was posted before there was a game preview. I won’t doubt you again on that topic. Second, I was wondering if I could be in charge of the UCLA page for tomorrow’s game. You can be in charge of the Stanford one tomorrow. I think we can come up with a compromise to where we can split up the remaining UCLA games and the running line scores. For the games that you do the UCLA line scores for, I can do the opposition one and vice versa. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 06:51, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

All yours. Happy posting buddy. Will be at UCLA and will not be doing any posting in the late afternoon. Socalphoto (talk) 15:35, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. If you aren’t busy now…could you please help with the ORE-AZ game and the OSU-USC game please? Thanks. And what a game earlier today. It was great! I was there. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 03:40, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I will take the ORE-ARIZ game, and you can have the OSU and ASU games. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 05:23, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I won't touch the USC game for the rest of the night. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 05:31, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am crying for my Trojan friend. Not really. Socalphoto (talk) 05:33, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nice. This is a double whammy bad day for them cause of this game and cause of our win against Stanford. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 05:34, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The polls (UCLA)

[edit]

I was thinking that perhaps for the remainder of the season that I be in charge of adding the AP poll to the 2021 UCLA football page and you can be in charge of the coaches poll. What do you think of that? When the time comes we can discuss the CFP ranking (hopefully we will be relevant). Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 09:30, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA Basketball Schedule

[edit]

Hey. When you have time could you please double check the basketball schedule to make sure it looks accurate please? And second question...ESPN2 and ESPN are different (obviously)...so when I put them on the schedule for the first time, should they both have different links connected to them or should only one have a link. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 19:40, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: Looks OK. The rule is to put the TV link when first appear. Don't get into it with Bagumba, an administrator and former Daily Bruin sports editor, I believe. lol. He beat us to the Greg Dulcich article. Have fun at football game. I have tickets, but will skip it. Are you guys coming to any basketball games at Pauley? Should be a fun season. Saw Johnny Juzang and David Singleton the other day. Socalphoto (talk) 04:28, 30 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Okay on the TV rule. I had a hunch that the first time it (the channel) shows up that we add the link. And that is an interesting note on him. I did not know that. And I won't get into it with him. Yeah. I saw, but at least now it is there and we can add stuff to it when it comes out. And thanks. Hopefully we will play well especially since we have some feel good momentum on our side. Just curious...do you think that you will go to a game this season at the RB? That is cool that you saw JJ and Singleton a few days ago. As it currently stands, I will most likely be at Pauley for a few games this season. Hopefully, we will play as well as we are projected to and it will be a memorable one at the end of the day too. And I am sorry if you already told me this but are you just a fan of UCLA, a (young) alumni, or a current student? Last question, I added some PDF's to the 2021 UCLA football page (as you probably saw)...anyway, what do you think I should name them? I just used the name that are on the documents. If you think that they should be changed like to Box score or something then go ahead and change them. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 22:16, 30 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tomorrow, you are on your own. I am an old alum, maybe as old as your parents. We should have a great season in basketball (both the men and women teams.) Hope the water polo team can beat USC again. The Box score link is fine. Not sure if that many people are interested in them. Socalphoto (talk) 02:53, 2 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA vs Arizona State

[edit]

Sorry for the scoring update lag. As you can tell, the connections are bad. I will let you take the rest of the game and I will sign in for the post game things like the schedule and record updates at the end of the game. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 04:17, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA should not be in this position. Can't let them score like that. Socalphoto (talk) 04:22, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. It’s way too easy for them to score. At least they are making mistakes and we are making something out of them. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 04:23, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

From the official scoring: "Weather: sunny; Wind: 2 northWest; Temperature: 80" Socalphoto (talk) 04:34, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. "The Bruins were so out of sorts midway through the third quarter that cheerleaders ran along the sideline with giant flags spelling “UCLA” in celebration of a field goal that sailed wide left." And the crowd of 40,522 at the ASU game is not that good either. Socalphoto (talk) 22:41, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. Sorry for not responding sooner. I totally agree with your thoughts that we were really out of sorts. And yeah the celebration on the FG miss kind of summed up the game in a short sequence. You’re right. The crowd was pretty bad and it seemed like the opposition ones came ready to play and we came ready for a nap. Anyway…I just thought that I would let you know that I (in hindsight probably crazy) am here with my dad in Tucson. So I will be able to provide some assistance from the game itself if you would like. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 08:03, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA @ Arizona

[edit]

Hi again. Not sure if you got my message but I’m in Tucson right now so I can assist with today’s game on the UCLA/Arizona pages from the venue. Hopefully we will play well and win soundly. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 01:41, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good deal. Let's hope so. Enjoy the game. We need a big win. BTW Trojans down 10-35. Socalphoto (talk) 02:16, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Great win for Utah. And we played better in the second half. +14 in the category that counts the most. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 05:30, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A win is a win. But not that great, against a win-less team. Too many problems. Socalphoto (talk) 05:32, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. I agree. But at least we played better in the second half and we pulled away from them. We need to fix them if we want to beat Washington. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 00:47, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

2021-22 UCLA Women's Basketball Schedule

[edit]

Hey. I was able to update the schedule with the conference foes. I haven't really touched the non conference foes mainly because I know that the yearly pages are not always made for those teams and that I may input the games incorrectly. I was wondering if you could help me fill out the rest of the schedule. Thanks. BTW...what do you think our football team is going to do on Saturday? Do you think we can beat UW? Anyway...thanks again for the help. I think we are almost ready to submit this draft for review. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 00:46, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: not sure if you figured this out already or not but you can use the template cbb link to link to season articles that haven't been created yet. You can see an example of the template on the page 2021–22 Clemson Tigers women's basketball team, or any of the other ACC team pages. Cheers!Swimmer33 (talk) 19:56, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
For the women's games this week (the 2 USC games), I will let you update both of them if you have time (on the UCLA page). I will update the USC game log with the results. If you don't have time for any reason, please respond to this message so that I know. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 23:14, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Those games were polar opposites of each other. The women won handily over $C which is always fun. And then that men's game was extremely tense, and stressful. But, we are 2-0 today when the dust settles. What did you think of them? GoWarriors151718 (talk) 06:32, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA Football Rankings

[edit]

I decided to ping you in a message on someone else's board because he/she reverted my edits on the rankings grid but I know that the way I had it was correct before they changed it. It is mainly because I would like you to potentially chime in if it is necessary. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 04:02, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: That's an issue I have talked with Bagumba about before. He said to have a consensus on this, maybe with WikiProject College football. We should follow the 2021 NCAA Division I FBS football rankings format. Unfortunately not everybody is following the format, which making it confusing. Socalphoto (talk) 18:21, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. I think as long as there are conflicting formats (Wikipedia and AP Poll website), there will always be grids that are different from one another. At some point, it should at least be entertained that we switch the format to follow that of the AP Poll website. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 20:14, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA softball

[edit]

User:GoWarriors151718/2022 UCLA Bruins softball team

I started this draft. I don't know if you are interested in helping or not but I thought it would be good to have this page made since we are doing the guys equivalent (baseball). GoWarriors151718 (talk) 04:47, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead. I don't that much interest, but will help where I can. Socalphoto (talk) 01:50, 2 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA Basketball

[edit]

How about for basketball season since there are no game summaries and more games that we take turns updating the schedule potentially? For example, I could give you first crack to update the home games and I could get the first crack for road and neutral games? I just figured that we both have interest in updating that page so perhaps this is a solution. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 01:51, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: Why don't you do all home games and I do the away games when I am available. BTW Notes and information guide now available. Socalphoto (talk) 02:24, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the notice on the information guide. I will take a look at tonight. And that plan sounds good to me. Hopefully our team will play well this season and live up to the hype. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 04:13, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For the rest of the women’s season, I will follow the plan that we laid out for the men. I will take care of all the Pauley games and you can have first crack at road and neutral games. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 21:33, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. It's a shame that we weren't able to really put it together on the women's side. Then again, it seems like a lot of UCLA teams are dealing with problems (basketball (M/W), gymnastics, etc). Anyway, maybe we can still salvage this season by making a run and going deep into the WNIT or something. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 10:08, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Another win against $C. Nothing better than a 3-0 record against them. It was intense but at least we made the winning plays down the stretch. Hopefully Cronin can take a page out of Coach Close's playbook and actually coach us to a win against them this weekend. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 05:20, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cal football page 2021

[edit]

Doesn’t it seem excessive to have two notes in the area of the schedule that pretty much say the same exact thing? Please could you take a look and tell me. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 02:36, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: I agree, one note is enough explanation. Socalphoto (talk) 07:38, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think I am going to keep the bottom one because it is slightly more informative than the top and I will delete the top one. Could you please take a look at it later and tell me if you agree with my call? Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 03:21, 12 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@GoWarriors151718: Yes, the bottom one is better place. Big basketball game tomorrow. Now I need to decide which game to go to, men's basketball or women's soccer. Socalphoto (talk) 17:50, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. Yes. The million dollar question. It's great that you have that dilemma. It means that things are going well right now. Hopefully we will win both of them. Anyway, I made the change. I agree that the note at the bottom of the page looks better than having it at the top. Thanks for your input. I appreciate it. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 03:21, 12 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA vs USC

[edit]

Hey. I’m not at the game today so I can help out with one of either the UCLA page or the USC one. Which one would you like to have first crack at? GoWarriors151718 (talk) 20:02, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You do the UCLA page. Socalphoto (talk) 20:09, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@GoWarriors151718: What a game! Great to be a Bruin! Socalphoto (talk) 00:24, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for not helping out with the USC page earlier. And that game started out so ominously but luckily we found a way to play really well down the stretch and not only did we crush them but we scored 62! I am having trouble remembering the last time that we put up that many points. Today was a great day in the UCLA world. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 04:15, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I was wondering if you could please double check my work on the game summary for the USC game. Normally, I would be confident that I did it correctly but as you well know....there were lots of scoring drives in this game. Anyway, that was an incredible performance and we could really end this season strong at 9-4 potentially. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 08:14, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA vs Cal

[edit]

I’m going to sign off between now and the final kneel downs by one of the teams. As you can figure out, the connections are bad. Thanks for doing both team pages tonight. I appreciate it. As far as the game goes, we are playing respectably well for such an emotional game a week ago. Hopefully we can play well and win. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 05:19, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UCLA Bowl Game announcement

[edit]

Tomorrow as I am sure you know is the announcement of the bowl games. Do you want to update the season team page or do you want to try to update the 2021 edition of the bowl page? I figured that I could do the one that you don't choose. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 05:58, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You can do all since I will be at either the water polo or women's basketball game. Maybe both. Do believe UCLA will go to the Holiday Bowl. Socalphoto (talk) 06:09, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
List of UCLA Bruins bowl games needs a lot more work. Socalphoto (talk) 06:14, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I can work on the UCLA bowl game page. And I can add all the appropriate information for the bowl game to the season page. What did you have in mind with regards to what needs work on the UCLA bowl page? Is it just the info for this year's bowl? If there is more, please tell me. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 06:55, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I will let you update the 2021 LA Bowl page. I will focus on the 2021 Oregon State Beavers season page. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 00:45, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Holiday Bowl

[edit]

Hi. I just wanted to let you know that I will be away from my computer for the first half of tomorrow's game. This means that hopefully you can cover both the UCLA page and the 2021 Holiday Bowl page for that time. When I come back, I can focus on the UCLA football season page with the small exception of inputing the line score at the top of the Holiday Bowl page but that won't happen until the end of the game. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 22:40, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think I can see both sides of the argument. I see yours in that it was supposed to happen up until the day of the game. In addition there were teams selected and everything. And then I can see the other side in that there aren't many to any articles on unplayed football games. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 03:59, 31 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Las Vegas Bowl

[edit]

Hey. If you are online, I will let you have first crack with all the remaining scores on the Las Vegas Bowl 2021 page. I will focus on the 2021 Arizona State football page tonight. The only thing I would like to do is fill in the line score on the top of the Las Vegas Bowl page at the end of the game. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 03:53, 31 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Postponed games

[edit]

What is the protocol for postponed games getting rescheduled? Do we just change the date and then place them in date order? GoWarriors151718 (talk) 20:45, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also..Happy New Year to you. Hopefully 2022 will be better than 2021. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 20:46, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. That was quite a game at the RB. Nice and exciting. I just updated the schedule with the Jan. 5 game and Jan. 6 postponement. Can you please look just to make sure it looks okay? Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 20:09, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think it is necessary to have a note by the date of the Arizona State game with an explanation that it was moved from January 1? I looked at the Oregon road game from a season ago that was postponed and I didn't see a note explaining that it was moved from a different date. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 09:54, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for swiping the edits for tonight game on the UCLA page. As you can probably guess...it's hard to tell who is online and who isn't so I wasn't sure if you were going to do them or not. Anyway, we played okay (offensively good, defensively a little slow) and we still found a way to win so it's a good night. Our next game is going to be interesting to say the least. Will you be online after that game to do the update or would you like me to? GoWarriors151718 (talk) 06:12, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reconviene and recallibrate (UCLA Sports)

[edit]

How would you like to divide the remaining men's and women's basketball games? I would like to know since I thought I had first crack at the women's home games but clearly that isn't the case. Please respond ASAP or I will consider to just let you take it over because I don't know what needs to be edited. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 21:53, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Attendance=0 according to stat broadcast for today's game fyi. I think (unless you tell me otherwise) that I will focus on sourcing the things that are already written and I will not add any major information for the rest of the season. You can have first crack on updating the game log for the rest of this season unless you ask me to help out (which I would be willing). GoWarriors151718 (talk) 23:13, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry. I said, you can do all UCLA home games, and I will do away game's home teams. Because we can't be there at Pauley, I was listening to Dave Marcus and carried away. lol. As far as attendance, don't know why they didn't put the numbers down. We know families were allowed in. Normally the scanner gives out the numbers, then they add some in, like the spirit group, band members, staff, etc. Maybe too lazy to do so this time. Take care. Socalphoto (talk) 23:15, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I just wanted to apologize a little because I feel like the way I brought this up was not the best possible way that I could have. As far as the future regular season games go (if we have time) will be that I will get first crack at the home games and you can get first crack at the road games. I didn’t exactly make things less confusing by swiping some of the road games from you in the past few weekends. Anyway, I agree with you and the attendance. They must be lazy or something cause there were people at both games. I hope we are good again and I am willing to move past this if you are. I hope you take care as well. Should I bold the seed number (3 Michigan) and should I bold the winning score on each apparatus (49.275 for Team A, 49.250 for Team B). Please respond when you have time. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 20:45, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. Sounds good. I have input all the scores from today. I have two questions for you. 1. If you want to do score updates on this page with me tomorrow, could we please coordinate tonight so that way we are on the same page? and 2. Can you please double check my math to make sure the scores add up please? Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 00:18, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you have time tomorrow, could you please assist with the Norman, and Auburn RF’s please? If you don’t have time, then that’s okay too. And our team performed really well in Round 2. Hopefully we still have that momentum. Thanks for checking my work. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 06:04, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. I got my days mixed up. Don’t worry about gymnastics. I have a handle on it. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 10:42, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Enjoy. Will be at campus for WWP and Volleyball vs. U$C. Socalphoto (talk) 16:21, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That was bad especially since we were tied for 1st going into the last rotation. We still had a shot late and we nearly did the "impossible" after such a suspect start (Malabuyo near perfection on beam). I guess in the end...it was just not meant to be. Next year, however, there will be no excuses why we shouldn't make it to Fort Worth (Regional at Pauley). I think we are guaranteed a spot in that regional as long as we qualify for the tournament which we should. Anyway, could you please check my work? Thanks. I think that now that we are out of the tournament that I am going to let other people take care of the sessions in Fort Worth. Thanks for working on this page with me this season. It was fun collaborating with you again on a page like this. I am sure that there are many more to come in the not too distant future. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 10:32, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

2022 NCAA Men's Volleyball Tournament

[edit]

Please be very careful when submitting information, because some of it was inaccurate. I know that NCAA.com listed Long Beach State as Long Beach, but that's incorrect. It's Long Beach State. Additionally you listed Long Beach State as the 49ers, but they did away with that name back in 2019. They are now the Long Beach State Beach.Bigddan11 (talk) 17:33, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your concern. Surely NCAA knows what they are doing. Just like USC is listed as "Southern California". Socalphoto (talk) 17:41, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

2023 Rose Bowl moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, 2023 Rose Bowl, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 11:30, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
