Invitation to WikiProject Poultry
[edit]Black catbird
[edit]Hi Snowman: Can I get some photo help from you? There's a picture on Flickr (https://www.flickr.com/photos/dfaulder/6907342651/in/photolist-bwHLuM-bwnWjF) that would be useful for the Black catbird article. It appears to have the right licensing to allow its use on Wikipedia. Any chance I can get you to work your magic, and get it uploaded/approved? Thanks! MeegsC (talk) 15:06, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
- I was just about to upload it and I discovered that you had uploaded it to File:Black_Catbird_(6907342651).jpg on 10 Aug 2014. Snowman (talk) 18:52, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
- I was just about to leave you a message, saying I'd figured out how to load a file from Flickr; they still need administrative "approval" though. I wasn't sure you were still around — sadly, a lot of the "old regulars" aren't so regular these days... MeegsC (talk) 19:33, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
- Some of the "old" simple upload tools are not available now. I was about to use the same tool that you used. I have not been on the Wiki much recently, because I like to get outdoor work done in the summer weather. I anticipate that I will do some more editing when the weather becomes colder and wetter here. Actually, it has been raining here today. As far as I am aware, only a tiny proportion of the 500 (approx) lists of birds have been changed to lower-case bird names. I am not surprised that the capitalization extremists do not have the resources to change many of the lists to lower case. I expect that they do not have any realistic plans to change them all and that they do not care about the current state of inconsistent capitalization, which will almost certainly persist for years. Trying to email you
[edit]The Most Compassionate Handler of Wiki n00bz | |
I'm trying to email you a question but I have no idea how to do that. Please pardon this roundabout way of attempting to contact you.
Thanks for your time! J Kaiser23 (talk) 05:49, 3 September 2014 (UTC) |
I almost never ever use email on the Wiki. I note that your user page does not say much about yourself. In case you are an established Wiki editor, I will try to look for some clues on user's talk pages or elsewhere. Snowman (talk) 17:08, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
Second opinion?
[edit]I remember you were quite thorough in questioning various medical aspects during the redback spider FA review. I'm now GA reviewing[1] an article with a similar medical section, Jack jumper ant, but I'm concerned that the writing is too convoluted, and that the writer may not fully understand the sources. Would you be able to give it a look? No rush. FunkMonk (talk) 13:44, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for asking me to have a look. I have put down a few thoughts in the GA review. Snowman (talk) 20:28, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking it up, as you pointed out once, it is important that such medical articles are as accurate and easy to understand as possible, since they may be seeked out by victims of these animals. FunkMonk (talk) 01:38, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Your calling in an admin on the username issue was pretty ugly, in my view. It did not "advance the discussion" at all - that their username was a violation was never in doubt. Not happy.Jytdog (talk) 12:40, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
Vaginal wall
[edit]Hi, you had a lengthy discussion about the amount of layers in the vaginal wall. The end product was very accurate, but imho not very reader friendly. I've proposed some changes that, without changing the contents, make it a little more readable. I started with a sentence you proposed and modified it a bit. Before boldly doing the edit, i'd appreciate your opinion. PizzaMan (♨♨) 10:34, 27 November 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, after seeing your comments on the talk page, it seems be me that you understand histology. I would agree that the version that you refer to in the vagina article is not very reader friendly. I did not approve of that version. I hope that you can improve the article and that you can make progress with discussions. I expect to be busy for a few months without much time for editing the Wiki. Snowman (talk) 13:24, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

Feedback?
[edit]Hi Snowman, are you able to give some quick feedback with the history section in the jack jumper ant article? This will probably be the last time I will ask for feedback to anyone or whatever for GA review. I reorganised it slightly and added a bit of history about the whole body extract + venom immunotherapy. Please check if you find anything that does not make sense or I have failed to address the point you raised in the peer review. Please also mention anything else you are unhappy with. Cheers, Burklemore1 (talk) 13:00, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
Picture problem
[edit]Hi Snowman: Not sure if you're still checking here at all, but there's a problem with a file on Commons (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Saint_Paul_Island_Alaska.jpg); it's labelled incorrectly. The original source says "Paul Island", and someone has uploaded it as "Saint Paul Island, Alaska". It's not Saint Paul; there are no mountains anywhere near that large on Saint Paul! I think (based on the original source) that it's Unimak Island in the Aleutians. Can you change the file name? I'm not sure how to do that. I have updated the description in the file, explaining why I've changed it. MeegsC (talk) 01:31, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Parker Sonnet
[edit]The article Parker Sonnet has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Not notable.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AmritasyaPutraT 10:50, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

Thank you
[edit]Thank you for your edit to Vagina. This article is being reviewed for GA status. The talk page contains numerous discussions about content and referencing. Most of the discussions are between two editors (me and another) and consensus can be difficult to establish. Any input you feel would be helpful is greatly appreciated. A third opinion is always helpful and more objective. Best Regards, Barbara (WVS) ✐ ✉ 09:53, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
Just a note: It is not yet up for GA. Editors, not just two, are discussing matters. You may also be interested in the following discussion: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Anatomy#Working on male reproductive system/genitalia articles. A permalink for it is here. I would like to get around to working on the Human penis article and improving it to the point where it can one day be ready for GA, but I don't yet have the time for that and it seems that not as many editors are willing to take on male reproductive system/genitalia articles. I also know that you don't edit Wikipedia as much as you used to and likely don't have the time, but I'm letting you know in case you are interested. [edit]Speedy deletion nomination of Central Hospital
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Central Hospital, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Chess set photograph
[edit]Hello Snowmanradio ! I see you are the author of File:Chess set 4o06.jpg, a picture of a St. George chess set. Do you know where I could find (or do you have available) a copyright-free picture of a Régence chess set, named after the Paris Café de la Régence and similar to the St. George set except for the spherical head of the (Régence set's) Bishop ? Such sets were very popular until at least when Staunton sets came around and even into the XXth century (my grandfather, born in 1900, had one, but I don't know what it became). — Tonymec (talk) 16:18, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
