A DYK Medal isn't just for life...

[edit]
For his several fabby entrants to DYK, (I cannot believe that there wasn't a Dogs Trust article!) I awared Smur this shiny medal. Wear it with pride, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 22:23, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Saw it on the DYK suggestion page. Great article, enjoyed reading it. Cheers -- Samir धर्म 05:30, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User:HighwayCello/Minun

[edit]

ILM deleted it! He moved it to User:Iloveminun/Black Hole then tagged it, then blanked User:HighwayCello/Minun. I managed to save User:HighwayCello/Minun but all the stuff got deleted. Can you find it in the deletion archives? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:15, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom looks quite nice now. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:26, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
(nods) Torchic was even worse, I had two FACs and two sets of completely different problems. Would you like a hand on anything? ^_^ (guess who's going to be away for a week?) Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:41, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The middle section seems very bolded.. kinda giving me a headache actually. Why does television have to be so annoying at times, it's like nails on a chalkboard. On another subject, what is the sudden buzz with Shiny Pokémon? ; ) Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:48, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I zapped a stupid shiny Pelipper. Stupid no GBA backlight. I don't see the benefit of a Shiny Torchic picture, but anyway. ;) That's life isn't it, they never give you what you need when you need it. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:55, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You know the "Smurrayinchester my talk my preferences..." bit at the top of the screen, has yours jumped to the left? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:56, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Went to the right and jumped back.. ¬_¬ Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:58, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Very odd. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 19:25, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder who this is? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 19:26, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for catching that, Smurray. I got a bit absent-minded while trying to work on the backlog in CAT:CSD, but don't worry, you won't see me doing something like that again. ;) More thanks, Sango123 20:20, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Updated DYK query On June 14, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Vindaloo (single), which you created. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Dear Smurrayinchester, thanks so much for your support during my recent successful request for adminship. I really appreciate it. As an aside, it was good of you to help sort through the Minun and socks situation. Take care -- Samir धर्म 08:33, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rugby World Cup Finalists Map

[edit]

Dear Smurrayinchester,

I have just seen your map Rugby world cup countries best results and hosts.png and noticed that there were a couple of things wrong with it. I have created a new version and would like your permission to upload it. Drop me a note if you want more info. The changes I've made are:

  • 1. Countries without a win at the pool stage now coloured black;
  • 2. Italy added and coloured red;
  • 3. Host nations have larger magenta dots;
  • 4. British Isles inset added (double scale) and host dot moved from Ireland to Wales;
  • 5. Recoloured index and countries to make semifinalists easier to differentiate;
  • 6. Placed boxes around Tonga, Samoa and Fiji to make them stand out easier against ocean.

Hope the above meets with your approval. --die Baumfabrik 04:33, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New version uploaded

[edit]
Map of countries best results

Hello again, Smurray, I've uploaded a revised version as Rugby world cup countries best results and hosts rev1.png for two reasons:

  • 1. You may like to try before you buy;
  • 2. My wikiMedia account is too new to directly replace the image. I could wait four days, but I thought we should strike while the iron is hot. Would you like to move the image yourself?

Thanks for your help. --die Baumfabrik 07:09, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitration

[edit]

Tony said we should both leave statements, I think you would help the case with your good words. The case is here. Hopefully you can get round to it, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:25, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

An Arbitration case involving you has been opened: Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Iloveminun. Please add evidence to the evidence sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Iloveminun/Evidence. You may also contribute to the case on the workshop sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Iloveminun/Workshop.

Can you move Team Rocket (Pokémon) back to Team Rocket (anime)? Someone completely ignored the whole discussion on the move, and I can't fix it. Cheers, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:34, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thankio! Highway Rainbow Sneakers 20:05, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cool! Do you still have the original files? I'd like to make a flat-color version of the image for print. Tlogmer ( talk / contributions ) 22:55, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Without gradients, really -- company logos are usually vector-based and typically only use a couple colors because it makes them easier to reproduce well (not an issue onscreen, obviously, but good for other media). Tlogmer ( talk / contributions ) 07:53, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, cool. Just wanted to make sure there was a flat version in the wild. Tlogmer ( talk / contributions ) 17:55, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Birthday

Hello friend. I wish you a very happy birthday. Yesterday, I could not come to wish you as I was getting late. BTW, I learnt of the same from Wikipedia:Esperanza. All the best for the coming year! --Bhadani 12:12, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trading Spaces program and WP:UPH

[edit]

Hello Smurrayinchester. I noticed recently on Esperanza's Trading Spaces program that you were listed as a member renovating another's userpage. I am here to tell you that the Trading Spaces program has left Esperanza and has merged into WikiProject User Page Help. WikiProject User Page Help is a new WikiProject designed to help Wikipedians with the technical side of Wikipedia, HTML codes, markups, etc. It has been discussed and the Trading Spaces program has been merged into the our new WikiProject. I have also come to invite you to our new project. If you would like to become a member, feel free to add your name to the list of participants. Whether you join or not, you're still free to join the Trading Spaces program. Cheers! — The King of Kings 22:17, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you would like to go and support an award for this wikiproject on the award proposal page? The idea is about to be archived.--evrik 17:41, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A short Esperanzial update

[edit]

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

More socks

[edit]

Is it just me, or does this seem odd? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 12:00, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've had similar thoughts about User:Erupting Turtle, but that isn't as clear cut. I don't see how he amazingly whipped up a copy of the ArbCom page out of thin air, it's all rather odd. He's inviting all god knows people into it, User:Iloveminun, User:Celestianpower, you, me, User:Raichu, it's like a dodgy Agatha Christie novel. I take it the best thing to do is ignore it? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 12:14, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
They all seem to find the PCP rather fast. Maybe ILM isn't the root puppeteer, his first edit was summarising an image. It makes no sense, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 12:25, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am officially paranoid. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 12:27, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot! I’m chuffed! Can ask you to place it on my main user page in the contributions and accolades section; that way it will be an authentic placement (rather than having me move it). Once again thanks a lot! (and thanks for your help too!) Miller 16:40, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notes in Doctor Who episodes

[edit]

Sorry about the clumsy search-and-replace, I paused before checking my work because I was realizing this might be a larger scale problem than just one article. I've brought up my issues with the format on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Doctor Who#"Notes" section in episode articles. Bryan 06:53, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
