[edit]Your recent editing history at 2017 Presidents Cup shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. [edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Arizona Wildcats men's basketball, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Stanley Johnson and Derrick Williams (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Dates and citation parameters
[edit]With this edit[1] you only changed the "through date" above the apparent citation:
! Institution || Location || Nickname || NCAA Team<br>Championships<br><small>(through November 19, 2020)</small><ref>{{cite web|url=http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/champs_records_book/Overall.pdf|title=Championships History|accessdate=December 3, 2017}}</ref>
You were reverted[2] with an edit summary of: rvt; citation says "CHAMPIONSHIPS SUMMARY THROUGH JUNE 22, 2020"
With these edits[3] you then restored the content in a similar manner.
- Your text of "(through date MM DD, YYYY)" must align with your citation. And that citation is dated to June 22, 2020.
- Your accessdate parameter (accessdate=December 3, 2017) of the citation should be updated to the date you reviewed the citation to update the table text, which in this case presumable would be "accessdate=November 19, 2020"
These edits have been reverted, but please do fix the above issue if you intent to readd. UW Dawgs (talk) 20:07, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

[edit]2021-22 Pac 12 mens basketball season page
[edit]Does the title column in the coaches table refer to regular season titles or tournament titles? I think we should try to make it more clear. The reason I changed it was cause it was ambiguous. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 23:27, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
- I updated some of the coaches stats in order for them to be accurate under the criteria given. For example, I put Craig Smith's (Utah coach) record at 0-0 because if you read the parameters of that column, it says that the records are only associated with the games played AT THAT SCHOOL and so it would not be accurate to have his previous records carried over unless we do that for all the other coaches as well. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 00:12, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
May I assist with the day to day updates for this page please? I feel like I could take some pressure and responsibilities from you. I won’t do any updates on this page for the Arizona road games at UCLA/CAL/ASU. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 00:19, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
I can handle the updates. Thanks though Smitty Smitty (talk) 01:24, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Just so you know, I wasn’t really asking you for permission per se. It was more of a formality and I just wanted it documented. I am going to make some edits and we are going to learn to share responsibilities with one another on this page. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 01:33, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Then the same goes for standings for UCLA, ASU & Cal. Smitty Smitty (talk) 01:52, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Here’s the deal. I won’t touch this page. It was a foolish idea on my part to ask. As far as the standings go, let’s keep them the way that they are (me: 3 teams, their opponents +2 AZ games, you: the other 6 teams and 3 AZ home games). GoWarriors151718 (talk) 01:59, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Sounds good. Your more than welcome to do any of the team pages except Arizona. Majority of them don’t get updated for several day. Or if you grammar errors, have at it. But PAC-12 basketball is all I watch, so I updated all this as the games end. Smitty Smitty (talk) 02:01, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Okay. Thanks on the clarification on how you are able to update this stuff so quickly. I’m glad we were able to reach a resolution on this. I probably won’t check that much for grammar problems. And I look forward to this Tuesday. I hope and think it will be a good game. May the better team win. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 02:10, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
The game isn't over until the game is OVER
[edit]I'm informed that you've been "updating" some articles and templates before the game is even over. This is not acceptable. If the final bell/whistle/gong/foghorn has not sounded, the game has not ended, and you should not be changing articles to reflect what you are confident will happen. Don't assume you can always predict the future. We are not under a deadline here, and you will gain no appreciation or "street cred" from your fellow Wikipedians for being the first to change a template or article. We would rather be slow, but accurate. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:23, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

2023 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) A tag has been placed on 2024 Pac-12 Conference men's basketball tournament requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://pac-12.com/mens-basketball/standings#:~:text=If%20more%20than%20two%20teams,one%20team%20gains%20an%20advantage. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Copying within Wikipedia
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from 2014 U.S. Open (golf) and 2023 U.S. Open (golf) into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. wjematherplease leave a message... 21:41, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm The Kip. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Pac-12 Conference have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. The departures of Oregon and Washington have not been formally confirmed; please stop editing the page as if they have been. That’s not how it works here. The Kip (talk) 17:47, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- You can unlock the page now & let people make the edits since the Big Ten just announced they are joining the conference. People were making all kinds of edits based on sources articles from major outlets but thanks for just singling me out. Smitty Smitty (talk) 22:21, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football rankings, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Sourcing
[edit]Hi Smitty Smitty. If you're going to be making major changes to an article like Brent Brennan you need a source first and you need to include a citation for that source in the article with your first edit making changes. Not rumors. Not unconfirmed reports. Not "expected". I'd suggest reading WP:THEREISNORUSH for a longer discussion on this. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 21:33, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
- Team announcements were made via social media. Should I link to those messages? Smitty Smitty (talk) 21:35, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
- No, social media and other user-generated content aren't reliable. You can use a reliable source that has confirmed the news like this article. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 21:40, 16 January 2024 (UTC)

- What exactly about my updates are disruptive. If a driver wins a Grand Prix are we not allowed to update their respective wins & overall standing on that list? Smitty Smitty (talk) 22:56, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
- Because you are making a mess with improper half-done edits, three times in a row you updated the names of the Grand Prix wrongly (user GreenPepper1 needed to fix it after you every time), you are not updating "data-sort-value=" properly to match the race number in that season (for example it needs to be | data-sort-value="2024-20" for today's Sainz win, since its a 20th race of 2024 season), and most importanlty you are not updating "Most wins per season" section properly despite being told two times in edit summary, you cannot just change to "All figures correct as of the 2024 Mexico City GP" without ACTUALLY updating the section, you didn't update the number of total races for Verstappen, you didn't update the winning percentage of Verstappen etc. Snowflake91 (talk) 23:11, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
