Hello Seeubeybrave, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to Prism (Katy Perry album) has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 08:28, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition to Prism (Katy Perry album) has been removed or altered, as it appears to closely paraphrase a copyrighted source. Limited close paraphrasing or quotation is appropriate within reason, so long as the material is clearly attributed in the text. However, longer paraphrases which are not attributed to their source may constitute copyright violation or plagiarism, and are not acceptable on Wikipedia. Such content cannot be hosted here for legal reasons; please do not upload it. You may use external websites or printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If you own the copyright to the text, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the copyright but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 16:14, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Kelly Clarkson. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Holiday albums still being studio albums Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Prism (Katy Perry album) may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Prism (Katy Perry album), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sarah Hudson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did with this edit to Pour It Up. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.  A m i t  웃   01:54, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Pour It Up.  A m i t  웃   01:56, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Prism

Please see the hidden note which explains that Katy did not finalise a track listing at the listening party. She even said the tracks were not final (in name or sound), and the order was not confirmed. Listing them as "confirmed tracks" in a supposed order gives the impression of a track listing. The best and most balanced way is to list all songs in alphabetical order until Katy/her label confirms a track listing with a set running order. Please do not change this (you've already been warned about unhelpful edits regarding this album) and it would be ashamed to get blocked as you have made some good contributions too. → Lil-℧niquԐ 1 - { Talk } - 21:18, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
