Don't you think you should take one step further and delete external links section of this article. Wiki isn't a directory of extremist websites after all. Cheers. M0RD00R (talk) 15:46, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. ONR demonstration wasn't "during" the anniversary of the anti-Jewish pogrom, it was dedicated celebration of this event. I do not think there is a need or way to "cut the spin" as you put, in this case. M0RD00R (talk) 15:54, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm whacking you with the mystical blue flamingo

As the articles created from WP:AfC are not written by you, you must explicitly credit the actual author in the edit summary, otherwise you break the GFDL.

I've fixed some of your recent AfC article submissions so that they're GFDL compliant (I'll do a few more). I've used a tweaked version of the edit summary AfC suggests; I'll leave the rest to you!

ANI Thread

Sceptre, cummon buddy. There's no way WP can help with issues on WR. I've resolved the thread. Move on .... please. Pedro :  Chat  22:35, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. But seriously, I know you may be angry but nothing can be done on WP at this time (IMHO). I'm sorry, and I have about zero time for Kurt myself, but you've got to be realistic on this. If he offends your eye simply ignore his keyboard bashing! Pedro :  Chat  22:43, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sceptre, let's take a step back here man. Trust me, the guy attempted to have me recalled as an administrator because I removed one of his Arbitrary Committee rants that he was spamming to various threads. I like the guy even less then you do right now.. but they're not going to do anything over IRC (where there is no guidelines) and WR (where, if WP had power over what people say on WR, well, about a third of the population there would have fits of Apolexy). Just ignore him, and move on. Let me know if you need help with the functionality of ignoring. SirFozzie (talk) 22:47, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My friend, there are a number of editors like this. However, Kurt does good work here. I personally am ammused by him. His stances on everything from the most pointless of things (RFA) to the gravest of possible things (suicide), are those of an idealist young man. He is a fool, but not due to lack of inteligence - indeed I read a very clever man into him. He is a fool through a lack of life experience. Some 20 years from now he will be a different man, able to understand better - although right now he would deny this - thinking his ideas will be permanent and unflexible. But for now it is best left alone, as no good will come from it. Kurt works hard here, as do you. Ignore his bad words. They are as a child who is spiteful to his mother. Intended at one level, but regreted much later. Pedro :  Chat  22:55, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sourcing

Further to the Fleur Beale AfD, I have noted there that being unsourced is not a reason for deletion and in this case the article was sourced but not with inline citations. I have converted the references and footnotes to inline citations. Many "unsourced" articles contain implicit references in a variety of formats and I have occasional bouts of makng those explicit. Please consider adding this to the many useful cleanup tasks that you do. — Theo (Talk) 06:44, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough

Fair enough - I didn't actually edit in that article, as far back as I can recall. Stubbing is probably for the best, though I honestly cannot see how the usual crowd of Rom-bashers can be kept away from the page without more drastic measures. And, yes, the "references" provided were mostly unilateral and taken out of context (an article about a whole people written as a synthesis of some journalists' opinions is just wrong). Cheers, Dahn (talk) 09:49, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NOP again

Hi, I tend to agree with blanking of this article, it was obviously crapish. But... no matter how bad it was it was way better than extremist version with all that "Jewish lies" crap, that stayed in the main space for weeks. So where do we go from here from now on?. Attempts to make it PR article, from the members of this organization, will never stop. We've seen one today, I'm sure we'll see more of those soon. Criticism from US Dept. of State, European Commission, etc etc is notable enough to be included - anti-Semitic and xenophobic nature of this org is reliably sourced, and this topic can not be avoided in sake of "neutrality". Proponents of this group so far presented no reliable source, no academic article, no nothing in favour of this group, because there is no such thing. This is what I guess makes them mad. The more uninvolved editors like you will contribute to this article, the better. And I mean real contributing, like taking part in discussion on talk page, adding refernces etc, and not simple reverting without making any input into discussion. Cheers. Be careful or you'll be labeled a harpie feminazi with PMS yourself! :) Sarah 01:26, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
hehehe I don't think the 'minor' fact you're a guy would deter him! Anyone who disagrees with him must be a feminazi! It can't possibly be because he's a misogynist and a bigot who has a demeaning view of women. I really must get back into the kitchen - how dare I edit Wikipedia without male supervision?! Sarah 01:39, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

lol :) I do agree about "feminist" and I don't think of myself as a feminist - I just believe everyone should be treated the same regardless of sex, race, religion, etc. And that's especially so on the internet where you can't even be sure if people are women or not! I mean, look at Tony Sidaway editing as "Jenny". I'm not sure about arbitration but I strongly believe he should be desysopped one way or the other. I just don't see how you can have an admin of a top ten website openly making such bigoted and offensive comments about 50% of the population. It's a news headline waiting to happen! It might be worth waiting and seeing if more people comment - I'm hoping some guys might comment as it seems like he will only listen to men. :/ Sarah 02:13, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD

Why did you remove the AfD tag from an article under active discussion at AfD, without a clear summary, and with the edit marked as as minor?[1] ·:· Will Beback ·:· 03:33, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Even if the AfD had been closed, the edit removing the tag should be clearly labelled and not be a minor edit. Please be more careful, especially when you're pre-occupied. Was there a reason, other than deleting a still-current tag, that you asked to have the article unprotected? ·:· Will Beback ·:· 03:38, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Very good job on trying to keep misogyny out of Wiki, however given the number of defenders Bedford had I'm afraid that the problem is much deeper than I'd ever suspected. I hate bigotry and it's nice to see someone stand up against it. •Jim62sch•dissera! 09:00, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It took a certain amount of intestinal fortitude to do what you did and I'm glad you stuck with it. •Jim62sch•dissera! 09:19, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
re for example, have you ever seen Phaedriel or Alison actually start drama intentionally? -- no, never. But what do we say to Bedford's defenders? Disgusting, maddening and quite sad. •Jim62sch•dissera! 09:39, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

People just assume that if one person asks a question about someone else's question, it's 'cause the first person is ready to argue for some reason. Hello, you appear to have listed yourself as a member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision. A discussion is currently ongoing on the talk page on reform of this projects goals and organisation. Proposals have been made on the future covering and scope of WikiProjects relating to the Eurovision Dance Contest, Eurovision Song Contest, and the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. These proposals include possibly re-naming WikiProject Eurovision to WikiProject Eurovision Song Contest and starting a new project called WikiProject Eurovision Dance Contest. The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Thanks for your recent anti-vandalism efforts   «l| Ψrom3th3ăn ™|l»  (talk) 14:21, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help, please.

I remember you as one of the few good editors on Wikipedia and seemed to be able to get things done.

Could you take a look at the article Rastafari movement? It might make you chuckle. It's really that horrible, filled with a variety of fringe theories: cannabis is derived from the Hebrew qaneh bosom, the claim that there were ancient Hindu mystics who smoked weed and had dreadlocks, the claim that ancient Israelites had dreadlocks, and there's a variety of incoherently interpreted Biblical passages. The whole thing is just crap. Complete and total crap.

Anyway, there's someone guarding the article right now who is being a bit ridiculous. Take a look at this. [3] I removed that sentence because it was absurd and he restores it with a Google search for "rasta way of life" as a citation! Hahaha!

Also, see the talkpage.   Zenwhat (talk) 19:20, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Smack Noir Vandalism

You sited that I did an act vandalism to the Smack Noir page that I was editing. As the creator of the Smack Noir page, I do not understand what my infraction was. I cannot view the page to see what my error was or to correct it. Please explain what was done that constitutes vandalsim under Wikipedia's guidelines. RunnerX13 23:38, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To be fair, I don't think Runner meant to recreate the article, he was putting a 'hang on' tag on the article but it was killed just before he posted so he involuntarily recreated it including just the 'hang on' tag. Sticky Parkin 02:05, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks!

Thank you...

...for participating in my RfA, which closed with 119 in support, 4 neutral and 5 opposes. I'm honestly overwhelmed at the level of support that I've received from the community, and will do my best to maintain the trust placed in me. I 'm also thankful to those who opposed or expressed a neutral position, for providing clear rationales and superb feedback for me to build on. I've set up a space for you to provide any further feedback or thoughts, should you feel inclined to. However you voted, thanks for taking the time out to contribute to the process, it's much appreciated. Kind regards, Gazimoff 22:11, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Civility

Will, I've always felt we've enjoyed positive communications and interactions. Your crusade regarding the civility policy (most recent example) is becoming more disruptive than the actions of others you accuse of disruption. I'm saddened that you can't see that you're simply fanning flames, striring pots and creating drama. I'd suggest you pause, take a breath, and consider wether your actions in this regard are actually helping Wikipedia. Pedro :  Chat  12:12, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

*sigh* I get it. It's not Kurt. That's great. But it is getting very close to disruption to cause a point. Pedro :  Chat  12:40, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mass blanking

Hi, I've reverted your blankings of List of fascist movements by country A-F and associated articles. The articles have survived the AfD for which you nominated them. If you disagree with the outcome, please refer to this guide. Thanks, --Stlemur (talk) 18:14, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Prove they're fascist by using sources. If this is an editorial problem, it should be done in an editorial fashion: e.g. removal of unsourced material. Sceptre (talk) 18:16, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I think in the case of the National Fascist Party (for example), there isn't a lot of room for argument. In general, though, sources are included in the articles linked to. I refer you to those.
Also, I will reiterate that blanking articles which have just recently survived an AfD with solid consensus strikes me as an unhelpful strategy which might even come across as vandalism. I note that in the time it's taken me to write this, you've blanked the articles again. --Stlemur (talk) 18:21, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just so you know, I've gotten about halfway through cleaning this one up. If you would like to pitch in and check the remaining ones that I did not leave a <!--comment--> by you may do so. —— nixeagle 20:10, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

...

Seriously? Why do RfAs get used as opinion platforms? Could you imagine if someone did that to you? I'm really disappointed. Seraphim♥Whipp 22:34, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reconsideration. Pedro :  Chat  13:35, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of rollback

In the sequence of reverts you made to [4] you abused the rollback function to revert non-vandal edits. I have removed your rollback capability for a period of 30 days as a result. Pointyness

Will, I'm sure you know that what you're doing is pointy and disruptive; the WP:CIVIL thing the other day, now this mass-tagging of any and all "Criticism of ..." articles. Deliberately doing things to get a reaction is trolling, and I can't think of any more apposite term for what you've been doing. I don't know if you'll listen to me or not, but please consider not trolling any more, or you risk being blocked. Neıl 15:07, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sceptre, I must also address this issue. I've been on your talk page for the last couple of days regarding your actions. I really do have a lot of time for you mate, but WP is bigger than your causes. I urge you to come to ANI, admitt you made a few mistakes and just hold you hands up - then we can all move on without drama. Please. Pedro :  Chat  15:11, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Cool - that's fine by me. Just stick you head in at ANI and then we can get round to discussing the AFD's at AN with a lot less drama. I'm only trying to balance things here Sceptre - the last thing I want is you blocked, but you need to go to ANI and make some ammends. Pedro :  Chat  15:19, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It may well highlight hypocrisy, but I think that's better debated on another day when things are a touch calmer Pedro :  Chat  15:21, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Pedro's advice is good - chill out a bit. It may not have been your intention to troll or disrupt, but to me as a neutral observer, that's what it looked like. As I've just said on WR, you seem to have gone a bit mental, and risk being blocked. I don't want to see you blocked, because you're normallly good people, so I'm hoping once you've cooled down a bit, things will be okay. Neıl 15:25, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Scepre, I'm asking you again. Please just let it go. Walk away from this whole situation. Synergy 15:57, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you don't mind me bumping in as an external editor who isn't really involved in this discussion. From what i have seen is that you have been, and are, an excellent editor. What i can also see is that lately things have been going not so well, if you permit me to say that. I don't know exactly what happened, but regardless of that remember pedro's advice is a good one, even if at this time "Cooling down" or "stepping away" are about the last things on your mind. There have been times i wanted to bombard rules to kingdom come, in my case especially the rules on vandalism that requires warning blatant vandals several times while you KNOW that its going to be result from letting them wander about. However, also remember that editing and fighting policies with a cool head tends to give much better results. Excirial (Talk,Contribs) 16:16, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bedford

Sceptre, please do not leave any more messages on Bedford's talk page that will be read as taunting him. Provoking him further is not going to help the project in any way that I can see. And civility is expected of everyone. Jonathunder (talk) 17:24, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
