[edit]Hello, I'm Adakiko. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Heathen holidays, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Adakiko (talk) 21:17, 30 January 2023 (UTC)

- Stop reverting my edits, I have been asked by leadership of the Troth to correct this woefully out of date entry
- This is not vandalism, it is an update Sandpiper912 (talk) 21:40, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Sandpiper912. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 21:42, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
- I'm just trying to update a woefully out of date definition of the holidays celebrated by the Troth, because our sources have changed. I am not a paid employee, I do not have a conflict of interest, please stop reverting my updates Sandpiper912 (talk) 21:47, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
- So which statement is correct: do you not have a conflict of interest, or have you been asked by the leadership of the Troth to edit? —C.Fred (talk) 21:56, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
- I apologize, I'm finding this process very frustrating. I have been asked to revise this by the leadership of the Troth. I'm using the facts they have published in Our Troth Vol 3 Heathen Life. I am a volunteer. This entry is outdated. I have been accused of vandalism for adding the correct information. Are you telling me I can't fix misinformation on your site? Sandpiper912 (talk) 22:02, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
- Being a volunteer and editing at the request of the leadership means you have a conflict of interest. e.g. with wp:here to build an encyclopedia. Adakiko (talk) 22:47, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
