File permission problem with File:South Elgin High School Logo.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:South Elgin High School Logo.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 22:49, 3 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WHOA!

[edit]

Hi. My name is John, and I am a host at The Teahouse, a question and answer forum for new users. You really need to stop by and ask some questions, man! You spent a whole lot of time today, making 49 separate changes to South Elgin High School and I had to revert every one of them. You see, even though Wikipedia is the encyclopedia anyone can edit; it is not the encyclopedia you can put whatever you want in it. Most broad categories of articles have guidelines; school article guidelines can be found at WP:SCH/AG. Besides being out of guidelines, absolutely none of the information you added was referenced, and that needs to happen. Also, I notice you have been spending quite a bit of energy working on an article for a middle school in Illinois. Well, sorry to tell you, but middle schools don't get articles on Wikipedia.

We, as a community, have been somewhat negligent in welcoming you and trying to shepard you through the maze of Wikipedia. Wikipedia is anything but intuitive. I will leave you a list of links that you should take a look at, and an invitation to come to the teahouse and ask questions and read others questions and the answers. I am also giving you an open invitation to come to my talk page any time you want to ask questions. I will do my best to answer them and if I can't, I will help you find the answer. Please take some time and read up a bit. Maybe then, your edits will stick around. Gtwfan52 (talk) 03:59, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your last warning. The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at South Elgin High School, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You are engaging in unproductive and obstructive editing. This is a collaborative project. You are required to work with your fellow editors, not just blindly reverting to your preferred and highly unencyclopedic version. John from Idegon (talk) 22:02, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for File:ELLIS EAGLES.png

[edit]

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  Mark Arsten (talk) 04:39, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello SEHSstorm17. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Ellis Middle School".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Ellis Middle School}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Passengerpigeon (talk) 04:10, 19 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You have not explained that you understand why you were blocked, your justification for requesting unblocking is not compelling. kelapstick(bainuu) 01:33, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:ELLIS EAGLES.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:ELLIS EAGLES.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, BOT-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate your file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
