I would like to make an appeal: I would like a second opinion on my article because I do not think Blanchardb has the scientific or clinical background to access the significance and reliability of my article.
I do not mean any disrespect to Blanchardb.
Thank you
- Anyone else reading this should probably take a look at the deleted comments I made as well as those by Blanchardb. There is a basic misunderstanding here I think, since what S2kelam means by 'significance and reliability' are not what the issues in question. At the moment, this is a bad article that in a number of ways does not meet our policies and guidelines, and I'm sorry that the editor ignored my comments. - The "significance and reliability" are irrelevant, as the article was tagged for deletion not for lack of significance and reliability, but because it was promotional.
- The article was totally blatant promotion. If you sincerely could not see that then I can only guess that one or both of the following applies: (a) You are so closely involved in the subject that you are unable to stand back and see your own writing from the perspective of an objective outside observer. In this case you have a conflict of interest and should probably not be editing on this subject. (b) You work in marketing, and are so used to marketing speak that you have become desensitised to it, and cannot distinguish it from objective description. In this case you should probably not be editing Wikipedia at all, as you will never be able to write from the required neutral point of view.
- You asked for a second opinion. You have now received a second and a third opinion. I hope they are helpful to you. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:20, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Patagonia (clothing)
[edit]Thank you for drawing attention to Patagonia (clothing). As you rightly pointed out it is totally promotional, and has now been nominated for speedy deletion. You could, in fact, have saved time by nominating it yourself. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:32, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of User:S2kelam/Vestex
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
A tag has been placed on User:S2kelam/Vestex, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of User:S2kelam/Vestex and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

Speedy deletion nomination of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Vestex
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Vestex, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.
- It is a rejected submission at Wikipedia:Articles for creation, and it has not been edited in over a year. (See section G13 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. j⚛e deckertalk 17:07, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
