Signpost Backup

[edit]

Haha, I completely forgot that was you and not Wikihermit that volunteered :) I'll have you do it next week if I can't; we'll see how my computer issues turn out. The internet connection on my laptop keeps dropping about every 30 seconds for some unknown reason, so I've got to figure that out soon (particularly given that I'm going to have an IRC conversation with Jimbo, and I can't do that if I can't keep a connection!) Hm, looks like your going to have to take over, AWB is being a pain and freezing up. I last stopped at User talk:Brian New Zealand. ~ Wikihermit 02:41, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Your bot is great that it delvers the signpost, but why was it 4 days late? -- (Cocoaguy ここがいい contribstalk) 10:57, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because I'm the backup person, and Ral315 was having trouble, so he told only yesterday Wikihermit to do it (he forgot I was the backup person.) But Wikihermit was having trouble also so I did it. --(Review Me) R ParlateContribs@ (Let's Go Yankees!) 11:01, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It should be easy to fix the problem. Shalom Hello 20:29, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm... Shalom...I thought the problem was fixed (by ST47's bot), so I checked the subscription list, and strangely enough, I was unable to even find that name on the subscription list (with my eyes and the find tool). I have no clue how he even received it :D. --(Review Me) R ParlateContribs@ (Let's Go Yankees!) 21:46, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah...he seems to have been renamed. Maybe ST47's bot didn't bypass redirects, whereas AWB did when it delivered it. --(Review Me) R ParlateContribs@ (Let's Go Yankees!) 02:51, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear R

[edit]

Dear R, I miss talking to you so much, that I decided to redesign and revamp your userpage, trying to lure you back into editing the way you used to... and with the hope that we could see each other as often as we did. I cross fingers, hoping for the success of my strategy - and that you like the new looks of your userpage! :) Lots of xxx, Phaedriel - 03:48, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

YAY times 1,000,000!!! R is back to editing, just as he used to! :) I hope stay with us full time, sweetie - don't make me tie you to your new userpage (j/k!) I'm very, very happy to see you active again, my friend :) Love, Phaedriel - 09:46, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adopted users

[edit]

R, after browsing around a bit from your RfA, I noticed you have adopted quite a few editors. I haven't investigated your interactions with them, so I don't know how often they need advice or counseling, but it seems off-hand it might be better if some were adopted by someone else, so that you could focus more attention on the others.

Just my random thoughts after looking at your user page... --Iamunknown 10:09, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've been asked this once before. If you look at their contributions, many haven't edited in months. Only 4 or 5 have edited in the past month, and it was sporadic. Since barely none of them edit, it's not too much work, I just never cleaned out the names of people who disappeared. (One person even graduated himself :]). --(Review Me) R ParlateContribs@ (Let's Go Yankees!) 11:11, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, makes sense. --Iamunknown 02:00, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Undeletion thoughts

[edit]

Heya R. Good luck on your ongoing RFA. I am wondering if you object to the temporary undeletion of User:R/Single Letter Group and User:R/Rant for the duration of your RFA. it is being discussed on WP:AN and thought you may be inclined to participate there. Cheers, ➪HiDrNick! 21:44, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there

[edit]

Hi R, I'm a bit disappointed with the discussions in your recent RfA. I personally feel article writing is not very relevant to the vast majority of admin tasks. However, I can't make you an admin myself and the community seems split on this issue. Even if your RfA doesn't pass this time, if I can help in any way in the future please just drop me a note on my talk page. All the best Tim Vickers 20:42, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

R, I'd like to add my support to Tim's. It's gotta be rough to go through an RFA that's this contentious - and you've gone through several. It's easy to get hurt by things that are said, especially when it's criticism that's so public, and may or may not be deserved. In any case, R, you've handled yourself with class through this, and I want you to know that counts for a lot in my book. It's not worth much, but I supported you on this RfA, and I want you to know that you have my respect. Keep your chin up. - Philippe | Talk 03:38, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
