Was the 'talk' section for the above site the right one to add the tildes? RonaldGlider (talk) 18:27, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yup that worked fine. Just so readers know who said what. - Ahunt (talk) 23:27, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:DOME T4240ZMS microserver.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:DOME T4240ZMS microserver.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Request reason:

OK, I was trying to resolve the licence issue on this Photo File:DOME T4240ZMS microserver.jpg (as it was scheduled for autodeletion). I had a high resolution picture (of my work) taken by a colleague, and was trying to acknowledge that he took the picture, which was taken so we can publish it. I own the item in the picture and thus can make the photo available to the public. I made a number of edits before I understood how to set the licencing correctly, and I guess in doing that tripped a few wires.... Sorry.

Accept reason:

You agreed below to seek help instead of repeatedly adding tags back to the image in a back-and-fourth fashion. You are now unblocked. Thanks for understanding and for reaching out :-). ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 22:21, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Note: If your colleague took the photo they own the copyright, not you. Only they can release it to us, not you. You attempting to do so is copyright infringement. You owning something does not give you the rights to it. I own the Game of Thrones books. I can't take a photo of the cover art and claim it is mine and I own the copyright to it. That isn't how the law works. Instead of constantly reverting and attempting to cover up the copyright issue you could have asked. --Majora (talk) 04:22, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi RonaldGlider! The reason in concern (and for the block) was for the back-and-fourth changing of the tags on that image without discussing / getting help first. If you agree to let Majora help you, I'll unblock your account right now. Is that okay? Do you agree? :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:25, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Just a side note since I have to be going soon. If you wish to have the photo properly released so we can use it please see WP:CONSENT. The form there must be filled out by the photographer and sent into our volunteer response team. They will process the permissions and verify they meet the bar we need for copyright purposes. If you want to go down this road let me know and I will change the tags on the image. It would still be eligible for deletion but it is a "permissions" issue and can be undeleted if/when the permissions are received. Let me know what you want to do. The image isn't going anywhere for a little bit anyways so there is time. --Majora (talk) 04:33, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I agree. I will delete the picture, and upload a new one that I took myself. The picture in question was taken by my colleague specifically upon my request for publication, so I thought I can publish it. I learnt something about copyrights.

You should WP:sign your posts. I'm pinging Oshwah to take a look at this. Vanjagenije (talk) 07:58, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
 Done! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 22:25, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:2U microdatacenter.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. – Train2104 (t • c) 19:24, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of an article you contributed to

[edit]
Notice

The article Asperitas Microdatacenter has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Promotional article. The article title "Asperitas Microdatacenter" refers to a specific product offered by the company Asperitas, while the technologies described in the article are already covered by generic, more suitable and objective, Wikipedia articles: Micro data center and Server immersion cooling. This promotional article should be deleted, however, a few objective-enough paragraphs from this article may be re-used to improve the Micro data center and Server immersion cooling articles.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ruppert Composite GmbH, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Ruppert Composite GmbH moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Ruppert Composite GmbH, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Liz Read!
