Jeffrey Toobin
[edit]I have had to revert your edits at Jeffrey Toobin because there is a fundamental misunderstanding about how articles on living persons work (see WP:BLP). I have not checked the sources you mention, but assume that what you have posted is correct. However, the style of expression is not appropriate for Wikipedia (it would be fine on many blogs, but not here). Articles should not go out of there way to highlight a "controversy": just state the facts without any embellishment or editorial commentary. In addition facts must be due (WP:DUE) and sourced to a reliable source that has made extensive comments on the subject. Please add a new section at the article talk page (Talk:Jeffrey Toobin) if you want to discuss the issue. If necessary, we could ask at WP:BLPN for other opinions, but you would understand the need for the approach of removing undue negativity if you were to consider how articles would look if any editor could add every negative factoid and comment they could find. An encyclopedic article does not use language like "caught", and the correct procedure here (see WP:BLP) is to remove the material, not try to polish it. It is up to anyone wanting to add text to make sure it complies with policies. Johnuniq (talk) 01:53, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- I raised the issue at BLPN; see Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard#Jeffrey Toobin. Further comments should be on the article talk page, although it's possible there will be some discussion at the noticeboard. Johnuniq (talk) 08:10, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Please read WP:3RR and note that your current edits place you over a strict limit on reverts in a 24 hour period. I suggest you immediately undo your current edits to avoid the resulting block which may ensue if any adminstrator enforces that bright-line rule. Cheers. Collect (talk) 12:55, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Again - please self-revert. Please read precisly what WP:3RR says - and note that "rewrites" most certainly are "reverts" per that rule as long as they eaffect what a previous editor has done. Cheers - and please do so as quickly as possible. Collect (talk) 13:43, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
