Welcome!

[edit]
Hello, Rmj2k6 2k7, Welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope you like working here and want to continue. If you need help on how to name new articles, look at the Guide to Layout, and for help on formatting the pages visit the Manual of Style. If you need general help, look at Help and the FAQ, and if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and the Policy Library. Also, don't forget to visit the Community Portal — and if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my New-Users' Talk Page.

Here are some extra tips to help you get around Wikipedia:
  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills, try the Sandbox.
  • Click on the Edit button on a page, and look at how other editors did what they did.
  • Always give a short explanation of your edits in the edit-summary box.
  • You can sign your name using four tildes, like this: ~~~~. Always sign comments on Talk pages, never sign Articles.
  • You might want to add yourself to the New User Log
  • If your first language isn't English, try Wikipedia:Contributing to articles outside your native language
  • Full details on Wikipedia style can be found in the Manual of Style.

Happy editing!

Masistes

[edit]

Hi. I'm the author of the article Masistes in the Spanish Wikipedia, and I'm also translating it to English. I'm glad to see you're helping there, but I'm afraid it's important not to use automated translations -they are useful to get an idea of the text if you don't can't read the original, but have too many mistakes. It's better to do it in the hard way, and I'm doing so, but my English level is not very high, so I'll ask you, I you want, to correct it if you see a mistake or a phrase that don't ring well in English. --Amizzoni 22:15, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Granville Woods

[edit]

Please don't place commentary on the face of the article - it is considered vandalism. If you have reason to beleive it is a copyright violation, drop me a note with some evidence.--Docg 20:21, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I did not take any further offending action following my final warning issued above. I provided text with more information on Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms' tenure in office, including citations for each of the publications and accolades mentioned and received a note on my "talk" page that called my edits soapboxing with a final warning. I meant to follow up to inquire further to ensure any future submissions were in line with Wikipedia content standards, but this morning when I went to do so, I noticed I had received a block notice without any additional offending action. Was the block for the initial edit? If I cannot be considered an impartial source to contribute, is there any way I can provide a string of non-stylized facts to a Wikipedia editor of your choice with no ties to Mayor Bottoms to redact and repurpose as Wikipedia deems necessary and pen updates in the encyclopedia's preferred style? Thanks for any assistance you may offer with this.

Decline reason:

Please address the questions raised below. Please bear in mind that self sourcing is generally frowned upon. I learned this in my second year English comp class. Certainly it looks promotional in an encyclopedia. Please read the following and relate to your own situation-- "All content must be cited from reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and have a reputation for fact checking." -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 03:50, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I have provided detailed responses to the questions below, per request. The recommended course of action to note my service to the City of Atlanta and former affiliation with Mayor Bottoms cannot be adhered to without access to my user page (which I am unable to edit due to the block). Please advise regarding next steps. Thank you.

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficiently convincing for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. Yamla (talk) 12:36, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The sources provided were an assortment of news media publications and official press releases. Even outside of the City of Atlanta's contributions, there should be enough outside sources to corroborate the lionshare of the edits. Ralph Jones Jr. 14:44, 2 October 2018 (UTC)

Until September 27, this account had not edited in over 11 years. Please explain. 331dot (talk) 20:02, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

My name is Ralph Jones, Jr. I created this account in 2007 as a freshman in high school. I logged in Friday, September 27 to make updates to the Keisha Lance Bottoms Wikipedia page. Ralph Jones Jr. 14:39, 2 October 2018 (UTC)

Are you associated with the Mayor? If so, please review WP:COI and, if you work for her, WP:PAID. 331dot (talk) 20:03, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I served as Mayor Bottoms' social media/digital communications director during her 2017 campaign. I am no longer employed by Mayor Bottoms. Currently, I serve the City of Atlanta as its Public Information Officer. What is your relationship with Jjspruiel (talk · contribs) and Zinzisebunya (talk · contribs), both of whom have also been editing Keisha Lance Bottoms (and no other articles) from the same IP with apparently the same computer? --jpgordon𝄢𝄆 𝄐𝄇 21:30, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

<Outing redacted> I know both of them in a professional capacity. I was unaware of any edits they may have attempted. <Outing redacted> we share an IP address during working hours. Neither <Zinzisebunya> or <Jjspruiel> have ever made any edits from my computer. Ralph Jones Jr. 14:39, 2 October 2018 (UTC)

You may make edit requests on the relevant article's talk page, once you fully comply with WP:COI and WP:PAID(if you work for the City of Atlanta as a PIO, you are a paid editor and must disclose per Wikipedia's Terms of Use). Is there any particular reason you had not edited in 11 years before recently? That's why your account was blocked as potentially compromised(a longtime unused account suddenly used). If you wish, you may make a new unblock request explaining this. 331dot (talk) 14:47, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for clarifying and seemingly redacting the neccesary information. Has their been any progress on my block appeal? Ralph Jones Jr. 19:29, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
