Hi, thanks for your edits to the article, I had plans to improve it but somehow got busy. I have few suggestions, I can wait till you are done with your edits. --sarvajna (talk) 12:46, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you. The article needs more information and I think, with you help, we can make it a "good article", in view of importance and material available. But, as you told, online sources are difficult to get.-Rayabhari (talk) 12:51, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- I do have one or two online source and I guess even you have used it now in the article, I did check in few of the book stores here in Bangalore but none of them had any good books. I will try to do my part tonight with the sources I have. I doubt that we can take it to a GA status but yes we can give enough information. Also have pics of Chennamma's status from Belgaum. --sarvajna (talk) 13:00, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- Ok. In my opinion, the areas to be developed urgently are :-

A tag has been placed on File:V.Chandrashekhar. Table tennis player.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the file is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:V.Chandrashekhar. Table tennis player.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:V.Chandrashekhar. Table tennis player.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
I removed the speedy deletion tag that was on the file. What is wrong with the file is that a book cover is used to illustrate the article on the person whose photograph is on the cover. According to WP:NFC#UUI#9}}, this is an unacceptable use. Sorry —teb728 t c 07:15, 14 November 2012 (UTC)

Problem with the Shinde comment
I had reverted your add to the two articles (I'm guessing you were the one who added to the rape article also, but I didn't check that history) per WP:BLP. The problem with that is the headlines have been sensationalized -- if you go through the article, it first says compared with BJP workers and Maoists, but if you go to the interview itself he doesn't do that -- he responds to the question of why he hasn't gone to meet them with a rhetorical whom should I meet and included Congress workers, BJP workers, and Maoists; that in and of itself is not comparing the protestors to Maoists. Unfortunately given the fight for clicks, these news websites seem to be unnecessarily editorializing these things. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 17:17, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you - I realise now, your reverts are correct. I followed suit and reverted one more sensational comment by another politician in rape article. I fully agree that we should avoid much sensationalisation (mainly originated by news agencies) in these type of articles. Rayabhari (talk) 17:22, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not saying such information doesn't have it's place in the article -- I haven't looked at the other one that you removed, so I can't comment on that, but the sources have to be credible for us to include them. Unfortunately, only a couple of newspapers right now seem to be reporting as opposed to sensationalizing so we have to be a bit careful in sifting through the source to see if their headline match the actual news content! cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 17:41, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

Palar Blast
Sorry it took me so long to respond—I've been getting so many messages on my talk page lately (8 when I woke up this morning) that I lost track of yours. I took a look at the article, and the subject definitely appears notable enough. The governing notability guideline is either WP:N/CA or WP:EVENT; an attack that killed 22 people and was the largest in a state in a century definitely meets those. Copy editing is needed; I'll do a little, but I'll probably end up only doing part of it and then I'll leave the tag up. One minor note that will help with future creation: we only capitalize the first word of article titles except in the case of proper names. Since the newspaper reference also calls it "Palar blast" (not Blast), we can tell it's not the proper name of an event. I'll move the article in a moment. Copyright
Hi. I saw your post on PKT's page. An image taken in 1939 could be free to use - so long as the photographer had died before June 1943. Normally, copyright expires 70 years after the death of the copyright holder. It's that date rather than the date of the picture (or text) that counts. If the date of death is unknown, play safe. Anything taken 1923 or earlier should be fairly safe - on the grounds that that is 90 years ago and if the photographer was still alive they'd be over 100 (assuming a 10 year old was holding the camera). (I started photographing at six, which is why there are very few pics of me as a youngster). After 1923, it's dodgy if you don't know the date of death. 1939 - it would be quite possibly for a young photographer to have taken the pic and it still be within the 70 year period. So the age of the photographer at the time can have a bearing too. If the photographer was known to be 90 in 1923, you're safe now. 90 in 1939 - could still be copyright. Hope this helps. Hello,
I notice you edit various India related articles, and I would like to do the same. Furthermore, i notice that I am good with changing the language to make the article better, as is often the problem with many India related articles. So would you be interested in working together to improve a loadful of articles? If so, ping me with the names of the articles I need to work on, and I'll be there ;)

Edit Conflict
I was doing some major work on the 2013 North India floods article, when I edit-conflicted with you. I over-rid the edit conflicted, and then manually tried to add everything that was added. Please check the article to see if I have missed anything.

Regarding Yakshagana
Hi, Namaskara!. I think you can add something about the following
1) Karnataka Yakshagana Bayalata Academy (Government of Karnataka) 2) Yakshagana Academy, Kerala (Government of Kerala)
in the Yakshagana page. Because although these academies don't perform (may be due to low budget!); it's actually a Government recognition for the Art. All the best :) -- Bharathiya (talk) 12:25, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
