Minor Edits
[edit]Hi Random56653! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Wikipedia:About that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. NebY (talk) 11:09, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing that out. I've undone my own revision to Wikipedia:About and started a discussion on the talk page instead. I've previously marked many of my edits as minor, and I now see that this was incorrect. Random56653 (talk) 11:23, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
- All good - thank you! Wikipedia's use of "minor" is often misunderstood, but it's very deeply embedded in documentation, software and parlance, and it would be hard to improve on it. NebY (talk) 14:01, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
