Hey, thanks for blocking User:âââââ ââ¬â â âââ!, that's one more problem stopped before it started... but just out of morbid curiosity, do you have any idea how he made that name?

Hi. I came across User talk:Randfan/not an achivement, but.../pointless page/stupid testing page/Adopt Page? and it seems to have been some kind of experiment by you? Either way, you haven't used it since you created it and it hasn't been touched in over 2 months. Do you still need it? If not, please edit it and put {{db-author}} on the page to get it deleted. Also, your userpage is very, um, bright yellow. :) --MECUâtalk 17:46, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

name change request
Hi Randfan, I hope you're doing well. I have a favour to ask of you. Do you remember that you created the account User:Kyoko in order to prevent anybody impersonating me? I think I would like to transfer my account to that name, but I will need your help. According to the discussion on this page, because you created the User:Kyoko page, I need your permission in order to make the account transfer take place. What you need to do is leave a message on User talk:Kyoko saying that you agree to allow me to assume that user name. That will speed up the process. Thank you very much, I really appreciate it! --Kyoko 16:40, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Really Really Really Really Really Really Really Long Time No See!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whoah! It seems like forever, doesn't it? Sorry I haven't kept in touch. How are you? I had tried to get in touch back around your birthday, but it seems you weren't around then and didn't find my messages. I took a look in your archives right after the posts got archived, and found that they didn't get archived for some reason (but then again, I may have looked over it, your archiving system is pretty complex). Anyhow, I went digging in your talk page's history, and found the messages, which I will place below.
Hello!
Hi Randfan! Long time no see! How are you? I happened to be in town (not that I ever wasn't in town) and was wondering if you would review me. Thanks! Ninetywazup?Review meMy ToDo 22:00, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Wow! I just realized it was your birthday! Sorry if it's late, for I don't know what time zone your in. Again, long time no see! Have a very Happy Birthday!!! Ninetywazup?Review meMy ToDo 22:06, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
Hello (again)(again)
Sorry if I'm bugging you! I also just saw that you got a blank message containing the WP:PJAA userbox. I got that same thing, and still haven't figured out what it was about. Do you know anything about it? If you do, could you let me know? Thanks!! Ninetywazup?Review meMy ToDo 22:10, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
- O.K., I think I'm almost done, but I felt I should leave one last (but maybe not last) message, and that is about that video that you have on your userpage (the one that says that it will make my computer suck). Is it from that starry night astronomy software, because I seem to recognize it. I have that software to! Ninetywazup?Review meMy ToDo 22:18, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
Glad to get that over with!!! Cheers!!! Ninetywazup?Review meMy ToDo 22:02, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Special note to spamlist users: Apologies for the formatting issues in previous issues. This only recently became a problem due to a change in HTML Tidy; however, I am to blame on this issue. Sorry, and all messages from this one forward should be fine (I hope!) -Ral315

Hello Randfan, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Ipu.gif) was found at the following location: User talk:Randfan/accomplishments/Awards. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Please note that it is possible that the image on your page is included vie a template or usebox. In that case, please find a free image for the template or userbox. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 12:42, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I'm sorry to bother you, but as a LoCE member, I just wondered if you would be willing to have a look through the Sheerness article. It is currently a Featured Article Candidate and needs a copy-edit for grammar by someone who hasn't yet seen it. Any other ways to improve the article would also be welcome. Hey Randfan, I really haven't been on Wikipedia much lately, and haven't heard from you for even longer!!! I have sent you a few other messages, but they all got archived before you responded, and a few disappeared mysteriously from the archives (which I find to be very confusing). October 2007 newsletter for WikiProject Abandoned Articles
Welcome
The WikiProject welcomes two new members in the past three months:
Progress
The WikiProject is now halfway done, numerically, with the 1000 articles identified in December 2006. The first (oldest) 500 articles have been claimed, reviewed, and (when needed, which was almost all cases) improved. Moreover, given the passage of time, many of articles 501 through 1000 have been worked on by other editors (it's ten months since that list was generated). So reviewing the second half of the 1000 articles should be easier.
A slightly different approach
Section 6 (articles 501 through 600 on the list) has been organized differently than the previous five sections. First, blocks are (roughly) five articles each, rather than 10, making it easier for you to claim and finish a block. Second, perhaps more importantly, each block consists of similar pages; if you're interested in fixing disambiguation pages, there are blocks of those; if you're interested in articles (which is what the project originally started out being), there are blocks of those; and there is one block of lists and one of redirects (mostly redirects to articles). So, fewer surprises this time when you claim a block.
In addition, since the project now has 25 active members (though some are likely inactive), having more blocks will make it easier to spread the editing around.
Inactivating your membership
If you received this newsletter on your user talk page and don't want to receive such postings in the future, please move your name, in the participants section of the WikiProject, to the "Inactive" subsection.

Are you back?!?!?!?
Long time no see!!! Where've you been? It's been months since I last heard from you! Anyhow, I'm pretty sure I saw some recent edits on you contribs page, and assumed you were back. I've left you a few messages over these past few months (but I'm not quite sure where they are... you're archives are REALLY confusing...) Cheers!! Ninetywazup? League of Copyeditors roll call
Greetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there. The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors. |
