Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/mary butcher, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 02:01, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ramblin' Ronnie. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "mary butcher".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/mary butcher}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 00:01, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ian McGregor, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Broadcaster. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:02, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Councillor Mohammed Rahman.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Councillor Mohammed Rahman.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 21:27, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mohammed Rahman article

[edit]

Hi there, Ronnie. I removed the external links section from the article because I think most of these links would do better as references/citations. That he is the city's first Asian mayor might confer enough notability on him to make the grade, but this should be in the article as a sourced statement, not just popped into an external link at the end. WP:NPOL is ambiguous as concerns the notability of local politicians, but in any event as stated on the Teahouse, you should probably take a back seat in editing the article if you know Mr Rahman, as this creates a conflict of interest. I'm personally divided as to whether to take this to Articles for Deletion, but you need to look through Wikipedia's extensive list of sourcing and notability guidelines and be honest with yourself and Mr Rahman as to whether he really qualifies for an article here.

I'm sorry to do this but since you brought the article to our attention on the Teahouse it's going to be closely scrutinised, and it would have been a bit awkward if you'd asked for help to move the article only to have someone nominate it for deletion. I think you may find it tough going to find enough sourcing to really prove his notability, but give it a go - and make sure you write everything in a neutral point of view, avoiding what would look like you trying to promote Mr Rahman as a candidate or a mayor.

If you do have a conflict of interest then it would be as well to take a step back and let someone else handle this article on your behalf. LouiseS1979 (pigeonhole) 18:13, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Mohammed Rahman, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 22:08, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Mohammed Rahman, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 22:10, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You continue to remove the 'Notability" maintenance template without explanation and you are also marking your edits as minor when quite clearly they are not, if you continue editing in a disruptive manner you are likely to be blocked. Theroadislong (talk) 22:15, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Mohammed Rahman for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Mohammed Rahman is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mohammed Rahman until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Proposed deletion of Mary Butcher

[edit]

The article Mary Butcher has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

DOesn't meet WP:POLITICIAN or WP:GNG; local councillor

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
