Hi

I am not understanding your message. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dino.hb (talkcontribs) 03:53, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Can you elaborate a little? Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 03:56, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
I am just starting to use this and I am bombarded by stuff ... i posted the article few mins ago and already is going to be deleted I just dont get it.... its not worth my time. You should be more friendly to new people. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dino.hb (talkcontribs) 04:06, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
I'm sorry if you feel that you are being bitten, however, the text you added to that article appeared to be a copyright infringement, a legal issue that we have to take very seriously. It also appeared to not adhere to a neutral point of view, and about a company that does not meet the notability guideline for corporations and the general notability guideline. This may seem overwhelming. You are free to create a draft so that you can edit without the fear of deletion, however, you may not insert any material that violates any copyrights, as stated at the top of every edit window. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 04:13, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
I dont even know how to chat on here, it is complicated and not user friendly. You should give people more time to get stuff dealt with. The text I have copied was from the website and ok, its deleted. What would be the problem on the article now??? It would be nice to just tell people what they need to change and not to bombard them with all of your rules that I took time to read and still it does not say what should I change. SO if we are taking the time to text on here, maybe instead of sending me links to rules you could just HELP by actually talking to me. This is actually really frustrating and If you are going to send me another msg with links and stuff that will take hapf day to read then I just give up, delete my article and my account. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dino.hb (talkcontribs) 04:20, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi. The problem with the article now definitely has nothing to do with you. Rather, the subject matter may not be notable enough for inclusion. I linked you to all those pages because they can explain the rules much better than I can but from now I will link to the pages but provide my own explanation. The general notability guideline states that to be included in Wikipedia, topics must have significant coverage in multiple, reliable sources, independent of the subject. This means that many others must have reported on the subject prior, so that it can be included in Wikipedia. This is really all the matters. I am in the process of finding some sources for you and will put them in the article. While I'm looking, can you find some websites that report on it? Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 04:35, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
I have added sources to your article now and it might be fine. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 04:53, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Thank you. Other than the website www.skateprincegeorge.com that I have taken off from the article because I was not sure if that was the "promotion" that was not allowed, I have seen articles about the Northern BC Centre for Skating in local news paper. Would that be enough to keep the article? Can I post the links in the article or that is not allowed? I am just not sure how to add references to the article ... Dino.hb (talk) 05:27, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

There are very good instructions on how to add link s at Help:Citing sources. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 12:20, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Gee Bee R/Doolittle edits

I'm looking for clarification and instruction, in a constructive fashion as noted above.

I understand that links to "personal" websites are discouraged. However, I didn't link to a page about me; it's only my "personal" site in that I host it and my name appears in the byline. I'm not selling anything at all on the Doolittle page. (On some of my other pages visitors can follow a link to purchase the back issue in which the articles appeared, but that's not the point of the site, I make no profit on such purchases, and the Doolittle issue has been out of print for 20 years.)

I'm an historian in my humble fashion, published in numerous magazines and in hardcover. The article on my Doolittle/Gee Bee page is accurate, fully backed up with sources, and includes material not offered on the Wiki page. I sincerely believe it is of use to people looking into Doolittle and the Gee Bee.

Over the past year or two, I've made similar Wikipedia links with some of my other articles, most of which raised no flags and are still active. So I need some clarification on when it is OK and not OK. From my perspective it seems to depend on which Wiki editor reviews my edits. If somebody else had made the same edit I did, and added a link to my site, would the link have been deleted?

Thanks for hearing me out, and sorry again for any misunderstanding. I really was offering the links in good faith.

Don Hollway (talk) 14:16, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

Per WP:ELNO and WP:ELYES, links to sites should be avoided if they can be integrated into the encyclopedia or are simply an article similar to what a Wikipedia article might look like. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 16:23, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

I suspect you did not look at the linked site but just rejected it automatically. ["Doolittle Tames the Gee Bee"] If you believe that page, with its quotes, photos, video and sources, "can be integrated into the encyclopedia or are simply an article similar to what a Wikipedia article might look like," then let your decision stand and feel free to rewrite the wiki. Seems to me that a link was the best and simplest way to "integrate" it into the Wikipedia page, unless you believe the extra info is of no benefit to Wiki visitors.

I repeat, I'm not making any money off the site. The article was published and paid for 20 years ago. This is offered in the spirit of Wikipedia.

Don Hollway (talk) 14:17, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

I did read the link before I removed it. I thought that it could be integrated. However, after reconsideration, I think it won't be possible to integrate due to the way it is written. I won't have any objections if you re-add it, however, other editors might. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 15:41, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

User:Breakon

This user has used his account for vandalism and self-promotion. You gave him his last warning. He needs to be banned. At http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia&diff=554856357&oldid=554459426, he almost removed the entire Wikipedia article on Wikipedia.Surfer43 (talk) 03:13, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

There has been no edits since the last warning so it can't be reported. How exactly did you find that account, and why the push to get it blocked if it is stale? Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 05:53, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

R-commerce

Hi Ramaksoud2000, This is Ahmed Zaini. I need you to explain to me what should I do to make my article "r-commerce" accepted. I have made the changes for the issue you wrote which is my article is orphan. Could please check it and tell what else, if there is any, should I do?

The concern is that it is a Neologism. You can improve it by adding sources to your article to show that it has mainstream usage. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 01:42, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

DOB of non notable minors

Hi Ramaksoud2000, I see on the jimmy fallon article you accepted the edit of an ip who added the exact dob of a minor. This has actual been an edit war over this. Just wanted to let you know I have removed that material again. Thank you, --Malerooster (talk) 22:20, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Could you point to a reason for excluding information? WP:DOB states that when it has been been widely covered or comes from a primary source, it is OK. Here's the primary source. It is is also widely published. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 22:57, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
Darn, I thought you might ask :) I believe that refers to the subject of the article. There seems to be a consensus, please don't ask me to link to it, but I could dig, that when it comes to non notable minors/children we do not include their exact dobs. Now somebody like Suri Cruise is a little different, and I would NOT edit war over that because she might not have her own article, but she is pretty notable. I will have to skip on over to mr. cruise's bio to confirm this. For child actors who have their own bios, I would have no problem including their exact dob. The general rule of thumb seems to be if the person is not notable enough to have their own bio, how does having their exact dob add to the understanding of the bio. I seem to remember that sarah palin was having the dob of her first child included because it showed she was having pre marital sex or some nonsense but that's a different can of worms. Does this help?Cheers, --Malerooster (talk) 23:05, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
I stand corrected. Suri's dob is not included. I might have even removed myself, not expecting that it would last :). If we don't give her dob, then nobody should have it :). I am sure others could comment on this as well. --Malerooster (talk) 23:09, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
Well, it's only a date versus a month, so I'm not really going to argue over something so trivial and I'll take your word on that consensus. Have a nice day! (Or night) Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 23:16, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Hello - some editors fight off the vandal hordes, as I do repairing pages with citation errors. If I didn't - there would be a large backlog in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting and in Category:Pages with missing references list as in Category:Pages with broken reference names (more than 1500 yesterday). But it is impossible to work it alone. Do you know how to do a "Blitz" (excuse the comparision) to find willing editors to work on it. It is much more easier to repair references if you do it one hour, one day or one week ago after the errors were made instead of months and years after the error was done. Very, very difficult to find these errors.

Only with WikiBlame Search it is possible to find and repair such errors.

Thank you and welcome to Wikipedia. I feel that the subject may not meet Wikipedia's nobility guidelines. This can be addressed by WP:Citing your sources. Wikipedia generally only has articles on subjects that have been thoroughly written about in secondary sources. If you have some of these sources, please let me know or add them to the article. Because you appear to have been using multiple accounts, I did not notice that you are the one that created the redirect and then wanted it deleted. Since you created it, this falls under WP:CSD#G7 and will be delted. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 19:58, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, it's getting pretty confusing for this newbie. Is that why, when I tried to go to his X...98 entity talk page , I got this:

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts to evade a block. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: (link deleted) However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. "Paige Sports Arena"

There is no such place and it should not redirect to Mizzou Arena. Regardless of the possibility, it was never known by that name. Eodcarl (talk) 01:02, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

This source in the article claims the contrary. Stop disrupting the redirect. You just redirected it to itself now after I reverted you for blanking it. For an easy link, Paige Sports Arena. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 04:19, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
Please stop redirecting the imaginary Paige Sports Arena to a real place, Mizzou Arena. Eodcarl (talk) 14:14, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
Are you going to address the source or discuss why you think it is imaginary when I just presented a source that claims the contrary? Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 17:30, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
No, I am not going to address the source. It does not rise to the level of its own Wiki page, and it is intended as harassment that it exists as a page in the first place. The facility started from day one as Mizzou Arena. It doesn't really matter, except being wasted electrons, since no one will ever search of Paige Sports Arena. Eodcarl (talk) 01:05, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
You just said it was an imaginary place. A redirect is not a wiki page. In fact, redirects should be used when a subject doesn't meet the level of a wiki page. Please do not make random claims of harassment, why do you think this is harassment? You can view how many searched for it here. If it's just wasted electrons, then why does it matter? Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 02:39, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
FWIW it is my opinion that Ramaksoud is in the right here. He/she has presented a source. Eodcarl has not (although im not sure how you could give a reliable source for the claim that it was never "known" by that name). I shall be enforcing this point of view on Mizzou Arena and Paige Sports Arena until it's shown to be wrong. Benboy00 (talk) 22:04, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

Gill Tract

Hey -

Responding to your restoration of the redirect to Occupy the Farm on the Gill Tract page:

I think it is integral and imperative to include that link on the Gill Tract page, but I think that an actual Gill Tract page needs to go under construction. That is why I deleted the redirect and started writing the page.

I am going to really get into it over my winter break from school. But for now I hope that others will begin to land on the page and contribute.

Thank you for your kind word of advice and your attention. I am new to wikipedia, etc.

@Blaylockjam: I saw that you left it an edit summary, but WP:Patent nonsense does not authorize complete blanking of the entire thing. It says "Remove it from the article if there is any acceptable content left in the article after that." I'll look through it and salvage a stub. To delete an article, look at WP:AFD. Thank You

Thank for renaming one of my pages and thank you for the nice post you left on my talk page. You said that my request for a rename was "done even though it wasn't a file and wasn't needed." I apologize if I did something wrong. I pretty new to the who "active participation" in the Wikipedia thing and am trying to learn as I am going along. Could you please explain what you meant by "wasn't a file and wasn't needed," and what I should've done instead? I am in no great hurry so just whenever you get the time I would appreciate the feed back. Thanks again. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:25, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

@Marchjuly: Oh no problem. That wasn't meant to be a snide remark. I was just informing you that you could have done it yourself quicker. The reason I saw your page was because you placed rename media on it, a template used to request that a file be renamed, as only file movers can rename files. When I attempted to move the page using the move feature, which you can use as well, I saw that the destination was on the Wp:title blacklist. Usually, if you encounter this, you should make a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves, however, since you were the only author of the content of that page, you could have simply made a cut-and-paste move, even though it is normally not allowed for the reasons described at the link, because the specific entry on the title blacklist still allowed you to create it manually. If I you have any further questions about this, or Wikipedia in general, please ask. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 21:37, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

@Marchjuly: Go to User talk:Marchjuly/Editnotice and simply copy and paste User talk:Pol430/Editnotice there, make all the modifications you want, and leave a note saying where you copied it from like I have. You can see Wikipedia:Editnotice for more details. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 21:56, 15 December 2013 (UTC)
@Ramaksoud2000: Thanks for that. Screwed it up the first time, but got it right on try number 2. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:44, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
Sure thing. Ask me if any questions pop up later Marchjuly. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 01:51, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

Article review disappeared

Hi Ramaksoud2000, sorry to bother you; it's a silly think, but when I logged on to WP I had a notification that said [No page] was reviewed by Ramaksoud2000 5 days ago

Now, the date field says "December 15th", so I looked at your review log but I can't find an entry for that day (probably because the page was deleted).

I just wanted to ask you if you knew which page was that, because the only recent change I made was on Tracy Spiridakos (at least that's what I remember) and I have no idea what other change I might have made that needed reviewing!

Thanks,

--Claudio ping! 19:54, 20 December 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Flyingstar16 (talkcontribs)

Ah yes. I remember. You created Utente:Flyingstar16 (which is in your signature) with a redirect to the Italian Wikipedia, which appears to be the user namespace on the Italian Wikipedia, however, that namespace does not exist on the English Wikipedia. Our User namespace is "User:" and I tagged that page for deletion under WP:CSD#R2, which allows for deletion of redirects from the Wikipedia article namespace (which you created the redirect in) to user namespaces. Your signature should be modified to be "--Claudio ping!" so that it works on the English Wikipedia. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 20:19, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
Oh, thanks! I amended it; I believe it was replicated automatically when I merged my accounts (or maybe I did it manually, can't remember). In any case, thanks! Claudio ping! 15:18, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

I had tagged this user page as db-spam, and you reverted that edit here a couple of weeks ago. I'm typically very good at judging these things, so what makes this case different? --| Uncle Milty | talk | 21:20, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

WP:G11 is for content that is exclusively promotional. Merely describing yourself and linking to websites that you have is not exclusively promotional. The links were not the majority of the content by any means and the userpage was describing the user, not the links. If I maintained a blog and I put a link on my userpage, would it be G11? We also had a brief exchange on your talk page after I left you message about my revert. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 04:07, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

Closing ANRFC discussions

Hi Ramaksoud2000. I noticed that you have been closing discussions at Template:Centralized discussion. Your close at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)/Archive 108#Proposal to move the Orphan tags to the talk page, which I listed at CENT, showed attention to detail by addressing the alternate proposals. Would you consider closing discussions at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Requests for closure if you have the time and inclination? If not, then no worries. Thanks, Cunard (talk) 09:59, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

Sure. I'll go through those when I get the chance. Thanks. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 12:58, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Bank Audi Logo.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Bank Audi Logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 13:03, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Lcd.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Better map

Sorry to bother you, but I just want to make sure that the comment on the talk page of Statewide opinion polling for the Democratic Party presidential primaries, 2016 "Could we change the map such as the gop map?" was not made by you. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. A tag has been placed on File:Jamal Saeed Abdul Rahim.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the Non-free fair use tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". New deal for page patrollers

Hi Ramaksoud2000,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
