Sharebon edits

Hello – I noticed by your edits that you're a student editor, focusing on Japanese literature, medieval to modern.

I do appreciate your edits on the sharebon article, but I'd like to ask that you incorporate Wikipedia's language templates – {{lang}}, {{transliteration}}, {{nihongo}} and {{nihongo3}} – into your edits. In particular, I notice that in some instances, you've actually removed nihongo tags – and they are there for a reason.

English Wikipedia has a policy that all foreign-language content (except for that inside ref tags) should be placed in language templates. This is part of Wikipedia's accessibility policy, as it means that visitors who use screenreaders will have text in different languages read out to them correctly.

I spend a lot of time adding these templates to Wikipedia; I specialise in Japanese culture as an area, but I don't edit these articles to the exclusion of all else. I've covered most of the high-importance articles on my watchlist, such as geisha and kimono, but a lot of my time is spent actually re-adding these templates in, as passing editors mostly add content without thinking to use these templates. Wikipedia is actually full of unchecked non-English content, and it's an uphill battle to make it a more accessible website.

I know it takes longer to conduct edits when adding these in, but it isn't much of a time sink – and it really does help and save time in the future. Other than that, happy editing!--Ineffablebookkeeper (talk) ({{ping}} me!) 10:52, 2 May 2022 (UTC)

Hey man I'm real sorry about stepping on your toes with the article but the project I'm working on is basically finished so I won't be editing anymore beyond a few minor edits here and there, the language thing tho was completely absent-minded I didn't even realize I deleted that stuff.
