You repeatedly vandalised the Singapore article. You're welcome to contribute usefully to Wikipedia, check out the main page of Wikipedia for more info on how to edit articles. Pursey 15:18, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Trinity Crew
We wrote a serious article about a serious topic, and you deleted it. Who's the vandaliser now?
- Hello, I'm assuming your talking about your vandalism to Cricket Manager. You made edits and deliberately inserting typo's. I did not "delete" the article for two reasons - a) I can't. b) The rest of the article was fine. The only issue was your vandalism. Pursey 07:56, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Garlic
Thanks for bringing the situation at garlic to my attention. I think you have handled the situation properly. However, I happen to agree with the other user that the statement doesn't really belong in the article. I've left a comment at Talk:Garlic. --Ed (Edgar181) 15:11, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm going to stop making reverts now. I've already done enough to get me blocked for a few hours, and I'm going to quit before I get into some serious trouble. I hope you can resolve the problem. - ¡Kribbeh!Speak!\Contribs 17:28, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, so I did break 3RR. I hope they don't catch it. :( - ¡Kribbeh!Speak!\Contribs 17:29, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- Sit tight, don't edit it any more. You should refer it to an Administrator. I'll let you do it, so that you can also explain that you've breached 3RR. They're likely to be more lenient if you come clean straight up :) Pursey 17:31, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I only have access to a computer during this class period, which ends in about three minutes. I will not have access to another computer for another five hours; could you please refer this to an admin for me? I've left a final warning on the offender's talk page, and he has yet to stop. I'll take whatever block for this 3RR violation; I don't see much of an alternative in the time I have to fix it. - ¡Kribbeh!Speak!\Contribs 17:34, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- Righto. Leave it with me. Pursey 17:36, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the note on my user talk page[1]. Since the editor is new to WP, I'm hopeful that we can work stuff out w/ him by being extra patient and civil (cf. WP:BITE). I'm going to reply on Talk:Acupuncture soon and try to address his concerns. cheers, Jim Butler(talk) 00:06, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Question
Dear Pursey, hello! and thank you so much for giving me a stict warning. What I don't get is this.. I did NOT write any statements about the dog stew restaurant, and as it's a cultural thing, I don't see why that count as vandalism(mind you, I didn't write the thing, I only wrote a sentence after that). I also wrote several words which were (that's true!) and (nice editing, Mipo), which is my friend's name. I don't understand why I got a 'final' warning from you when it's my first time on wikipedia and the only thing I can think of that annoyed you is the first sentence I wrote. I do think if you were that annoyed to erase all the articles from the 'Location', you should warn someone who actually wrote that article. You might give me another warning just for saying my opinions out loud to you, but I'm risking it so I can actually find out why you gave me a 'final' warning when there wasn't one before. (and I don't think writing 'that's true' and 'nice editing' counts as a silent second and third warning. Hope you aren't angry, but I'm confused and would like to hear from you soon.
- I've left comments on the talk page of the article. Pursey 05:35, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
From an Email to me in reference to changes to Blond
' "light brown to pale blonde" is incorrect and I will change it again if you change it back. Get over it, Pursey, because brown is not blond. Brunettes always want to speak for blondes and say that bleached brown is blond but that is over now too. Blondes are speaking for themselves and we say that brown is not blonde. How is that beyond your comprehension? '
- Hi, Wikipedia has a policy on Neutral Point of View. Also check out Neutrality. If you have a concern with the material, you may discuss it on the article's talk page and change it when a consensus is reached. You sent that message to me in a email, which shows your email coming from the blondfrombirth.org domain. Clearly, your viewpoint is biased and should be discussed on the article talk page before it is changed again. Pursey 06:36, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

- You're welcome. Just don't get yourself into trouble when you don't have to. Some people who will disagree with you will take the first chance they get to the 3RR report you if you breach it. When you're editing touchy subjects like you are, things get pretty heated :) You're doing good, neutral work. Keep it up! Pursey 10:18, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your comment that Voyage Au Pays Des Nouveaux Gourous is a well written article, as per your vote on the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Voyage Au Pays Des Nouveaux Gourous page. Yours, Smeelgova 03:53, 17 October 2006 (UTC).
- You're very welcome, you deserve the comment :) Looks like the AfD will fail to reach a consensus based off the current comments. Pursey 04:28, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps, perhaps. I did try to cite lots of sources in proper formatting. And as to the quotes, plenty of other articles have many more lengthy blockquotes from other sources, so I don't think this is really something that's out of the ordinary. Thanks again for the commentary on the article, it's not often one gets compliments around here. Yours, Smeelgova 04:30, 17 October 2006 (UTC).
- Yeah :) I primarily do anti-vandalism, so compliments rarely happen - usually abuse instead ;) Pursey 04:35, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

- On a related issue, What is your opinion regarding the "non-compliant" tag that User:Jossi placed on the article Voyage Au Pays Des Nouveaux Gourous ? Yours, Smeelgova 07:47, 18 October 2006 (UTC).
- The article appears to be pretty neutral, though from the vague understanding of the program I have, it was considered a "beat-up" program, so people may view some of the content as POV. The article has 22 references and everything is cited fine. From the browse I had the other day I couldn't see any original research. See if you can resolve the issues with Jossi, and if you still have no luck you can always look at other options... ask someone to mediate between you, and if that still fails, you can always look at a RfC. Pursey 08:01, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for the advice. I have modified the Talk page Talk:Voyage Au Pays Des Nouveaux Gourous and article page Voyage Au Pays Des Nouveaux Gourous accordingly. Let me know if you have any additional comments or of course you can comment on the article's talk page directly if you wish. Yours, Smeelgova 08:33, 18 October 2006 (UTC).

Sorry, the membership requirements stipulate 150 edits AND two weeks. You will have to wait a little bit longer. :-/ You may list yourself though on the "Users who want to join but don't meet the requirements yet" section of Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members. Then in a few days you just have to move yourself to the active members list once the two weeks have past. Best regards. --Húsönd 04:58, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

- Article seems to be well written so far. Still looks a bit empty and strange in parts... ie. Non-fiction books rarely have plots or require spoilers :). Pursey 00:29, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to Esperanza!
Welcome, Pursey, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact our administrator general Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!
- Awesome. :) Just coming back after a quick break due to work commitments. Should be devoting more time here now. Pursey 11:57, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

take care
Hi Pursey, I saw your comments on the Stress alerts page, and I wanted to say that I'm sorry that you've had a harsh experience on Wikipedia and that you have chosen to leave. I won't push you to stay; only you know what's best for you, and if you feel that your life is better without Wikipedia, so be it. In any case, I hope that you feel better soon and that you have a wonderful life. Take care, --Kyoko 22:39, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the comments. The amount of stress I'm under at the moment isn't all due to Wikipedia, but everytime I come on to edit I feel unappreciated and like I'm bashing my head into a brick wall. And at the moment, I don't need the abuse, stress etc... a little time to myself would be nice, but I still won't get that at the moment even without Wikipedia. Pursey 22:44, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- I understand how you feel, I had nearly the same experience when I edit. I feel underappeciated about my edits and other stresses such as my work load and lonlieness which causes me to become pretty stressed. Please realize that your edits will be well worth its because someone will award you by your great edits. If you choose to leave Wikipedia, I'm fine with it but please don't give up because your edits will be appreciated soon. Hope you feel better and take care.--PrestonH 04:02, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm so sorry to hear you've decided to leave! I hope you know that some people here do care, and if you ever decide to come back we're here to back you up. Although rewards may seem few and far between, know that every time someone sees a page you've edited your work is appreciated. Every fixed comma splice, sentence fragment, or improperly used ' that you fix/remove makes it easier for every single person who sees that page to read, and they (although they may not know you fixed it) are thankful that you put the time and effort in to bettering Wikipedia's articles.
You're a good person, please take care and do what's best for you. Just know that we care too :-)

thanks for reviewing me
Thanks for participating in my editor review!
Hello there, and thank you for participating in my editor review! I appreciate your comments and I will strive to make myself an even better Wikipedian in the future. Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion! — Kyoko
-Hello Pursey, I really appreciate that you took the time to review me even though you have chosen to leave Wikipedia. While I think that I should probably learn more about the process behind Wikipedia, it's not something that I'm particularly interested in. That's one reason not to become an administrator. Another reason is that I believe the stress of being an admin would only worsen my emotional health. I'm glad that you like my contributions. I try very hard to write things in a neutral, "encyclopedic" style, and I hope that the effort shows. Let me also suggest that you keep your account password handy, just in case you ever choose to return to Wikipedia in the future. Thanks again! --Kyoko 23:38, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Re. Howdy, I'm back.
Hello Pursey, and welcome back! :-) I hope that whatever reasons made you leave us months ago, they don't repeat. Take your time to get re-accustomed to Wikipedia. Feel free to contact me should you need any help. Again, welcome back! Festive regards, Húsönd 23:22, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Hi! Thanks for your review of Madrid. Although going over the article again, I have found significant issues with the article when matched against the GA criteria. The issues are primarily on criterion 1 (most of the arts and culture section is a collection of lists, and there is another list in the 21st century: history section) and criterion 2 (most sections of the article are completely unsourced, and specific problems exist in that sections containing hard data, such as demographics figures, contain no references at all). For complete details, I have left my review on the talk page of the article, with specific issues. I have delisted the article from WP:GA and placed it back on hold at WP:GAC, until the issues are resolved.
I don't mean to sound really harsh, but it looks like you're fairly new at WP:GAC, so I'm just trying to help you out. Cheers! Dr. Cash 06:10, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Also, as an additional note, I find it particularly helpful to, in a sense, treat the GA process sort of like a peer review (mainly since peer review seems to be dead right now. GA isn't FA, so it's not on the top; in other words, it's a step on the process towards the ultimate goal of FA. I've seen some articles go from GA to FA in less than a week, although most articles seem to hang around as a GA for awhile (there's quite a bit that probably will never get to FA status, like Wal-Mart, due to the controversy associated with it; but it is currently a GA, and looks like it'll remain that way). Either way, I find that the more complete review and more suggestions I can write about an article, the better articles will improve, and editors usually appreciate the comments as well. Most of my reviews seem to take up 3-4 paragraphs, or many bulleted list items; it might take more time, but in the end, I think it makes for a better encyclopedia,...
- Also, I find it also helps to refer editors with specific issues to several wiki style/guideline pages, specifically: WP:LEAD on problems with the article lead section, WP:CITE on problems with referencing, WP:MOS on other manual of style issues, and WP:NPOV on NPOV issues.
- Hope this helps! Cheers! Dr. Cash 06:34, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
