[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Yale University, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Vanity Fair. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]I noticed that you had recently changed the status of this article from a B-Class to C-Class under, noting "Considerable sourcing issues, outdated information, and inconsistent coverage. With the primary issue being sourcing, it fails Criteria 1 for B articles. Demoted to C-class." Upon a review of the article, there appear to be no sourcing issues nor areas which others have template-marked as suspect. In fact, the only area for improvement that is currently marked is the list of faculty not being more prose. I'd appreciate examples of how you've come to your conclusion, especially sourcing as that seems to be the most egregious, so this can be rectified. If not, I will be reverting the score back to B-Class. Thanks for helping on the continuous improvement on this article and I look forward on ways we can make it better together. GauchoDude (talk) 17:23, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- @GauchoDude: I'll assume good faith, as that is one of Wikipedia's core standards, but I fail to see how you reviewed the article and didn't notice sourcing issues. The "History" section features several paragraphs that lack a single citation, as does the campus section. The "Layout" section is completely unsourced. Only one missing citation for "Research impact rankings" but considering that is filled with potentially controversial information, it is pertinent to include. The "Colleges and schools" lack citations. There's a sentence in "Academic year" that lacks a citation. "Social" has several paragraphs/sentences that lack citations. "Greek Life" has one citation for the entire table, and that doesn't even provide a list of the fraternities and sororities. "Housing" has a total of three citations for its 8 paragraphs of information, leaving gross amounts of text completely unsourced. "Athletics" is missing sourcing, as is the "People" section. Perhaps I just have more stringent standards for sourcing, but I fail to see how there isn't a considerable issue with it for this article. I urge you not to promote this to B-Class until at least some of this is addressed.
- As for the other issues, they were more minor, but for outdated information reasoning: it was mainly statistics and rankings in the "Academics" section that were on the fairly older side -> "The university garnted 5,812 bachelor's, 587 master's, and 354 Ph.D degrees in 2010–2011". Another is "In 2015, QS World University Rankings ranked UCSB 129th in the world." This isn't that major of an issue, but was just something I noticed throughout.
- Finally, inconsistent coverage take a look at the recently promoted Pomona College to Good Article to see how this one compares. This is once again, not that serious of an issue, but I felt like at least adding it to the list of concerns. I'd also say to try to bring this page's layout in order with other WP:HED articles.
- I am once again going to assume you did review this page in good faith, but I do urge you to be more critical with the text, as I'm a little confused on how you missed out on at least the sourcing issue I noted above. I look forward to you rectifying these issues and for me (or some other reviewer) to promote it back up to a B or even Good Article status. Good luck! PoliticsIsExciting (talk) 19:40, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- @PoliticsIsExciting: Thank you for assuming good faith and publicly pointing out, more than once even. Happy to address any of the areas you feel are in need. If those areas are issues for you, please add the corresponding templates into the article so I can have a working to-do list (as I won't be able to knock them all out in one go) or others who are interested in improving the article can work to upgrade it alongside me. In my opinion, merely downgrading the article without an actionable to-do list isn't helpful. I know for me, as I work on a lot of Santa Barbara-related topics, I'm only looking for the templates showing work needed. As the article had none, I've focused my efforts elsewhere. Surely I'm not the only one. Thanks in advance for adding those to the article! GauchoDude (talk) 18:13, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
- @GauchoDude: Fair enough. The reason I didn't add maintenance templates at first was because I was doing a general sweep through many WP:HED articles, and I simply didn't have the time to go through each one. Realistically, the process was to see if there were any concerned editors, such as yourself, in which case than I would convene. Many articles are in disrepair with little interest from editors, so efforts would inevitably be wasted if I added them to every single article. Anyway, I've added the maintenance templates to UC Santa Barbra's page. If you can fix at least most of those, either ping me or feel free to promote it yourself. Good luck! PoliticsIsExciting (talk) 19:45, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
- @PoliticsIsExciting: Sounds like a plan, thanks. Sorry to hear about the other articles. GauchoDude (talk) 20:50, 23 July 2021 (UTC)

Princeton University
[edit]Will you support the deletion of List of Princeton University people? It uses the same inclusion criteria as List of Nobel laureates affiliated with Princeton University. The two pages include graduates, non-graduate students, postdocs, faculty members, and visitors. Will you support the FL delisting of List of Brigham Young University alumni or List of University of Central Florida alumni? The inclusion criteria for "lists of X people" and "lists of Nobel laureates affiliated with X" are the same. IMO this website needs some sort of guideline for "lists of X people". What do you think? On the page Wikipedia:Featured list removal candidates/List of Nobel laureates affiliated with Princeton University/archive2, you "voted" to delist. The inclusion criteria for the list is robust. Maybe, you need to re-think your "vote". Your response will be critical! Ber31 (talk) 18:00, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Hello there, just seen this page at NPP. I'm concerned that it does not meet the notability requirements for politicians (WP:NPOL). Do you have anything further to demonstrate notability? AusLondonder (talk) 16:49, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, I'd be curious why you believe this isn't notable. The Mississippi Public Service Commission is one of two elected commission bodies in Mississippi and have arguably more importance to Mississippi politics than local state legislators. The AP and notable political papers like the Magnolia Tribune covering this, as well as reports from local news as well would demonstrate notability. PoliticsIsExciting (talk) 17:31, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- He doesn't have inherent notability per WP:NSUBPOL, which for the U.S. says "Members of the state legislatures are presumed notable." I question just whether the coverage is too routine. AusLondonder (talk) 19:42, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- @AusLondonder And which I read WP:NSUBPOL, and acknowledge that state legislature members are presumed notable, which is why I emphasized the commisioner position has arguably more power than the caual member does. I think for Dane Maxwell in particular, it was notable for him to lose the primary, an unusual situation in MS politics, which can be expanded on if that is necessary. I will also emphasize that elected BPU Commissioners have precedent in having Wiki articles on them, which your disagreement would tackle a large segment of articles. Lastly, and while this point is perhaps outside Wikipedia guidelines, I do think there is more notability in coverage on a politician than over the myriad Wiki articles one sentence long on a sports player.
- If necessary, I can add more on his political opinions, as that was covered in local media, but I do believe questioning notability here is questioning a large segment of articles that exist. PoliticsIsExciting (talk) 20:25, 26 March 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}

Copyright problem on List of counties in Mississippi
[edit]Some of the content you added to the above article appears to have been copied from https://mississippiencyclopedia.org/entries/county-government/, which is not released under a compatible license. Copying text directly from a source is a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, some content had to be removed and I paraphrased some. Please let me know if you have any questions. Diannaa (talk) 13:25, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Diannaa -- the intention was not to copy any material. Any sentences that seem to be copyrighted are simply sentences that you cannot write in any other way without losing content...which through your edits, you have now removed important information on county offices you find on comparable List of County pages. Nevertheless, I will find a different way to rewrite the information. PoliticsIsExciting (talk) 21:44, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
Robert C. Robbins
[edit]Hi PoliticsIsExciting, I am working to update the Robert C. Robbins article. Dr. Robbins is the former president of the University of Arizona. He was raised and educated in Mississippi. I see that you're a member of WP:HED and that you have an interest in Mississippi, so I hope you'll take a look at the edit request I posted on the talk page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Robert_C._Robbins. Would you consider moving the information from the lead to the Career section?
Thank you, Navyblue1234 (talk) 19:00, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
