Sock puppet investigation
If you are a true nuetral admin then if you have protected kashmir conflict then at the same time I request you to also initiate sock puppet investigation user Human3015 and Rsrikanth see here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kashmir_conflict&action=history they edit togather to avoid three edit rule. they have done two times on kashmir confict and i am sure they must have done at other pages too. 39.47.184.157 (talk) 18:00, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
- @39.47.184.157: I came very close to blocking you for edit warring on Kashmir conflict but I concluded that full protection for the article would be more appropriate. If you have a concern about potential sockpuppetry you should report it at the appropriate venue, not here Philg88 ♦talk 18:17, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
- Sir please do it because i am unaware of complexities. Similarly see offwiki collaboration, unintentional or otherwise keeping in view https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Human3015#Those_users ; after reading that plus all indo pak & kashmir relevant Wiki articles edit history; Apparently Kautilya3 Human3015 and CosmicEmperor are doing so and are providing each other back up to avoid 3 revert rule of edit warring. I want justice for all including me.39.47.184.157 (talk) 18:32, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
- Wikipedia frowns on making multiple posts on the same topic seeking admin action and I see you have also reported this at the edit warring noticeboard. What I suggest is that you back off and wait for the dispute resolution process to run its course. Philg88 ♦talk 05:26, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
Hi Phil,
I have made the required modifications in the article: Fenda Audio India
Please remove it from the list of Articles for deletion or please tell me if there are any other changes that are required to be made.
Thanks,

Kalinjar fort
hello, encyclopedia Britannica and secondary sources are saying that kalinjar fort was not submitted to Mahmud of Ghazni, then why did you revert my edit at Kalinjar fort. 2A03:2880:3010:6FF1:FACE:B00C:0:1 (talk) 12:13, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
- Because you have been edit warring on the article. If you have an issue, please discuss it on the Kalinjar Fort talk page, not here. Philg88 ♦talk 14:49, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
- Actually Kansas Bear is not accepting Encyclopedia Britannica and other secondary sources. what can I do then? Britannica is obviously neutral. 2A03:2880:3010:6FF6:FACE:B00C:0:1 (talk) 15:13, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
- I have no intention of getting involved in this content dispute, my role is purely to prevent disruption to the Encyclopedia. If you believe that you have a valid case, I suggest you take it to dispute resolution after you have made a convincing case on the talk page. I recommend that you register first, since IP editors are often viewed with suspicion in matters such as this. Philg88 ♦talk 15:19, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

Appeal
Hi Philg88, i would like to appeal your recent decision here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents#Disruptive_editing_by_Joshua_Jonathan An attempt has been made to resolve the matter at the talk page of the concerned article but this attempt has been unsuccessful. Joshua Jonathan clearly feels it is well within his right to move edits from one section to another, remove section headers, and move his and my edits from a particular section header to a newly created section header. I disagree completely with this approach since it results in confusion. So Admin intervention is necessary now. Given this fact, please tell me the procedure of appealing your decision. Do i take this now to the ArbCom? Or is there some intervening appeal body? Soham321 (talk) 07:04, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Soham321 and thanks for the message. My "decision" merely indicates that your issue with Joshua Jonathan is not one that an admin can resolve. An admin's role, inter alia, is to prevent disruption to the encyclopedia. You may find refactoring talk page comments annoying but as long as it doesn't descend into edit warring then there isn't anything I, or any other admin, can do about what is fundamentally a style issue. I don't know what sort of reception you'd get at ArbCom if you report the matter there but I suggest a better option may be to attempt to resolve your issues with JJ through dialogue. Philg88 ♦talk 07:16, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- It is not possible to resolve our issues through dialogue because we have a fundamental disagreement on this matter which needs some kind of official clarification. I am therefore taking this matter to ArbCom. Thanks for your prompt response. Soham321 (talk) 07:18, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
Kashmir conflict
Philg88 I added this from Amnesty international 30 june 2015 report on kashmir https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kashmir_conflict&type=revision&diff=669877951&oldid=669854640 but user Kestwol called it nonconstructive. Recent Amnesty report on completion of 25 years of armed forces special act is all about kashmir conflict hence no reason for calling it nonconstructive and edit warring. 39.47.134.197 (talk) 06:36, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- I've reworded the details to fit Wikipedia policy. Philg88 ♦talk 06:52, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I just saw you moved this page from Bohush (Hasidic dynasty) as an "uncontroversial move". Why? The original title is a very standard format for titles of Hasidic dynasties; alternately, we write "(Hasidic group)" for non-dynastic Hasidic movements such as Breslov (Hasidic group). Whoever asked for the move did not post a request for move on the talk page. Please move it back. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 18:21, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Yoninah and thanks for the message. I moved it as an uncontroversial technical request as the target was a self-redirect and there are no other articles titled "Bohush"'. If you want it reversed, please request a revert in the Requests to revert undiscussed moves section of the requested moves page - that way everyone can follow what's going on. Cheers, Philg88 ♦talk 19:08, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you. I posted the request there. Yoninah (talk) 19:36, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: I've done the revert and redirected Bohush as suggested. You might want to add a bit to that article flagging the connection. Best, Philg88 ♦talk 20:07, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello Philg88,
The CTA is no longer led by the Dalai Lama. See the Internal Structure section in the CTA page: "On 10 March 2011, the Dalai Lama proposed changes to the exile charter which would remove his position of authority within the organisation. These changes were ratified on 29 May 2011, resulting in the Kalon Tripa becoming the highest-ranking office holder." --Elnon (talk) 22:48, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Hey, I noticed you blocking this user because "You have been indefinitely blocked from editing because your username gives the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website." I was just curious if you could link me to the policy on that and/or how to report this issue. I come across this quite a lot on NPP and AfC. Thanks! Sulfurboy (talk) 16:42, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

Kashmir conflict
lead para of kashmir conflict was refered to DRN , Modrator Steve concluded DRN summerised as follows " I'm closing this dispute as failed, for a few reasons.......I would strongly recommend the proposals I suggested be implemented (proposals included deleting EU and retaining just a single line about state election 2014 ), with further community input sought on the alternatives for inclusion, (through perhaps an RFC is sought)"
I accordingly filed RFC on talk page and deleted EU and retained just a single line (although i am against retaing that line too) but i respected what modrator said plus all users agreed delting EU on DRN but now Human3015 is edit waring . Kindly protect page and stop action against modrator recommendations. 115.186.146.225 (talk) 13:20, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

Tony de Peltrie
Hello Philg88, the short film Tony de Peltrie is now my second article for wp:en. The draft is still in my User:Maxim Pouska space and ready for review. I would prefer that you take first a look at the draft. After this I submit the draft for review via the link. This is my translation of an article I wrote and published in the German Wikipedia about Tony de Peltrie. My first article was Georg Nees. best regards.--Maxim Pouska (talk) 09:00, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hi there Maxim Pouska and thanks for the message. Good work on the new article! I've done some tidying up and requested clarification on two points and for a citation regarding one claim. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Best, Philg88 ♦talk 10:13, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Philg88 thanks and here a reference for the missing citation. I can not put a number on this profit because it is more indirect via the total investment of the video and pc-game companies, plus the revenues by the companies. The creation of jobs not only by ubisoft and the tax the employees paying I counting too. This studie The Case of the Video Games Clusters in Montreal and in Los Angeles is maybe the best citation. --Maxim Pouska (talk) 13:10, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Maxim Pouska: As the first example you give above is a press release, I'd go with the second one, i.e. the case study. There doesn't need to be an actual number, just a reliable source that shows Montreal benefited financially, which we now have. Best, Philg88 ♦talk 13:16, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Philg88 Thanks again. I added the citation and submited the draft. Best, --Maxim Pouska (talk) 15:51, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

Advice regarding removal of Speedy Deletion tags
Hi Philg88, I need some input as to how to proceed. User:KMM90 has continuously removed speedy deletion tags from different users (including myself) relating to copyright violations and spam on Ali Bydon and I'm unsure how to proceed. I'm hesitant to put another tag on because that might seem like edit warring, and I'm unsure of the process to deal with the copyright violation in the page history (that has since been removed). Is this something that should be reported to WP:ANI? Should I let it go and move on? This is more complex than other situations I've dealt with so I'm unsure of what to do next, if anything. Thanks in advance. Wugapodes (talk) 06:53, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Wugapodes and thanks for the message. I've had a quick look and there are two courses of action possible. If you have proof that it is a WP:COPYVIO then please retag Ali Bydon as G12, ping me and I will speedily delete. Alternatively, you could nominate the article at Articles for deletion as failing WP:BIO and or WP:GNG. Cheers, Philg88 ♦talk 07:01, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick response. The current public version doesn't seem to be a copyvio (though it may be close paraphrasing of another source), which is why I'm unsure of whether a speedy delete tag applies. This edit which was the first to be tagged seems to have a large amount of close paraphrasing from the duplicate detector and looking through the matched phrases, the change in wording is minimal, or a thing is tweaked to prevent matching (like "He has co-authored over 125 peer-reviewed manuscripts and numerous book chapters." versus "He has co-authored over 120 peer-reviewed manuscripts and numerous book chapters." which only changed one number). Since the current version doesn't seem to have a clear copyvio, is it still appropriate to tag? Wugapodes (talk) 07:18, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Wugapodes: Looks to me as if the AfD option would be better. If you're unsure what to do, shout and I'll take care of it. Cheers, Philg88 ♦talk 09:27, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

Question
I was wondering what the policy was about using a talk page to draft articles. I've got a (hopefully?) new editor, Dasho Karma Ura (talk · contribs), who is sort of making a mess of a bunch of articles, and while I have tried to address his issues with suggestions and the Teahouse welcome, the one thing I didn't have clarity about was that bit. Do you know? I tried looking up WP but it seemed unclear to me about the talk page as it specified "stale" drafts and old revisions; he's copypasting entire pages onto existing ones, so it's not a normal draft. Ogress smash! 07:06, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hi there Ogress. According to the relevant guideline, the purpose of a user talk page is to communicate, discuss edits etc. Although draft creation is not explicitly forbidden, we have the sandbox and draft spaces for that purpose and I would strongly discourage any user from using their talk page to create drafts. Hope that helps! Best, Philg88 ♦talk 09:30, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
Inappropriate galleries
Hello, Philg88. I advise you to check WP:Gallery before reverting the edits of more experienced wikipedians. The policy states: "If a gallery would only lend itself to a title along the lines of "Gallery" or "Images of [insert article title]", as opposed to a more descriptive title, the gallery should either be revamped or moved to the Commons." --Ghirla-трёп- 16:38, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Ghirlandajo: Noted, and there's no need to be patronising. It appears from what you say that the gallery should either be revamped or moved to Commons. No doubt you will take care of that. Philg88 ♦talk 16:46, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi Phil..
That person seems to be totally crazy. He got nothing until I started editing the page. Is this some kind of game. He only knows about Nuzvid Division in this Gampalagudem page which is 40 kms away from here. Gampalagudem is a villge and mandal. As he saying it won't make sense creating two pages for village and mandal. I don't know why these kind of people try to show themselves by deleting data and adding only what they know and complaining about others who edit. I know very well about Gampalagudem. What does he mean when saying Wikipedia is not tour guide. Then why does Wikipedia contain tourist section. I don't agree with that person User:Vin09. I can't tolerate taking away my rights in Wikipedia. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Raw-WikiEditor (talk • contribs) 11:35, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Gampalagudem
Mr Phil, as a senior member you should see that. He accused me in Gampalagudem page stating Justdial and Google are not reliable sources, where he found that ? Google and Justdial are also having Wikipedia pages and I din't found anything about their wrong information. I added Roads and transport section, you edited that and wrote about Madhira railway which is 20kms away as Gampalagudem doesn't have any road ways and connection between other towns and capitals. When I talk about Gampalagudem mandal user:vin09 is saying this is just a village, create mandal page if you want and he writing MLA details of Tiruvuru as village leader (Sarpanch is village leader, MPTC is mandal leader) without knowing who is village leader. Gampalagudem is a village and also a mandal so the data is always same. And what sounds as a tour guide when I'm writing the truth. If you guys do like this people won't find Wikipedia useful. Now you don't say they are not reliable because I really think myself which world are you from. If you compare the previous edits of Tiruvuru you will know that. There is no single reference. But I didn't damaged the article there because it got valuable information for new people who lookup. But when I worked on Gampalagudem page you guys just removed everything and wrote just "its under Nuzvid divison". 14 mandals and their villages are under Nuzvid division that's not a matter. After my numerous attempts Gampalagudem page got some information and some deleted. So please maintain respect and please don't show partiality which is not healthy. So check once before you leave a message on my talk. I'm trying my best to make the articles which I know to be rich in content. So Raw-WikiEditor (talk)NO OFFENSE MEANTRaw-WikiEditor (talk). Thank you. — Preceding undated comment added 20:14, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Raw-WikiEditor: What happened with the Gampalagudem article has nothing to do with partialty. My role is to ensure that the appropriate policies and guidelines are followed and that the Encyclopedia is not disrupted. You chose to ignore what other editors told you about adding unsourced material, which is why it was removed. I could go on but there are other more productive tasks that would be a better use of my time. I have no doubt that you can become a worthwhile contributor to Wikipedia but you must learn to follow the rules and work with other editors. There is nothing more to discuss on the matter so please, keep editing but stay with in the boundaries. One last thing, don't forget to sign your talk page messages with four tildes (~~~~) Best, Philg88 ♦talk 05:30, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi! I was on Swedish nature reserves and when I got to Brucebo I thought it was just a good time as any to write this. You know me, I like to tell the whole story... I don't know if it's appropriate to have so many different "things" in an article, but in sources they are always mentioned together and everything else is so entwined. I also doubt that some of the subjects, except for maybe the reserve, would be notable enough for their own articles here on enwiki. Would you mind taking a look and give it some ce when/if you have the time? Best, w.carter-Talk 13:18, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hey kompis It's not usual to have an article where the details of a husband and wife are interwined so tightly. Nothing inherently wrong with it, but Carolina is certainly notable in her own right and warrants her own article. Spitting the subject into two would also make it easier for readers to follow, since there wouldn't be sudden jumps between him and her. Hello again! As you so rightly pointed out, Carolina deserves an article of her own (this has been seconded by another editor) so I've started a draft. I addition to this, the DYK for the article was not promoted because of the Brucebo section. No big deal, but since there are objections, I might as well do something about that too. BUT having read some other posts on this talk page, I'm not sure how to do this without violating some move policy. I started the Carolina-draft by copy pasting that section from the original article, to have something to expand on. Maybe not such a smart move, since I'm not the only editor on the original article. I have no idea how to move just sections of an article to draft for expansion into a new article. Should I request this somewhere? I don't want to mess up with the Brucebo section as well. Best, w.carter-Talk 08:34, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- Never mind, I finally found it. I almost got it right with the starting edit in the draft for Carolina, so I think that it's acceptable. Please let me know otherwise! I'll do it according to the book with the Brucebo section. Cheers, w.carter-Talk 13:44, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

He is not answering despite I had explained on his page. I can explain to you as A constituency is measured in terms of mandal segments. Gram Panchayat is a subset of these mandals and these panchayats do not have anything in that reference, pls check Assemly segments Page 20, kindly explain him.--Vin09 (talk) 18:01, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

Mess
I think I have managed to sort out the mess with a district in Gothenburg, a building, a square, a bridge and a harbor/dock all with the same name, Lilla Bommen, by fixing/translating an article about the district for the "main name" Lilla Bommen, explaining things and moved the building to Lilla Bommen (building) so that it corresponds with wikis in other languages. I think I finally got the Wikidata right, but the links there were made between some of the building's eleven (!) nicknames. In different languages. Do you think you could cast an experienced eye on the whole thing and see if I've missed something? Best, w.carter-Talk 20:20, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
- Working Zzzzz.... Philg88 ♦talk 21:38, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Kompis, I've done a CE and had a look at the other language versions. AFAICS, the Wikidata is OK for the "base" article and it looks like only the Dutch haven't disambiguated the building. I see there is also a radio show of the same name mentioned in SV Wiki but that wouldn't be notable here. Nice work as usual! Best, Philg88 ♦talk 04:54, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you very, very much! Phew... this is the first time I have done a major rearranging of articles, links and whatnots and it was a bit scary! Glad it turned out ok. I did not think the radio program would be worth mentioning, so I didn't. It's not like they're going to make a movie about it. ;) Also, thank you for the CE. Very kind! Personal attacks
175.157.200.100 (talk · contribs) has been making unpleasant personal attacks against me in their edit summaries as they vandalise Ellalan (monarch). How do I report this? Ogress smash! 05:26, 21 July 2015 (UTC)

Seriously?
But seriously... Does somebody need to explain to you why that's an inappropriate comment that will hold little weight, or are you simply being malicious on purpose? That is not cool to say the least and I would've thought you to be above something like that. You're an administrator. The community expects a higher standard of behavior and leadership by example. Would it be that hard to at least try to have a modicum of decency at RFA of all places? If not for your own self-respect, and if not for the standards we're held to by the community, then at least do it for the rest of us administrators—we certainly don't need needless disregard from within our own ranks making us look bad as a whole. Your revert on Haryana
Hello. I noticed that you reverted an edit by Prashant 015, and not for the first time. FYI they have repeatedly done the exact same on Delhi, as part of a deliberate attempt to make the Jat community seem larger and more important than they really are. See my reply to them on my talkpage, explaining why I have repeatedly reverted their edits on Delhi. Thomas.W talk 11:02, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Thomas.W and thanks for the message. I've left a further warning on Prashant 015's talk page. Whether it will do any good remains to be seen. Cheers, Philg88 ♦talk 11:12, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
Elare (Monarch)
Hello, Why was the Tamizh script of EllaLan removed from article Elara (monarch)? Watching by the history, it is Ogress who removed valuable content from that article by the name of cleanup. Can you please revert the edit to the one before it? Though the old revision DOES have some bad format, the cleanup cleaned too much "content" along with bad format. On other Chola (Three Kingdoms) articles, the Tamizh script is generally allpwed because the name of them, in fact, is in Tamizh. And, isn't removing valuable content considered 'vandalism'? Moreover, I do not see any reason why the article was reverted; the personal attack is irrelevant to the article; it involves the person than the article of concern.
- @175.157.250.141: First off, I suggest you read the community consensus on using Indic scripts in article leads and the policy on personal attacks. Then read the Wikipedia policy on reliable sourcing and the essay on etiquette. If you have any questions after that then feel free to come back. I also suggest that you apologise to Ogress and make a fresh start. Philg88 ♦talk 21:04, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- And, she is removing my response on the talk page as well, however valid it was.
- Is it possible to get a temporary unblock to insert the Indic Script on that page, in that infobox? Thanks.
- Oh, no problem, nevermind, that was added there by someone else. Thanks, though.

- Hi George and thanks for the message. I didn't contest it, I opened a discussion as an uninvolved admin to determine community consensus based on the history of move warring. Harassment, threats, etc.
Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/175.157.245.185#21_July_2015 has been filed for a few days but the editor is IP hopping within the Sri Lanka range and continues to harass, make personal attacks, and threaten. No one is looking at the investigation, which I understand given the backlog, but this is kind of unpleasant. Any suggestions? Ogress smash! 09:53, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

- These IPs should be banned for doing abusive comments. They should know Wikipedia policies. Their edits could have been accepted directly if they would have been commented in polite way. --Human3015 knock knock • 11:09, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
- IPs can't be banned, by definition. If (some|all) users of the IP addresses are willing to discuss the content civilly, then we don't have a problem. However, if some of the users of the IP addresses persist in the personal attacks, then we may need to range block all unregistered users from that address range. I'd start with short-duration blocks of specific IP addresses that offend (not just sock, but directly harass). If the IP continues hopping and can't be effectively directly blocked, then a range block will be in order. (By that point, we would have a series of single-address blocks that we can hold up as evidence.) —C.Fred (talk) 19:04, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks C.Fred. Things seem to have calmed down for now, but individual blocks will follow if it restarts. Cheers, Philg88 ♦talk 19:14, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Salting Ali Bydon
You may remember I asked your advice about the page Ali Bydon a week or so ago. It's been deleted and recreated multiple times, most recently after a failed Articles for Creation request. I've tagged it again and, if it is deleted, would you be willing to salt the page to prevent recreation until the draft is shown to be in line with policy? Or, if I need to request that level of protection somewhere else, could you point me to where? Thanks! Wugapodes (talk) 19:42, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of sex doll mag link
Hello,
You just deleted a link to sexdollmag.com#sex-doll-buying-guide on the Sex Dolls article, and I do not see any guideline on wikipedia that justifies it.
Sexdollmag is an independent (i.e not affiliated to any sex doll vendors) and non commercial website (i.e not making any money nor aiming to). If is run by a team of sex doll enthusiasts, and the goal is to provide quality content for sex doll fans.
The link I included in the sex doll articles pointed to a buying guide hosted on sex doll mag.
This buying guide does not encourage the purchase of a doll at any specific vendor. It is an unbiased and general piece of information for doll enthusiasts who want to better understand the doll market.
Could you please reconsider your decision?
Thanks
- As per policy, Wikipedia is not a guide. Encyclopedias are not places that provide people with advice as to which sex doll they should buy. There are plenty of sites providing that type of information available via a Google search but this isn't one of them. So, the short answer to your request is "no". You've been on wikipedia since 2008, how is it possible you do not understand how much your actions are breaking trust, against community and completely inappropriate for a wiki editor? You are at liberty to add anything to Wikipedia, providing it is referenced with citations in line with our policies and guidelines. - Done kompis Nice! I hope you'll noticed that the amount of copyediting required is decreasing with every article you create - a testament to your excellent English skills. Well done! Philg88 ♦talk 06:25, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
