Why thanks!
[edit]For adding this, the only time I think you've ever edited an article on my watchlist. Was this something that came out of Berlin? How was it this year? Daniel Case (talk) 00:35, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Featured Video
[edit]Hey Pharos, just thought I'd leave you a note saying I'm very supportive of introducing Featured Video to Wikipedia. I think it would not only be a great way to showcase the video we already have, but will also act as an impetus to get more people uploading. Keep me apprised of developments, and ask for my help at any time. The Interior (Talk) 20:39, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Scavenger Hunt : Montreal Museums Day
[edit]Hello Pharos,
On the page of Scavenger Hunt, it says to contact you in order to set up my scavenger hunt. On May 29th, nearly 40 Montreal museums are open and free. I am currently organizing a photo contest called "Focus on Montreal Museums" and it is actually the first GLAM event of Wikimedia Canada! I was wondering if you could help me to put this on track, and also get a username and password to view the contest on the Scavenger Hunt site.
We will have the opportunity to discuss it in person, because we will see you for the GLAMcamp NYC. Thanks for your help, Antaya (talk) 19:47, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Featured Sounds needs you
[edit]Featured sounds was booming with activity in the March/April period, ideally that should be all the time. FS has been a battleground at times, however, it is my hope that that is in the past. I ask you all to reconsider your positions and set aside the differences you may have had with other participants for the good of the project and encyclopedia. Don't let FS become like VP, it is a path that a featured process should traverse. You were sent this message because you are listed at Wikipedia:Featured sound candidates/Contributors or have been a past contributor.

Possible Wikipedia takes Mexico City
[edit]Im reading through the documents on the Wikipedia Takes.... events. We spoke briefly about the possibility of one in Mexico City last weekend in New York. I have a question. What kinds of prizes have been offered for these events? I spoke to my boss and he is willing to donate a slot in any one of our non matriculated language classes as a prize. (These are offered through our Centro de Lenguas which badly needs publicity) But if its a one day event, would that be too much? Also, are these generally advertised only to the Wikimedia community or to the public at large? The suggestions for publicity seem to indicate Wikimedians.Thelmadatter (talk) 16:39, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
Seeking Architecture Ambassador
[edit]Hi Pharos, do you mean online ambassador? If so, I might be able to help. --Elekhh (talk) 23:29, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, but I have no ambitions in the managerial field :) I am happy to be a candidate for the AA role only. As I am in Australia, I imagine that if you find a US based volunteer would be more convenient for your project, so just keep me on the candidate list and let me know when you decided. Cheers, --Elekhh (talk) 21:39, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! --Elekhh (talk) 21:08, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- Btw, I was wondering if in the Wikipedia:GLAM/MoMA/Challenges "my portfolio" could be represented as well? If yes, I would suggest Philip Johnson and/or Museum of Modern Art. --Elekhh (talk) 09:21, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hm, I simply meant adding one or two architecture+MoMA related articles to the Challenges, but if the current list is final is ok. --Elekhh (talk) 02:35, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Film ambassador
[edit]As you can tell from my user page I do like art. I noticed you talking about a film ambassador on WikiProject Film (An project that I am active on) and I was wondering what is the main goals of film ambassador? Jhenderson 777 17:26, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
- I was just curious. Newer films are what I mainly worked on. Although I have worked on Serial articles a few times before. But yeah I do think I will pass on this one as well. Thanks for the explanation. Jhenderson 777 23:57, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
Wikipedia Takes Nairobi
[edit]Hi Pharos, the local Wikimedia group in Kenya is having a Wikipedia Takes the City challenge so we need a site for participants registration and uploading pictures so I was hoping to get an admin account on the 'Wikimedia Photo Scavenger Hunts' site to get things started. re: Film Ambassador for WikiProject MoMA
[edit]Hi Pharos. Thanks for asking me regarding the above. What exactly does it entail? Lugnuts (talk) 18:09, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- Not sure if I'm up to the task of answering questions from staff who work at the MoMA, considering I've only visited it once during a trip to NYC in 2009! Thanks for asking me though. Lugnuts (talk) 18:56, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- OK, why not. Thanks. Lugnuts (talk) 08:11, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
No attendees so far for Arizona Wiknic
[edit]Hey there, I have not gotten such good feedback for the Arizona Wiknic despite putting notices on several people's wall and posting a GeoNotice. Do people usually sign up for these things at the last minute?--Jax 0677 (talk) 17:02, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Library of Congress project
[edit]I hope you don't mind but I added a link to the Library of congress project on the Glam list of Projects. I realize it isn't technically a GLAM project but Functionaly I think that the project would benefit from a collaboration by both projects and it is closely related to the GLAM Vision, goal and scope. --Kumioko (talk) 16:26, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- Cool, looks perfectly fitting to me. There is an "L" in GLAM, after all! And I would be rather surprised if LOC didn't get a Wikipedian-in-Residence in the not-too-distant future, given the multilevel relationships, and the particularly strong overlap of mission in this case.--Pharos (talk) 17:05, 15 June 2011 (UTC)--Pharos (talk) 17:05, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- I agree on all counts. Enjoy your Wikibreak. Gonna be away for a few days myself next week. --Kumioko (talk) 17:43, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
You're invited to the New York Wiknic!
[edit]This message is being sent to inform you of a Wikipedia picnic that is being held in your area next Saturday, June 25. From 1 to 8 PM or any time in between, join your fellow volunteers for a get together at Norman's Landscape (directions) in Manhattan's Central Park.
Take along your friends (newbies permitted), your family and other free culture enthusiasts! You may also want to pack a blanket, some water or perhaps even a frisbee.
If you can, share what you're bringing at the discussion page.
Also, please remember that this is the picnic that anyone can edit so bring enough food to share!
To subscribe to future events, follow the mailing list or add your username to the invitation list. BrownBot (talk) 19:18, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia / Wikimedia / GLAM Project partnership with new WikiQueer project?
[edit]Greetings, I am the SysOp and public representative for a new Wiki project, WikiQueer, specifically for the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning) communities that supplements the LGBTQ content on Wikipedia with other resources, talking points and information pertaining to the LGBTQ population. We will be soft launching in the next few days with a grand opening later this year. I am very interested in partnering and supporting Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation in whatever ways we can. A number of international, national and local nonprofit organizations and community leaders have already signed onto the project or are preparing to publicly join in the coming months.
I am hoping that as an ambassador and participant in the GLAM project you can help us navigate a possible partnership. We're especially keen on helping convey that we support Wikipedia and are trying to expand on and enhance that experience rather than challenge or compete. Any feedback on the WikiQueer project itself is also appreciated. We're also actively seeking individuals within or supportive of queer communities to join our Global Advisory Board if you or others you know may be interested.
Thank you in advance for your time and I appreciate all of the great work you and other Wikipedians are doing!! --Varnent (talk) 03:13, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
