WTF!? I came here to ask why User:Rama's Arrow left wikipedia (He mentioned you) and see that you're inactive too! What is this world coming to!? Gosh, my friends list is getting much smaller... Hope you come back; you're a credit to the community. Does anyone else know why Rama's Arrow left? *Sigh* *Cry*... Spawn Man Review Me! 04:40, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Thank you
I plagiarized your thank you card design. It's nowhere near as classy as yours but hopefully fun: User:A. B./RfA thanks (haikus)
I hope you will return to Wikipedia -- "civility" is a buzzword around here but you raised the bar to WP:COURTESY and WP:GRACIOUS.

Happy 2008!
Happy New Years!!!!!
I wish you and your friends and family a very happy new year. As we enter 2008, I also hand you anything you would like. Even if it's alcohol, which I'm not allowed to handle.
I've completed my first full year of holding this account (not editing, mind you; that's due to my three months of inactivity).
I've made many friends here in my first year, and you, since I am giving you this message, are one of them. I've gotten a much better view on Wikipedia, about everyone being able to edit, vandalism, etc.
Once again, I truly pray that you, your friends, and your family have an excellentè New Year! (Yes, my bad Español is starting to leak through my Englsh.)
Thanks for helping me around Wikipedia as a new editor, and have a great 2008!

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Black Eyed Peas - Monkey Business - CD cover.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Black Eyed Peas - Monkey Business - CD cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:43, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Little help here?
I noticed you're a real good user page designer, which is good because my userpage looks like random wikicode thrown together carelessly as an attempt to produce a userpage. Which, on retrospect, it probably was. So when you're ready, hit me up at my own talk page and we can get started. I need your help
Hello again! I need to see if we can get your help on an issue. We are trying to get the article about the Grammy awards in shape and myself and another editor are trying to decide if we should keep or get rid of the "records" section of the article. It is true that the section does not have a lot of focus. As you can see here [1] the other editor is in favor of deleting it from the page. I myself feel that the section needs to remain. I feel that if people want to look up the information, they can go to the Grammy website and look up the information and confirm it with what we have included. Hypo feels that it seems more like original research. I feel that we both have merit, but we feel it would be best for us to have a third opinion. Can you ring in on this? I have always appreciated the way you look at thiese issues with fairness. Junebug52 03:39, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, Phaedriel is on WikiBreak right now, so it's very likely she won't be able to help you... if you want, other administrators can look at it for you :) SirFozzie (talk) 03:40, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you friend for your attention to this. I have submitted it to other admins as well. I wanted to get a few different views. Thank you again. Since you are an admin, maybe you could help us by taking a look and giving us your opinion? Junebug52 03:44, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
A request for your consideration regarding CAT:AOTR
Hello fellow Wikipedia administrators open to recall category member! |
---|
I am leaving you this message because recent events have given me concern. When Aaron Brenneman and I, and others, first developed this category well over a year ago, we visualized it as a simple idea. A low hassle, low bureaucracy process. We also visualized it as a process that people would come to trust, in fact as a way of increasing trust in those admins who chose to subscribe to the notion of recall. The very informal approach to who is qualified to recall, what happens during it, and the process in general were all part of that approach. But recent events have suggested that this low structure approach may not be entirely effective. More than one of the recent recalls we have seen have been marred by controversy around what was going to happen, and when. Worse, they were marred by some folk having the perception, rightly or wrongly, that the admin being recalled was trying to change the rules, avoid the process, or in other ways somehow go back on their word. This is bad. It's bad for you the admin, bad for the trust in the process, and bad for the community as a whole. I think a way to address this issue is to increase the predictability of the process in advance. I have tried to do that for myself. In my User:Lar/Accountability page, I have given pretty concrete definitions of the criteria for recall, and of the choices I can make, and of the process for the petition, and of the process for other choices I might make (the modified RfC or the RfAr). I think it would be very helpful if other admins who have voluntarily made themselves subject to recall went to similar detail. It is not necessary to adopt the exact same conditions, steps, criteria, etc. It's just helpful to have SOME. Those are mine, fashion yours as you see fit, I would not be so presumptuous as to say mine are right for you. In fact I urge you not to just adopt mine, as I do change them from time to time without notice, but instead develop your own. You are very welcome to start with mine if you so wish, though. But do something. If you have not already, I urge you to make your process more concrete, now, while there is no pressure and you can think clearly about what you want. Do it now rather than later, during a recall when folk may not react well to perceived changes in process or commitment. Further, I suggest that after you document your process, that you give a reference to it for the benefit of other admins who may want to see what others have done. List it in this table as a resource for the benefit of all. If you use someone else's by reference rather than copy, I suggest you might want to do as Cacharoth did, and give a link to a specific version. Do you have to do these things? Not at all. These are suggestions from me, and me alone, and are entirely up to you to embrace or ignore. I just think that doing this now, thinking now, documenting now, will save you trouble later, if you should for whatever reason happen to be recalled. I apologise if this message seems impersonal, but with over 130 members in the category, leaving a personal message for each of you might not have been feasible, and I feel this is important enough to violate social norms a bit. I hope that's OK. Thanks for your time and consideration, and best wishes. Larry Pieniazek NOTE: You are receiving this message because you are listed in the Wikipedia administrators open to recall category. This is a voluntary category, and you should not be in it if you do not want to be. If you did not list yourself, you may want to review the change records to determine who added you, and ask them why they added you. |
...My guinea pigs and the "A"s through "O"s having felt this message was OK to go forward with (or at least not complained bitterly to me about it :) ), today it's the turn of the "P"s through "S"s! I'm hoping that more of you chaps/chapettes will point to their own criteria instead of mine :)... it's flattering but a bit scary! :) Also, you may want to check back to the table periodically, someone later than you in the alphabet may have come up with a nifty new idea. (yes I know you're on break but everyone gets one of these, not being around is no excuse!) ++Lar: t/c 04:16, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Question
Periodically I revisit your user page because I usually come across something that I find interesting.
This visit I noticed: "I moved to the most wonderful city in the United States, where I currently live and work." I have to admit I'm not particularly enthusiastic about US cities; I visit the US to catch up with friends and see the natural wonders, and where possible avoid the cities as much as possible.
I'm interested to know which city you consider to be the most wonderful. (If you don't want to state it publicly, I believe my "E-mail this user" is in working order.)
Meanwhile, Happy New Year! Pdfpdf (talk) 12:01, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Is she okay?
Does anyone know if she's okay? I'm a friend (that would prefer to stay anonymous), and I haven't heard from her for months and I'm very worried about her. I'm not trying to be nosy, and I don't need to know what she's up to; just a simple, "Yes, she's okay" or "No one knows" would suffice. 82.27.23.34 (talk) 16:15, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Hiya !
Hey Phaedriel, I know you are not around here right now, but I just want to thank you for the wonderful lay-out of your user page, which I gladly used for myself as well now :) I'm pretty new here and I don't know anything about all these codes you used, but I figured out how to edit it and work with it and I think my biography page looks pretty cool now. This is all thanks to you, so if you are ever coming back and you read this, feel free to check it out at User:AmandaPirato/Biography, thank you :) AmandaT/C 06:30, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Ashampoo
Wikipedia told me that you have deleted Ashampoo article on May 27, 2007. Why? Hallgrímskirkja (talk) 18:08, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Copyright violation. Page was basically a copy of http://www.download.com/Ashampoo/3260-20_4-61683.html . Also take a look at Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) - we will need several non-trivial unrelated sources writing about the company (newspapers, books, etc., not phonebook listings or company press releases) to keep an article on it. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 18:46, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Question about name preference
On your main page, you say "yes, I do have a Comanche name. But please, even if you're curious, I'd prefer not to be requested to say it. Some things, especially very intimate ones, are better left unsaid." Ok, I can respect that -- but I do have a question for you about it, if you do not mind my asking. (I will ask forgiveness in advance if I am overstepping any boundaries just by asking my meta question -- it is not my intent to challenge or insult your position, only to understand better.) My question is: is it common for Comanche (or all American-Indian) to treat their Indian name as intimate knowledge, or is this just your personal preference? That is, if I were to meet a different Comanche person, would it be forward of me to ask their Comanche name? If so, would that further extend to Cherokee, Hopi, etc., or is this mostly limited to Comanche mores?
Thank you very much. Oliepedia (talk) 18:17, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- She hasn't edited since September 2007, you may be better off asking someone else. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 18:29, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Phaedriel, your contribution The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran at Wikisource was recently found to be copyrighted in the U.S. through the Stanford Copyright Renewal Database. It is in the public domain in Lebanon and the U.K. however. What I expect will happen is that your contribution will be moved to the Wikilivres website, whose server is also probably in a country where The Prophet is in the public domain. The proposed removal is being discussed at s:WS:COPYVIO#The Prophet (Gibran). Discussions there can moved fairly quickly, so if the preceding link fails, you would need to check the archives for the discussion.
I regret your contribution isn't likely to remain at Wikisource. I've encountered your contributions there and have visited your user page there and here before, so allow me take the liberty of adding that since I had noticed (I'm not sure where) you had expressed an interest in the poet Lascelles Abercrombie while I was recently adding a text by him, s:An Essay Towards a Theory of Art, I wanted to suggest that you might enjoy that essay. 216.165.199.50 (talk) 06:40, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Poems by Katherine Mansfield
Dear Phaedriel,
This is the same user who notified you about the copyright status of The Prophet on Wikisource. I regret to tell you that your contibution Poems by Katherine Mansfield is also copyrighted in the United States and will probably have to be sent to Wikilivres as well. If you wish to intervene in any way, the discussion forum for the work is at s:WS:COPYVIO#Poems (Mansfield). The discussion is likely to be decided on and archived within two weeks. Again, sorry for the inconvenience a second time around. ResScholar 21:01, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
