Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Ajinkyatara

David Pye

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your edits to the article! I'm concerned that these edits aren't sourced, something that's very important for Wikipedia articles, especially ones on living people. Can you tell me where the facts you're mentioning came from?

Glad to see you're keen to make improvements to the article-I don't have any particular knowledge of Professor Pye's work but I wrote the article years ago as I wanted to make sure everyone who had presented the Christmas Lectures had an article on them. Blythwood (talk) 14:57, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I sourced it from the goven link: https://prabook.com/web/john_david.pye/1413449 Peracha1 (talk) 15:23, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply! I'm afraid that's not a reliable source, sorry, because it's machine-generated. Wikipedia's policy is that all information it contains should be reliable. It's better to have a short trustworthy article than a long one that isn't so reliable. The idea is to make sure that every sentence is linked to a reliable source that demonstrates it to be true. It's the same for other articles. Blythwood (talk) 22:39, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Campbells River

[edit]

Hello, when you edited this page you removed material, including the page summary section with a photo. I will work on restoring the material that was lost and will manually go through your version of the page to see if there is something that I agree with adding. In future, could you please try to use multiple small edits rather than one large one so that there is less mental fatigue for other editors trying to work out what they want to salvage. If your smaller edits are confined to a concept or a paragraph it is easier to conclude "yes, that edit was good, but this other one needs attention". Best wishes, Sminthopsis84 (talk) 20:58, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your efforts and particularly that you have written original text. However, I've restored the previous version which had references and considerable wikipedia coding. Please also see WP:PROMOTION. Sminthopsis84 (talk) 21:54, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Sminthopsis84 Thank you for pointing it out. I will have these points under consideration when I next edit an article Peracha1 (talk) 23:23, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, if you have time, and you clearly know a lot about the river, I wonder if you can deal with a problem that I tagged "The river is impounded by Ben Chifley Dam upstream of Bathurst and carries water released from the dam[clarification needed] for Bathurst's potable water supply." It is a tangled statement. In the coding I have an invisible comment "Where does the potable water exit the dam, back into the river?" I wonder if it would be true to say "water from the dam provides the majority of Bathurst's potable water supply". Sminthopsis84 (talk) 23:14, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Blythwood. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Jesper Nygart, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Blythwood (talk) 20:48, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced text

[edit]

It seems as though you may be adding copied and possibly AI-generated text to articles. Please do not do this. All text you add has to be on topics you understand, citing specific sources you got the information from. Hope that's OK. Blythwood (talk) 20:50, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
