[edit]Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Pathare Prabhu Community's Ancient links:. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles nor are such pages a forum. Thank you. Empty Buffer (talk) 08:54, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
I am surprised the way this article was deleted in spite of my request that the article be reinstated in the sub page, User:Pathare Prabhu/Pathare Prabhu Community's Ancient links and continue the editing. I am new to Wikipedia and so my suggestion was not in order however, if you can retrieve the article and continue the editorial work it will be good. The same article is available on the user page. So please do that, continue your WP:Lead with other editors as you had recommended. Pathare Prabhu (talk) 05:54, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hi! The article was deleted by SchuminWeb (talk · contribs) after being proposed for a deletion for a week with no (apparent) objections. Articles deleted in this way can be restored: I would imagine if you asked SchuminWeb to restore the article to User:Pathare Prabhu/Pathare Prabhu community's ancient links then they would be happy to oblige. Empty Buffer's comments, above, are sound - use talk pages to discuss how to improve articles. TFOWR 06:56, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
- Heh, I see you have asked SchuminWeb. Wait and see what their response is. TFOWR 06:58, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
Dear, she has restored the article and now you better take it over and start the correction work. My recent addition was to help you get the back ground of this event mentined on the page. I feel that can give you the material for the introduction of your improved version. Problem with this lady is she looks always very unhappy about new articles? This unnerves me. [edit]- You should also check out WP:OR on writing and WP:FIRST on your first article. I would also consider using the {{help}} template when you need help. This can bring exprienced editors to your page, who can help you alot more than I possibly can. Though I will try, as best as I can, be available to help. Please remember, I am in the US (I am assuming you are in Indian) and with the time differences, it might take me some time to get back to you, but I will. Good luck with your article and message me as needed. - Neutralhomer • Talk • 06:34, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes I am in India. All references given are genuine but it is difficult to say where they are refered in an English Language paper. You may use {{help}} template to attract other editors for help. Pathare Prabhu (talk) 07:16, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Help with Pathare Prabhu
[edit]My article presently on userspace, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Pathare_Prabhu/Pathare_Prabhu_Community%27s_Ancient_links needs references to make it upto wikipedia standard. The main reference I have used in this article is from a book printed in 1862 and at present the information in that book is considered as authentic by all memebers of this community however that book is not in English but in Marathi, how to make that book acceptble to Wikipedia? Help me. As there cannot be any other references to this topic; it is very essential that Wiki accept the contents of that book as valid and accept the article. At present I am uploading photos of each page of that book on commons. One suggestion is that I should put that book in Wikisource, how to do it? Pathare Prabhu (talk) 08:35, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- We cannot have articles with only one reference.
- You need several references to reliable sources to show that the subject is notable. Please see WP:VRS, WP:FIRST.
- For more help on that, see WP:ONESOURCE. Chzz ► 09:19, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- Do NOT upload photos of a book to Commons unless you are sure it is in the 'public domain'. We cannot accept copyrighted materials like that. Thanks, Chzz ► 09:21, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- I checked the copyright status of that specific book, and due to its age, it falls into the public domain, as explained in Commons:Commons:Copyright#India - so I have used that licencing tag on those four images; File:---File---Page last.png, File---Pathare Prabhu Chronicle1.png, File---Chart2.png and File---Chart1.png Chzz ► 09:42, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, can you include brief description of text in image (charts) used in Pathare Prabhu article. It will help non-Marathi readers to understand. Also queued those files for renaming to Pathare Prabhu man 19th century.png, Pathare Prabhu woman 19th century.png, chart_solar_lineage_ of_Pathare_Prabhu.png and chart_lunar_lineage_ of_Pathare_Prabhu.png ≈ Prometheus «talk» 18:31, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
I appreciate your concern. I shall prepare two charts in English so that non Marathi readers can understand them. I am ready to explain meaning of these charts also for the knowledge of non Marathi readers. I shall retain the original images also as they are proof of authenticity. Let me know your opinion so that I shall add them there. You have queued those images for renaming, what am I suposed to do in it, let me know. I shall rename them as you suggest. Or you can rename them and make them available again on the mainspace page, Pathare Prabhu. If you rename them, send me their file names on my talk page, here for my record. Pathare Prabhu (talk) 05:32, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- You can include the same in english in image description page. Regarding file rename, you dont need to do anything, once the files are renamed all the respective entries / pages will change automaticaly. I will also put a comment here. ≈ Prometheus «talk» 09:03, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- cf. WP:UPI, WP:CAP and WP:Image file names for guidelines on image upload and caption. ≈ Prometheus «talk» 11:57, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Image file renaming
[edit]Please, Image File:"---File---English_Chart1.PNG", rename as "English Translation of Chart1". And inform me on this talk page. Pathare Prabhu (talk) 10:21, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
I have added three plates to show in English the information given in the charts1 and 2, with a separate plate to give translation of terms used in the charts in article Pathare Prabhu. This I did in accordance with suggestion from editor. I could not put these plates in one line. Editor should help to do it. Pathare Prabhu (talk) 11:25, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
My reply
[edit]Purpose of puting this article on Wikipedia is to show as representative of fonts used extensively on Indian computers using ASCII code while writing Indic languages. Devanagari being in use for most of the Indian languages namely Hindi, Marathi, Sindhhi, Konkani, Nepali, Katchhi, Bhojpuri and Sanskrit. This representation is esential for those who want to know about what other alternative methods are used by Indic languages to write on computers. By removing this article Wiki will be deprived of important information on that subject. I am improving the article by siting more details to imporove the utility of this article; I definetly need time to collect that more information however, as it is the article is doing the purpose of representation of ASCII based fonts used in India for Indic Languags and so I vehemently oppose the deletion move. The problem is, other similar fonts using ASCII code are not in Public domain like this Kothare fonts and so I cannot refer to them due to the restrictions lead down by the Wiki authority. I have also put this note on talk page of Kothare fonts. Pathare Prabhu (talk) 08:51, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
I am presently working on my other article Clip font. There I found that some editor is adding some remarks about prospect of Unicode and those of Clip font. There I find that he is writing in such a way that he wants to promote Unicode as against Clip font technique. I think it is agains the set policy of WP; this I say because Diana, an administrator of Rajput has writen to one on that talk page that, WP is an Encyclopaedia and not a platform to promote any thing or oppose anything. If Diana has put the WP policy correctly I feel this editor is doing something against the set policy of WP. I want to know who is correct, whether Diana is corect or this editor? Pathare Prabhu (talk) 09:52, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Facts however unpalatable may be, must be mentioned here so that no wrong details are given. I see the editor (Crissov) is insisting for the international concepts but I must tell him that in India these international standards are not values as they are in other places. I feel Wikipedia is a data bank, and so all true things must be recorded for the information of the readers. Any deleting of my sentences may please the editor but it is like disinforming the readers. Pathare Prabhu (talk) 12:50, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

APPEAL TO YOU
Reg: [BRAHMAN PUJAN] , [UNIVERSAL PRAYERS] . written by [Naresh Sonee]
On wikipedia , These above two pages are far older than the present article [Brahman]
References of above titles are also available on New York site - http://www.printsasia.com/BookDetails.aspx?Id=445813482
Meanwhile, Can your good selves in Wiki Indian Community re-create a precise pages on [Naresh Sonee] & his book [Brahmand Pujan] – [Brahmaand Pujan] . However, Sonee is the writer of this book [Brahmand Pujan] written in 1999 . registered with Government of India- HRRD. Details of the registration is provided here on http://brhmaandpujanbook.tripod.com/ . More than sufficient, news and reviews are there on http://brhmaandpujan-news-reviews.tripod.com/
Since 5-6 yrs, for one or the other reason pages of [Naresh Sonee] & [Brahmand Pujan] are faced by communal bias from outside India so these articles over and again get deleted here in Wikipedia for minor reasons. However, many hits of - Naresh Sonee reflects on google search engine also. So, I request Wiki Indian community to kindly come forward and generously help these two pages to grow, as I am fed up to fight my case alone here [left] and moved out long back. Meanwhile, such an important info/issue on ‘Indian literature’ which adds & spell ‘new meaning /dimension’ to Brahman -should it stay lost else ignored? Your community panel has to judge at last.
Myself, will not be on Wikipedia, for the same i apologise, but- pls. help these two pages to get reinstalled, reap, sow and grow, if you too feel so, I appeal to do this munificent favour. Regards- Dralansun (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:32, 27 December 2010 (UTC).
The article Kothare fonts has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No sign of notability
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Bulwersator (talk) 06:19, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Re:Kothare Fonts
[edit]"move to delete some files to save space on the wiki site" - it is completely unrelated
- It is not necessary to save space, hard drives are cheap
- deleting is not saving space, it only makes data inaccessible
- moving files is done to allow other Wikipedias use the free files uploaded to enwiki

Priesthoods of ancient Rome
[edit]Thank you for your comment at User:Cynwolfe/Priesthoods of ancient Rome. I'll keep that in mind as I develop the article. This was a draft another user and I started at one point, and I appreciate also being reminded that it needs to be finished and brought into mainspace. Best, Cynwolfe (talk) 12:50, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
