Speedy deletion nomination of Gaulstown, County Westmeath
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Gaulstown, County Westmeath requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://staniforthfamily.com/GaulstownHouse.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hog Farm (talk) 15:24, 9 April 2020 (UTC)

Goldenisland moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Goldenisland, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Flags in infoboxes
[edit]I see some of your Irish parish stub where you have added flag icons. Such article do not add the flag icons. I remove a few that I happened to come across but maybe there are more that you can remove: see WP:INFOBOXFLAG. Good luck. ww2censor (talk) 11:19, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Logo of the Finnish Refugee Council from the organisation's website.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Logo of the Finnish Refugee Council from the organisation's website.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:14, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for this edit. To aid those who work on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Encyclopaedia Britannica please use the template {{Cite EB1911}}
if you wish to link to a Wikisource:EB1911 article. It places Wikipedia articles into various maintenance categories and for you it automatically adds the standard (editor, date, encyclopaedia name etc):
{{Cite EB1911|ref=none |wstitle=Westmeath |volume=28 |page=548
- Chisholm, Hugh, ed. (1911). . Encyclopædia Britannica. Vol. 28 (11th ed.). Cambridge University Press. p. 548.
There are other specific options which you will find documented in the template documentation page. There are also two other templates: {{EB1911}}
which provides attribution for use if you copy text from EB1911 directly into an article (see WP:FREECOPYING); and {{EB1911 poster}}
as an alternative for a link in an external links section.

Northern Ireland
[edit]Hi there. I've come across some of the articles you've created, generally very good job. One item to be aware of though. You keep creating and editing articles in Northern Ireland and saying they're in Ireland and putting them in categories for the (Republic of) Ireland. These need to be in Northern Ireland which as you're aware is a separate country. We use countries not landmasses for Wikipedia articles. So Belfast, Northern Ireland and Paris, France, not Belfast, Ireland or Paris, Europe. Thanks. Canterbury Tail talk 17:38, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for the constructive criticism, I will admit I'm never what to put, with a lot of people not agreeing with the term 'Northern Ireland' I've just been putting the general 'Ireland', but if the overall consensus is to use Northern Ireland, I will go ahead and do so from now on. Thanks again. PatWhelehan (talk) 18:05, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah we use countries, and while some people may not like the word Northern Ireland or the fact it's in the UK, it is a worldwide accepted thing. Even by the (Republic of) Ireland. Some of the stubs you were using were specifically linking to the Republic of Ireland which is clearly incorrect. One thing you may wish to look at, not that you have any issues, is the Ireland Manual of Style. And yes confusingly this one covers the island of Ireland, not just the country of Ireland. It's the main guideline document for specifically Ireland related topics. If you need any assistance or advice I spend a lot of my time in Northern Ireland related articles and try my best to be neutral between opposing sides that crop up from time to time. So just drop a note on my talk page if you want to know anything, or just run something past someone else. Take care. Canterbury Tail talk 18:36, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

Westmeath V not Westmeath
[edit]Hiya. I happened upon a few articles of late which, upon a quick check, it seems you were kind enough to take the time to create. Maith a'fear. While I appreciate that these things sort themselves out over time (and it is the nature of collaborative editing that improvements and corrections are made in due course), I might (with tongue very firmly in cheek) recommend that you take a few secs to check one thing before committing/creating future articles :) Namely that perhaps you might take a quick sconce at a Westmeath version of this map, before saving changes to articles on places that aren't in Westmeath :) (Sorry. Couldn't help myself :) ) Welcome. And happy editing! [1][2][3][4]. Guliolopez (talk) 00:17, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
- Separately, if you need to confirm an entry in the Irish grid reference system, go to gridreference.ie. As a rule of thumb, while places in the midlands and Meath(ish) start with an "N", if you are anywhere else, and you're adding a grid ref that starts with an "N", then it's probably not correct. (Waterford/Wexford are generally "S", Kerry references are "V"s and "Q"s). Otherwise perhaps consider just avoiding grid refs at all. Just to be safe. Its probably better to have no infobox entry than to have a demonstrably incorrect and misleading one. Otherwise perhaps consider using a "blank" infobox as your starting point. As it seems that "reusing" ones from Westmeath is causing some issues.... Cheers. Guliolopez (talk) 00:42, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
Nomination of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Lord of the Rings: Gollum until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:43, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
The article Galway Technology Park has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable business park. Zero indication that the subject meets WP:GNG, WP:NBUILDING or any other applicable query. A search of the main newspapers of record in Ireland (including the Irish Times for example), returns only trivial passing mentions. The refs here barely support the text. Not to mind establishing notability.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Guliolopez (talk) 18:22, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
The article Athlone Business and Technology Park has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable business park. No indication that the subject meets WP:GNG, WP:NBUSINESS, WP:NBUILDING or any other applicable criteria. A WP:BEFORE search of news sources, including for example a search of the Irish Times returns only a small number of trivial passing mentions. There is nothing in the body or the sources to establish why or how this business park (a collection of 9 or 10 generic/cookie-cutter office blocks) is in any way notable. Wikipedia is not a directory of business parks. Or a directory of anything else for that matter.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

The article Brottonstown Little has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:GEOLAND. The subject of this article is a small rural field in the middle of Westmeath. Barely 240 metres square. With no buildings and no inhabitants. It fails GEOLAND by some measure. It is just another example of pointless noise from this series of socking editors.
