The hall of wonderment

Thank you

[edit]

Thank you for helping out with the lead FAC. I think I'd get it myself but at my current pace, it certainly saved some days if not weeks, so this help came at handy very much.

Now, you once said you wanted to try on one of Si, P, and S. I don't plan to take on any of these but if you happen to need some help with getting the content in the tip-top shape or advice on how to even get there, please feel free to ask. (Like you may see that my review for thorium for DS, I believe, helped improve the quality, and I like the result so much that I want to get this thing featured just because it seems so easy at this point.)--R8R (talk) 12:03, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ESEAP Conference 2018

[edit]

Hello,

I’m Punchalee, a member of the Communication Committee of the ESEAP Conference. ESEAP Conference 2018 is a regional conference for Wikimedia communities throughout the ESEAP region: ESEAP stands for East, Southeast Asia, and Pacific. Taking place in Bali, Indonesia on 5–6 May 2018, this is the first regional conference for these Wikimedia communities.

East and Southeast Asia and the Pacific are the most under-represented regions within the Wikimedia community. There is a significant number of Wikimedia contributors in our regions, yet we continue to struggle in establishing a well-managed community. This conference will bring participants from various ESEAP communities together in order to better understand the issues and to look for solutions. It also aims to connect people of the Wikimedia movement within ESEAP regions, to share ideas, and to build regional collaborations that are impossible to achieve through online communication.

We’ve got a lot of participation from several countries, but we’re lacking from your country. As we need more participants from your country, we believe that your contribution and participation would be a valuable asset to the success of this event. If you would like to participate in the conference, please do fill the form as soon as possible (by April 5, 2018) and we’ll inform you if you get selected for the conference.

Thank you and we hope to see you soon. --Pilarbini (talk) 11:15, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Pilarbini: I have no need, and cannot, attend the conference. I no longer need to devote so much time here, being a university student and a mathematician at once. That is all. Parcly Taxel 12:49, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I see, appreciate your contribution. Good luck with everything! --Pilarbini (talk) 12:52, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hyperbolic svgs

[edit]

Can you take the recursion deeper towards the ideal circle? There's little value to me to have SVG if it has less detail than the PNG it is replacing. It should look at least as good at 2520 pixels. Tom Ruen (talk) 14:07, 10 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Also I don't know why, but my Chrome browser (Version 67.0.3396.99) doesn't show all the red heptagons in SVG rendering, while good in FireFox and IE. Tom Ruen (talk) 14:11, 10 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Tomruen:  Done just by changing a 0.99 to 0.999 in my code. Parcly Taxel 10:53, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Shubnikovs

[edit]

On 17 November 2020 you added a link to Lev Shubnikov in the article Magnetic space group with the comment "Shubnikov needs more love?". Unfortunately I believe that Shubnikov groups are actually named after Alexei Vasilievich Shubnikov who currently doesn't have an article on Wikipedia. See for example: https://www.encyclopedia.com/science/dictionaries-thesauruses-pictures-and-press-releases/shubnikov-alexei-vasilievich. I propose to remove the link until I write an article on A.V. Shubnikov.

New article Alexei Vasilievich Shubnikov now created and link to Lev Shubnikov from Magnetic space group fixed. Best, GreatStellatedDodecahedron (talk) 15:34, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you today for Fluorine, introduced (in 2014): "Fluorine. Atomic number 9. The lightest halogen, most reactive element, an extreme challenge to isolate… yet it is found everywhere from toothpaste to uranium enrichment plants."! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:20, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thinking of rerunning this on the Main Page at WP:TFA ... it hasn't generated any comments yet at WP:URFA/2020B, but I've checked the history and talk page archives, and I'm running various tools meant to catch mistakes, and it seems to be holding up well (for an element). What do you think, is this ready for a second Main Page appearance in January? Would you like more time to fiddle with it? (Btw, "About 20% of manufactured HF is a byproduct of fertilizer production" seems to need a citation or possibly removal ... your call.) - Dank (push to talk) 18:08, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm thinking of January 24, btw. - Dank (push to talk) 22:57, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
