Some of my friends liks Jay Chou's music. But Problem is they can't read Chinese and understand Chinese culture. So, I think a link for lyrics and translation is necessary. Also The Link "Jay Chou interviewed by Reuters " is out of date. It can't be found anymore. So, I think it can be replaced by "Jay Chou interviewed by CNN". I am a Chinese and from taiwan. I think Jay Chou's music can help western people understand our culture.

Taiwan is INDEPENDANT and is not associated with the ROC. Are you racist?

(user's note: I actually didn't write the above statement. This was left by IP user 218.254.252.143.)

My stance on Taiwan: the post-WWII treaties state that the Island of Taiwan would be returned to the Republic of China, which, at the time, was China Proper (i.e. the big China). Then the Communists won, and they became China Proper. The land given to the Republic of China would have remained with the Communists if they kept the name "Republic of China," but instead, they became the "People's Republic of China." As we know, the text in the Potsdam, etc. treaties remain unrevised, and still say that Japan would have to return land to the Republic of China. -Pandacomics 00:19, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Note how I didn't mention the word "independent" or the phrase "Taiwan belongs to China"

Although Taiwan has their own government elected by their own people, passport, flag, envious educational system, etc. BUT there are only 24 nations in this world recognize Taiwan as a country - the nations doesn't include superpowers like US or the UK. Where are the rest? I have to say that I support the reunification of One China EricOng 09:46, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah... I don't like at all the fact that the PRC and Taiwan are split. Some Taiwanese people are ridiculously rejecting the fact that they do not have Chinese origins, and would rather have Japanese heritage other than Chinese. The Simplified and Traditional Chinese thing is something I would not quit on because unification is my goal. I really do hope some day The People's Republic of China and the Republic of China would be combined into one. You don't get it? You don't have to. ReGoG Now 23:11 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Zhu Da

[edit]

I do not really have a clear picture of it, but according to what I have observed, here are my two cents worth. If you have observed properly, all track 1 in every single S.H.E album is considered as their zhu da. In the contrary, Jay Chou has Qian Li Zhi Wai (track 3) as his Still Fantasy zhu da. To my explanation, a song that will be normally considered as a hit or a song that represents the album that will be played frequently in music stores/widely recognized. For example, Bu Xiang Zhang Da and Super Star which are widely populated. Bo Si Mao IS a zhu da too for their 6th album considering that I do not really like that song.

Basically, there are always "di er zhu da ge" which means second zhu da. Ring Ring Ring, Beauty Up My Life are widely accepted as their second zhu da ge. If you had observed properly, you would normally find track 2 of their songs in an album a second zhu da ge. As for their second album, Youth Society, Re Dai Yu Lin is widely recognized partly because it was composed by Jay Chou? In addition, Wo Ai Ni in their Encore album could be possibly considered as their second zhu da for Encore. Perhaps you can add me in MSN. EricOng 07:59, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

S.H.E article

[edit]

Hi. Sorry about this little...battle, I guess you could say, we've been having over the S.H.E article. I understand your view on the matter, about having to present both sides, good and bad, about a group. It's just when I came on just a few minutes ago and I saw that part about them in decline, I sort of, well...panicked. I can't help it, I love them so much! I don't want them to be in decline, it freaks me out. But when I re-read what you had added and thought about it, it makes sense. And hey, just because they're having a rough time lately doesn't mean they won't snap back with album #10, right? I've only been a fan for about a month (a friend I have who moved here from Xi'An in China told me about them), so forgive me if I'm not as informed as you. Is reconciliation at all possible? I really don't want to be fighting with one of the few other people I've found who worships S.H.E as much as I do. LuvElla4eva 01:47, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly. I will try to find the article backing my editing and provide you the link for it ASAP. Sky Divine 22:46, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

--My apologies, Pandacomics. After researching, I have found from www.wenxuecity.com (A popular site for oversea Chinese people) that S.H.E. actually later did not make that remark. They were once accused of claiming they are not Chinese but Taiwanese on a Japanese TV show. S.H.E. later denied it themselves and gave reasonable evidence to back themselves up. The link to a more depth of the whole incident can be found [here]. Sorry for the confusion. As you might notice from the article, S.H.E. actually supports Chinese reunification and voted for KMT during the elections, signifying their allegiance to the Pan-Blue. If you don't mind, I would like to find a place to add that information onto the S.H.E. page. Sky Divine 23:50, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

--They sang at a KMT rally? That I do not know. If you find the article, please send it to me; thanks :D. However, I know that they support the KMT because when Ella was injured, former Taipei Mayor Ma Ying-jiu visited her at the hospital. That's a strong evidence of their support. Plus, there are other evidences out there as well.Sky Divine 19:19, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A bit tricky, but will review. A-class articles are expected to largely meet the featured article criterias, so I recommend you to submit the article to featured article review instead and see what needs to be fixed. AQu01rius (User • Talk) 03:06, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have brought it up to WP:FAR (hope you don't mind) and added a initial comment of mine. I will take a further look into this article later. I am Taiwanese also, so I might be able to identify if any information is missing. AQu01rius (User • Talk) 17:36, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Shit I messed up. WP:FAR is only for featured articles. I admit I didn't know that. Wow, congratulations on going this far with S.H.E.; already in FAC?! Best of luck. But just a note: have you heard about {{cite web}}? I think it's a cleaner way to present all the references, but since you have so many it might not be worth it to start conversion. Also, I'd suggest writing out in plain English "All references are Chinese unless otherwise indicated" since basically, all references are Chinese! S.H.E origin

Hey Pandacomics. Remember how S.H.E denied the fact that they were Taiwanese after the whole big controversy of them claiming themselves as Taiwanese at an interview? Well, because they actually denied it, shouldn't the be a "Chinese" band instead of "Taiwanese", because they even claimed themselves as Chinese? Just asking to see what you're opinion is on this. Hey! I'm going on holidays for the next 3 weeks, leaving in about 12 hours. Jay Chou has been strangely and thankfully quiet of vandalism lately, but still can I ask you to do some casual babysitting for the article? I don't think anything special will need to be done, just vandal reverts probably. It feels weird to be asking you (or anyone else) actually, since it doesn't really belong to anyone, nor is it anyone's responsibility; but I figured I should ask someone I trust just in case. I sleep a little better for these 3 weeks knowing that the article isn't going to be trashed. Thanks! SeleneFN 07:57, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

S.H.E and KMT

[edit]

Because Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, I believe there is nothing wrong with inserting politics here and there about S.H.E's support for KMT and eventual Chinese reunification that you have removed a few weeks ago when I tried to put that up there. It's an encyclopedia, so our goal is to put as much information into it as possible. We should not remove some things while leaving others. For example, if S.H.E was involved with drugs and were arrested, wouldn't that be in the article? If so, why shouldn't some politics be? It would just make the article even better. What is your stance on this? Thanks dude. Sky Divine 20:40, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Response to message on User talk:SeleneFN

[edit]

Perhaps I am entirely clueless, but honestly I never realized there was a competition between the S.H.E. and Jay Chou article, nor have I ever felt you were being "selfish" with the Jay Chou article, or sensed even the slightest bit of hostility between us. I certainly hope there isn't! I have read your User Page before so I am aware of your mammoth-sized effort on the S.H.E. article. I also know you were (sort of) "nominated" for FA status indirectly. I was happy that a Chinese pop culture-related article was finally on-the-way to making itself a small spotlight in Wikipedia which claims itself to have a global and infinite knowledge base.

I know very little about S.H.E. beyond what is on Wikipedia. Outside of Wikipedia, I at least know there are few resources on this group beyond a description of events (I mean as opposed to editorials or analysis). For this reason, I truly believe the S.H.E. article is many-fold harder to write than Jay Chou; in this respect, you have "won" over the Jay Chou article long ago already, that is if you must force a comparison between them. Personally I don't believe this type of comparison is necessary or healthy, because the only similarity between the S.H.E. and Jay Chou article is a superficial one, that is they are Chinese pop artists.

Thank you for your honesty regarding the Jay Chou article. I wasn't aware that you were being selfish. I think lots of people keep a silent watch on that article (due to his fame) and many helped, including yourself. Although it would be fair to say that I recently contributed a share of my time to it, I have never considered it "mine." In a few weeks time when I will only play a maintance role on the Jay Chou article, no one will remember or care about who contributed to or nominated the article for FA. I worked on it only because I believe there should be a reasonably comprehensive article on him, with the FA status to match his talents, so that English-speaking audiences will at least have this to help decide whether or not to like Jay Chou.

As for the S.H.E. article, I thank you for the invitation to make edits to it. Once again, I know very little about the group, so any modification I make is likely technical. It would help if you let me know when you plan to nominate it again, so I will allocate my time on the S.H.E. article accordingly. All the best to you! SeleneFN 18:12, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey sorry about reverting 2 of your edits. I'm in the middle of copyediting S.H.E. and the FA criteria 1a is needing a lot of work. Flow and tone mostly, but also trimming unnecessary words. A lot of trimming... it'll take me some time. SeleneFN 17:42, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's "Ms". And yes it's PhD candidate :) because I just passed my comprehensive exam 2 months ago! Actually I started working on the Jay article during all my breaks from studying.
The project sounds like a great idea! It came across my mind too to do something like that, but 1. I don't have that much time, and 2. my interest is in C-pop is really only Jay Chou, and if I write anything else it'll probably be related to him.
Good luck on the A-mei article! SeleneFN 18:01, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I have only copyedited the "Music Career" part. Go to my User:SeleneFN. There are 3 links for you. General comments which you should read first, then a commentary on the Music Career part. The last link is my copyedit. I will not directly copyedit S.H.E. because my writing style is far too different from yours, and you may find it too much of a shock for you. I won't be offended if you don't use it (mind you, I wrote that part on a word processor, so you'll have to add back all the wikilinks and article references yourself) Hopefully, with the commentary on your version, you'll be able to get some hints and copyedit the rest of the article yourself. Let me know if you still need more help. I think this article has all the references it could need for FA, it just needs a bit of trimming and it'll make FA. Good luck!SeleneFN 05:38, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

S.H.E political affiliations

[edit]

Yes, but, in this case, it builds more to why S.H.E would not claim themselves as Taiwanese. I wouldn't just go around writing what S.H.E supports and what they don't. However, because it links to why they would not say they're Taiwanese (note it was a huge controversy), I think claiming they support the KMT because of actual rallies they went to to sing for them is legit in this case. Sky Divine 13:18, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copyediting

[edit]

I would remove the ratings. It seems like you've delved a little too deeply into the shows themselves (and their popularity), distracting people from reading about S.H.E. TV dramas are a group effort and it is difficult to attribute good ratings to any one particular person. If you mentioned that they were the lead characters, then maybe you can mention one or 2 ratings... but put the rating immediately after you tell people they are leads, that way the reader makes that mental link easily. In general though, I would stay away from numbers such as ratings (sparingly is OK) because it becomes incredibly boring to read a paragraph of numbers. Heh... trust me, science articles I read are like that and they're awfully dry... SeleneFN 00:48, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I totally understand why you would want to put ratings in the article. It's always important to remind the readers of your subjects' notability. I think given proper phrasing, TV show ratings can be put on the article. However, I was reading this paragraph

In October 2005, all three members of S.H.E starred in the drama, Reaching for the Stars (真命天女),[e] and sang its opening theme, "Star Light" (星光). Reaching for the Stars had the misfortune of airing its pilot episode during the final episode of The Prince Turns Into A Frog (王子變青蛙). While the average rating for the pilot episode of Reaching for the Stars was 1.17, the final episode of The Prince Turns Into A Frog set a 2005 record for highest average episode rating (6.93) and highest episode rating (11.35).[60] The second episode of Reaching for the Stars hadn't fared much better. Pitted against the final episode of It Started With A Kiss, Reaching for the Stars averaged a rating of 1.45, while It Started With A Kiss averaged 3.85, including a rating of 7.56 for the 15-24 age bracket.[61] Reaching For The Stars not only attained mediocre television ratings, but was also expensive to produce, with each episode costing over NTD450,000.[62]

and one thing immediately jumps out: there isn't a single mention of S.H.E. in it except for "S.H.E. starred in the drama..."! You've dedicated the whole paragraph to the TV shows themselves, and it's not even all about S.H.E.'s shows. But before I go on, I want to ask - when you say "Decline and Revival" in the title, do you mean S.H.E.'s overall decline in popularity or their decline in their TV careers? Just because they acted in a few dramas with poor ratings (and it climbed high later anyways), I don't know if this hints and their overall decline or just in TV. It depends what angle you want to throw on the article.

About the ratings themselves - if the ratings never improved even when aired without the finales of other popular dramas, then it can't be blamed on these other more popualar dramas. I think it is sufficient to just say

"In October 2005, all three members of S.H.E starred in the drama Reaching for the Stars (真命天女),[e] and sang its opening theme, "Star Light" (星光). The show was poorly received (average rating 1.45) compared to other dramas aired during that period (such as The Prince Turns Into A Frog, with an average of rating 6.93), suggesting at S.H.E.'s dwindling popularity."

Or something like that. Sorry about cutting away so much. I was reading that paragraph thinking "what is the point you are trying to make?" "Why is the second episode mentioned?" "Why do I need to know these other dramas broke records?" "Why should I care the show was expensive to make?"... anyways, I think you get the point. Anyways, just a suggestion! SeleneFN 05:04, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would think graphing out the shows' ratings would be a bit overboard. As I said before, it is hard to attribu

However, I was wondering if you can make an audio clip that is extracted from a Youtube clip. RE: COI & edit war

[edit]

Hi, I'm a RC patroller & WP:FACT checker in Wikipedia. Seeing both u & Jpatokal have been upholding one of the five pillars of Wikipedia on the article 'Ho Yeow Sun' all these while, I've filed a page protection request (outcome pending) until the case is fully resolved as per talkpage discussion, in view of the on-going acts of sockpuppetry & anonymous IPs (recalcitrant sockpuppet-masters or their misguided accomplices) reverting such inclusion unabatedly even at these very moment.[2]. Do follow-up for COI or ANI resolution whichever most appropriate, as I've given final warnings to Jing 13 & Cane sg (likely sockpuppet) earlier that were ignored or circumvented. This nonsense has to end for the common good of Wikipedia in the long run. Rgds. -- Aldwinteo (talk) 08:04, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can show you the youtube video of JOlin Tsai at the Valentines Day concert with Ma Ying-jeou and other members of the KMT. I can also show you the video where Jolin declines to say her political viewpoint.

It would be relevant to her career because some people might not support her/like her/buy her music if she supports the KMT. ANd also, cant this be included in her personal life stuff? Why does the article have completely all career related stuff?Beautiful Formosa (talk) 07:45, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Prefix"

[edit]

WRT to this edit, "prefix" very definitely is a verb. See wiktionary:prefix#Verb. That being said, you were right to revert, not because "prefix" is not a verb (it is), but because it was used incorrectly by the prior editor.

Bad:

Mainland China fans often prefix the title tiānhòu (, literally Heavenly Queen) before her name...

Good:

Mainland China fans often place the title tiānhòu (, literally Heavenly Queen) before her name...

But also good:

Mainland China fans often prefix her name with the title tiānhòu (, literally Heavenly Queen)...

redundant categories

[edit]

From Wikipedia:Categories: Usually, articles should not be in both a category and its subcategory. Because Category:Fahrenheit members is now in Category:Members of boy bands and Category:Mandopop singers, the individual members do not need to be in those categories. That's the rationale that's used everywhere on Wikipedia categories. Hope that helps.--Mike Selinker (talk) 19:32, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • For the members of Fahrenheit, I've put back the categories to my last version, with hopes you'll agree with the above reasoning.--Mike Selinker (talk) 19:38, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Noted. But none of the "(X) members" categories have gotten the axe yet. Nonetheless, I would be willing to put back the Mandopop singers categories, but not the Members of boy bands categories, as putting those back would invite every member of the Backstreet Boys, O-Town, and so on to flood that category again.--Mike Selinker (talk) 20:17, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you - regarding fansites

[edit]

Thank you for clarifying with the fansites. I deleted the fansites because they didn't seem to be sources for the article, and there was an excessive amount of them. What I meant by "preventing disputes" is that I deleted all of the fansites instead of keeping some, because there is the possibiliy of people starting to edit external links all the time to add these sites again while deleting others (due to them believing certain sites to be more important or as advertisements). But since fansites, as you pointed out (unless they include information not otherwise cited) shouldn't be in the external links anyway, I guess this isn't a problem. Sorry if I wasn't clear with the summary before, and thank you for clarifying. I'll try to do better next time. Dessymona (talk) 13:05, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removing state names

[edit]

Hey, I saw your recent edits to Vanness Wu, and I do understand where you're coming from. The previous line already states he's born in the United States, so putting it again is redundant, I feel. I also realize that adding the state may seem superfluous and/or nationalistic to some. We've had some interaction on a wikiproject, and I hope you know this isn't my intent! (That's why I went searching for WP policy :)) I'm inquiring over at WP:NC:CITY for clarification on applicability of the policy to article contents, since as a new editor it's something I certainly want to understand for all my future endeavors, as well. In this particular case, probably just "Los Angeles" is fine, but how about we just leave it as is for now, and see what we hear back? (Thank goodness he wasn't born in Springfield -- there are a few dozen "Springfields" in the US, LOL!) Hopefully you realize my goal is clarity and unambiguity, not pushing a US bias. :) Links to previous consensus-reaching discussions that you think could be useful to me are welcome, as well. Thanks for all your hard wikiwork! --hamu♥hamu (talk) 17:45, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seems there's no consensus on how to handle this issue so far. No wonder I see it pop up all over the place! For this particular article, are you amenable to just putting "Los Angles" with appropriate wikilink? --hamu♥hamu (talk) 15:57, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I hear ya and get where you're coming from. For most US cities, the states are actually needed for clarification, because city names are repeated so much within the country (but not within states). As long as things are clear -- whether it be from listing the state, using a wikilink to a town's article, or unnecessary due to the well-known nature of the town -- I don't care how we arrive there. :) (I wonder if other large countries like China have a lot of repeated city names? Do you ever use the Chinese wiki to see if they have tons of town articles? I'm just curious as to how other wikis handle this, or if they even need to!) Cheers! --hamu♥hamu (talk) 18:39, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Allegations of apartheid deletion notification

[edit]

Some time ago, you participated in a deletion discussion concerning Allegations of Chinese apartheid. I thought you might like to know that the parent article, Allegations of apartheid, was recently nominated for deletion. Given that many of the issues that have been raised are essentially the same as those on the article on which you commented earlier, you may have a view on whether Allegations of apartheid should be kept or deleted. If you wish to contribute to the discussion, please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Allegations of apartheid (fifth nomination). -- ChrisO (talk) 17:43, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He's not spamming (as best as I can tell, I can't read chinese). His contributions appear to be in good faith but poorly thought out. He's certainly violated 3RR in his attempt to insert whatever it was he was inserting, but I would suggest toning down the 'spam' warning for now. I don't know if he is responsive on talk pages (as he hasn't really responded to your entreaties about peacock wording, at least not on his talk page) and I know you have put some effort into dealing with him, but he probably shouldn't be blocked as a spammer. Also, he has opened a WP:RS/N discussion here (how I came across his edits) that you ought to be aware of. Thanks for any patience you can offer and thanks for attempting to engage with this editor. Hey,

Regarding your recent edit to Angela Chang... I know that info (simplified/trad/pinyin versions of her name, and DOB) is already in the infobox, but I'm trying to follow the standard that seems to have been set in most other Wikipedia articles on Chinese people (both celebrities and other figures), where the information is included both in the infobox and in the introduction. In this case, I think, a bit of redundancy is ok, considering how people are likely to read the article (using the infobox as a quick reference or a way to situate this person among other similar artists/celebrities, but not necessary looking at the infobox if they're reading the article proper or just looking to see who this person is). For more examples if this sort of redundancy, check out Jay Chou, Teresa Teng, Hu Jintao, Mao Zedong (those are just a few random articles that I tried, and which all have that information repeated in the introduction and the infobox). --Politizer (talk) 14:49, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of S.H.E awards tables

[edit]

I have fixed the tables and transcluding table for you. Forgive any presumptions, but I guessed you may not have worked with tables alot before. The tables weren't fully broken, they were still easily comprehensible but they used incorrect rowspan= and rowbreaks |- which caused it to render unnaturally and have thicker lines, double lines (or other faults depending on your browser) between the rows. It is easier to spot in the wiki markup code and if you are going to be making more similar lists I suggest you try and see what was wrong in the diffs - Example 1Example 2, or just ask and i'll try and explain it better or help with any problems. Selina, Hebe, Ella surnames

[edit]

Hey, it's been a while. I'd like to bring into review and/or discussion the current use of Selina, Hebe, and Ella's surnames. I noticed someone renamed Hebe's article from Hebe Tian to Hebe Tien. When I saw this, it occurred to me that none of the three girls officially use their surnames. Would it therefore be appropriate that we either (a) not use their surnames in their article titles, or (b) use their Wade-Giles romanization surname rather than Pinyin because it was pretty much stuck there by the fans (Selina Ren would become Selina Jen)? The only concern I have is I don't know what's the trend in the media, whether to use the surnames or not. Anyways, just a thought. Arsonal (talk) 07:45, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus change on ROC/TW

[edit]

I wanted to let you know that apparently there has been a change in the Wikipedia consensus on the use of "Republic of China (Taiwan)". If you recall (or not) from our discussion 2 years ago, the combination use can be applied for "origin". I'm not sure when it happened, but "origin" is now over on the "Taiwan" column, where "birthplace" was and is. There's also someone on the WPCLE talk page asking us to look at locale conventions again. Arsonal (talk) 23:02, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The consensus for most articles has been to use "Taiwan" in non-political contexts and "Republic of China" in political contexts. So Ma is the "President of the Republic of China" rather than the "President of Taiwan" as he is usually referred to. At the same time, a singer like Jay Chou is from "Taiwan" not from the "Republic of China". I changed or reverted a decent number of articles for this reason, not realizing that a separate discussion had occurred that was specific to entertainment. Now that you have pointed out the convention at Wikipedia:WikiProject Chinese-language entertainment/Naming Conventions I will avoid making this change to entertainment related articles.
I did find it disconcerting to read the explanation that the convention should abide be decisions made at WP:CHINA. The Chinese language is not used only in China. And the difficult political situation between Taiwan and China makes WP:CHINA a potentially biased source for decisions about how to refer to Taiwan. Readin (talk) 23:23, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it's not quite true to say I want to revisit the convention question. While I don't entirely agree with your convention, it's a reasonable convention and it's close enough to NPOV that I don't think it's worth re-opening the can of worms. My recent posts are more geared toward making sure that any future changes to the convention are not driven solely by Wikipedia:WikiProject China, whose editors will tend to have a Chinese nationalist POV and may ignore or not consider the POV that Taiwan is not part of China. Speedy deletion nomination of Z-Chen

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Z-Chen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Reviewer granted

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:38, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of List of awards received by Ho Yeow Sun

[edit]

The article List of awards received by Ho Yeow Sun has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

complete lack of notability.

We don't have articles listing awards for far more prominent artists.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

A tag has been placed on Kelly Chen discography requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Speedy deletion nomination of Leon Lai discography

[edit]

Hello Pandacomics,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Leon Lai discography for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

The file File:Thelittlefairyost.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in The Little Fairy#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE and MOS:TVPRODUCTION.
