1988 Campeonato Argentino de Rugby

Hi, I got your message. Before renaming it, I think someone with knowledge about this should take a look at the title. The Spanish Wikipedia refers to it as "Campeonato Argentino de Rugby", while the English Wikipedia refers to it as "Campeonato Argentino de Mayores" or simply "Campeonato Argentino". You should always leave a notice at the talk page of the article that you have edited the article. I think you will find which notice template to leave at the project page. You could otherwise check out the talk page of Agneta Sjödin, there you find the notice. Perhaps you could place it on all the articles you have edited within the project of editors that you are in so far. Use of brackets etc

Hope you are getting on well with your rewrite of "Works of Henri Chapu".

As you are being so helpful I need your assistance on a small problem.

@Weglinde: Hi. My apologies for not getting to this sooner. Okay, here are my thoughts, and I'd be more than happy to take a pass at it if you'd like. First, someone else made an edit on the Chapu page, removing the "Brief Biography" title, and simply making that the lead paragraph to the entire article, and I like it a lot. I think your brief bio on this page needs to be trimmed significantly, and like Chapu only deal with items regarding the actual works. You then compound that by breaking up the list and inserting 3 more prose biographical sections. I think the entire prose of this article needs to be along the lines of the length of the Chapu article, and the interrupting prose sections need to be completely deleted. Second, the descriptions under some of the pics in the table are way too long, making the table itself look unwieldy. Most of the info can go in the notes section, and you need to be wary of duplicating too much info. We already know that the work was done in 1823, and in Brussels. I edited the first one to show what I mean. Third, and this is just a style thing... notice I centered the caption under the photo, on pages I'm working I'm attempting to do that, imho it makes the photo's inclusion look more professional. Fourth, and finally, many of the notes need to be edited and trimmed. Again, be careful of duplicating information. For example, on the item, "Interior decoration in the Royal Palace of Brussels", look at the title, place, photo caption, date and notes. The title and place are almost identical, the caption then includes the name again, the date column includes the information you already provided in the Key box above, and then you say in the note box that it was created and designed by Rude (which is what the list is all about). @Weglinde:Of course continue with them. Don't let one other person's opinion come between what you like to do. Just try to keep an open mind when other people edit them. Remember, brief information is what is required in Wikipedia articles. And lists, are the briefest. Keep the bio information short, keep all details about the artists' subjects out of the notes, and cut down on redundant information. that's what I do when I edit the lists. Here's the guidelines I use: First, since the table tells you where the piece is located and when it was done, neither of those pieces of information should be in the notes. Also, the entire article is about an artist, so again, that information in the notes is redundant. Second, get rid of any descriptions under the pictures, that belongs in the notes. Third, other than saying pertinent info about an artist's subject (e.g. he was his father-in-law), leave out biographical info on the subjects. Instead, have their name be a pagelink to their page in Wikipedia. (If the person using the list is interested, they can click on the name to find out the info). The one time you should include subject bio info, is when they do not have their own wiki page. But then, no more than one or two sentences. Four, the introduction bio should be no longer than the one we just did for Rude. Take out all non-art information, and only include any information which deals with the different time periods you put in the "key". Remember the lead section of ANY article is supposed to be a brief synopsis of the article which follows. Fifth, remember, I'm not an expert. I'm just trying to help, and I can be wrong. For example, someone else edited the article and put the pic to the right, and that's where it belongs. Sixth, don't be shy asking for help. Anyway, hope this helps. Houston

Thanks for the note. No worries, my edits were minor, and they are mostly preserved. Overall, the Houston article is in very nice shape. It could probably do with fewer photos — especially the three panoramas in a row of the Houston skyline, and the two consecutive oversized photos of the rodeo and convention center. Phoenix 2

Well, our debate is rendered moot by Rjensen gutting the section. I don't entirely disagree with his/her edits and will offer my own thoughts if you want to bring it up on talk.

That said, I would defend each of the minor edits I made that you reverted:

• Defining Luke Field, etc. as Air Force bases for the unfamiliar reader (like myself).
• Removing scare quotes around words that did not need them (admittedly not a vital change).
• Providing proper tense to the phrase "...simply walking away..."
• Removing a reference to "here" that didn't make contextual sense.
• Changing the sudden shift to present tense when discussing Motorola to past.

In sum, it was a fine edit and I don't see why it needed to be reverted wholesale. Anyway, perhaps we should discuss the coverage more generally in this section as it seems to be under debate. Dontreadalone (talk) 05:15, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

You're not wrong that if erroneous stories are frequent that it might be mentioned. It just seemed odd to specifically refer to the Huffington Post only for the purpose of calling it wrong. Perhaps we can say "Although a Chicago area store from 1955 is often incorrectly identified as the first franchise, the McDonald brothers actually sold their first franchise..."

@Dontreadalone: I like your wording, I was tyring to be more specific, but I'll add your verbiage, gets the point across better, although I'll use the Des Plaines which is usually referred to.

The Des Plaines location is the first McDonald's franchise opened AFTER Kroc purchased it, but several others had been opened in CA, in addition to the first one in Phoenix. Hello.I have a question: Are you familiar with the history of this group ? I have known about them and have been a fan of them all of my life. I have done exhaustive research on them for years...and have extensively interviewed Famous Flame Bobby Bennett and his widow, Sandi. I started the very first Facebook page on the Famous Flames and and my interview with the late Mr. Bennett was published by Goldmine Magazine ( http://www.goldminemag.com/blogs/bobby-bennett-the-last-of-the-famous-flames-speaks-of-james-brown-more ) . I also have extensively read and researched numerous biographical information onJames Brown and The Famous Flames ....and I just have to ask: Why do you continue to remove my edits ? The first dealt with naming ALL of the group when it disbanded, which was covered earlier in the article, and therefore redundant. Then, you added "forgotten by the music industry , Dee-Jays,and the general public, while James Brown changed his style from R&B to Funk,and went on to become a solo superstar", which is a combination of peacock language Wikipedia:PEACOCK#Puffery (e.g. "forgotten by the music industry), and redundant material (regarding Brown going on in a solo career). The second reverting I did was your inclusion of the term "several pioneering groups", without citing a reference. The last reverting I did was when you added the term, "as a group again" which is unnecessary.

I'm also reverting your last edit, which places the term "Famous Flame" before Bobby Bennett's name. Which is absolutely redundant, since the entire article is about the Famous Flames, as well as mentioning Bennett as a Flame earlier in the article. I hope this makes it clear. I love early rock and roll, and I think this is an important article, and want it to be as close to encyclopedic quality as possible. If you have citations, lay them on me.
