New article cleanup
Hallo, thanks for keeping an eye on my new pages and fixing my over-capitalising and hyphens-for-dashes. (Is there a short way to create a dash, as it's not on my keyboard and {{ndash}} or " – " (Why won't that "nowiki" tagging work?) is such a lot of typing for a simple date or page range?)
You might be interested to know that you missed a little bit of cleanup in Leeds Mechanics' Institute. I noticed a strange grey bar below the references in the version you'd edited. I traced it to a rogue space in front of the coords, which I'd copied and pasted from Leeds City Museum without noticing I was adding the space. It was obviously a pale grey box which expected to find some unformatted text to display, and found nothing as the coords were "display=title", so left the ghost box. I just thought I'd mention it as something which your eagle eye didn't spot this time - I don't know how common it is. I suppose usually an accidental leading space will create a chunk of mis-formatted text: this one was a bit subtle!
Thanks for all your work on NPP! PamD 10:36, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hi... no long no *speak*... yeah, I'm sure I miss a lot of corrections, AWB is limited. Regarding fixing dashes, there are a couple of tools that you can add to your drop down "more" link at the top of that page. I think importScript('User:Ohconfucius/script/formatgeneral.js'); // [[User:Ohconfucius/script/formatgeneral.js]], but if not that, User talk:Ohconfucius/dashes.js is another one. One of the tools I downloaded does this when I create an article, I go back and use it to fix the dashes. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 17:28, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

The article Harmonyville, Pennsylvania has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Does not meet the WP:GEOLAND.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Let'srun (talk) 03:43, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

You wrote or contributed to articles related to New York Supreme Court Judge Celora and his grandson or nephew who was an Arizona Supreme Court Judge, also named Celora. UREI and Universal Audio (company)
I noticed you've been fixing links to Universal Audio. Several of the links that you updated to UREI should have been updated to Universal Audio (company). The former is defunct (although parts of the brand may continue). The latter is a current company and I think contemporary artists are more likely using the current lines of equipment (as well as participating in endorsements and other promotional arrangements). older ≠ wiser 12:51, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, I can understand your point. UREI was where they pointed to prior to the redirect being changed into a dab, so I pointed them there. Feel free to change them. There were quite a few which actually went to 2 associated pages which are not even on the current dab (the recording studio in Chicago was one). Onel5969 TT me 22:58, 20 December 2023 (UTC)

Please be careful when disambiguating
Hi One: In the future, it might be better just to tag something as a disambiguation than to try to fix it when you're not sure of the correct choice. This edit for example is totally incorrect, which a quick glance at the linked article would have showed you; the species you chose is not found anywhere near Costa Rica! Now somebody has to go through all of your edits to check every one, which strikes me as being a lot of redundant work! MeegsC (talk) 12:01, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
- Not sure what you're looking at, the link needs to go to T. rufus, which is where I targeted it. The distribution described in the target may not be correct/complete. Onel5969 TT me 12:03, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
- This demonstrates that you don't understand species taxonomy, which you'd probably need to correctly redirect these. The former species (black-throated trogon), which had numerous subspecies, was split into four species (Atlantic, Amazonian, chaco and northern). Various subspecies were moved to those "new" species. Each of those subspecies had a scientific name. For example, the one in Costa Rica was T. r. tenellus. It is now the northern black-throated trogon, with the scientific name Trogon tenellus. The Amazonian black-throated trogon, which was the first black-throated trogon to be described, keeps the original scientific name of Trogon rufus. This does not mean that every place where the bird is referred to as T. rufus should be redirected to Amazonian black-throated trogon. It means that the former name of the former species needs to be replaced with the appropriate new species, based on the former subspecies that was found in that area. Many of the ones you've redirected to Amazonian are incorrect. MeegsC (talk) 13:12, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
- This demonstrates that you do not understand civility. The article clearly stated that it was a redirect to T. rufus. The fact that the target article was incorrect does not make the dab correction incorrect. Folks like you, who have a greater interest in taxonomy can make the corrections of those articles, which I see you have done. The person who split the articles, and renamed the original species should have made any necessary corrections, which they failed to do. Nice job. Onel5969 TT me 14:38, 24 December 2023 (UTC)

- Thanks for pointing that out. I missed the cut and paste aspect of the edit, although I think it is most likely a valid dab. While those outside the US might not look for association football at universities outside the US by calling it soccer, many in the US might make that mistake. Should a dummy edit be made at the US page to show that a large portion of the article had been cut and paste there? Onel5969 TT me 16:57, 27 December 2023 (UTC)

Question - AWB tagger, Orphan articles
Greetings, Today at Category:Orphaned articles from December 2023 I de-orphaned (un-tagged) 40 articles (from a Query list I ran). Of those 40 tagged as Orphan, seventeen were from the AWB that you are using. Before writing to you, I re-read the AWB docs here as I no longer use that tool. Please check if your AWB tag setting is at zero or 1, and not set at 3. Thanks, JoeNMLC (talk) 20:44, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks for the heads up. My version of AWB does not allow me to set the number of links, but does allow me to choose "Restrict orphan tag addition to linkless pages". Which is what mine is set to. Could you provide a link to one of the pages which showed up in your query that I tagged as an example? Onel5969 TT me 20:53, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
