Creating articles for elementary schools
[edit]Hi there! Thank you for your hard work on the Carolyn and Vernon Madden Elementary and Macario Garcia Middle School articles. I can tell you spent a lot of time on it, so I'm really sorry to have to leave you this note. I want to direct you to a couple of guidelines for school articles on Wikipedia: WP: NSCHOOL and WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES. The sources you cited are what is typically considered routine coverage or published by the school or district itself. It doesn't really add to a claim to notability. The bar for elementary schools is really high--even Sandy Hook Elementary School redirects to the school district (with a separate page for the shooting).
Please don't be discouraged though! Writing an article is the hardest thing you can do on Wikipedia. I'm going to redirect both articles to the school districts for now, but I really recommend expanding other articles about education in Texas that already exist. You'll be able to find articles that need improvement at Wikiproject: Texas. Please let me know if you have any questions! Mcampany (talk) 01:18, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hey! Thank you so much for being so nice about this. I will check out the wikiproject. Thanks for the advice! OfTheUsername (talk) 02:54, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for June 1
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Auntie Diaries, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Aftermath. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of Worldle (not Wordle)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Worldle (not Wordle), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Owlf 📪 15:09, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- I'm sorry I saw an article request for Worldle and I tried making it I'm sorry. OfTheUsername (talk) 15:13, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- I've deleted it as a user request, since you removed the rest of the content, but I do not consider it to be spam in the slightest (FYI Owlf). If you want the content back, OfTheUsername, you can either let me know or ask at WP:REFUND. Sdrqaz (talk) 15:31, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- @OfTheUsername I saw this shortly before it was deleted. Please don't get discouraged. Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's general notability guidelines. I know there has been some news coverage of Worldle (I've been playing it daily and that's how I found it), but I'm not sure there's enough to meet GNG. However, if you think there is enough I'd advise you to gather as many sources as you can and try again in draft space, which will give you 6 months to develop the article before it gets deleted. If you need help with citing sources or knowing what is and isn't a reliable source, feel free to ask me, or Sdrqaz, or at the help desk. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 15:34, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- Before tagging CSD i checked for the reliable sources and didn't found any and the article wasn't just spam but i feel like an advertisement cause the user had mentioned twitter link in article and was written like an advertisement. But sometimes mistake happens we all are human and we do mistakes and @OfTheUsername: don't be discouraged as ONUnicorn mentioned you can freshly start it from Draft that'll be much better. Tweets used as references
[edit]Hey, OfTheUsername. I came across the article on Auntie Diaries, which you recently created/expanded/whatever, and wanted to remind you that self-published sources (in this case Tweets) are usually not reliable, and so shouldn't be used as references on Wikipedia. That isn't to say they can't be used ever, but they are usually reserved for A. subject-matter experts, or B. people talking about themselves, an organisation/group they are an important member of, or something they made. If the people you cited had had verified expertise in music criticism or queer studies, then you could potentially make an argument for including them, but for the folks you linked, this doesn't seem to be case. Also, links to other websites are usually not included in the text of the article itself.
Anyway, before I go, I wanted to say thanks for your work, and good luck with your future editing. ArcticSeeress (talk) 21:07, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- Okay! Thanks, sorry, it's one of my first articles so I'm not really good at this stuff. Thanks! OfTheUsername (talk) 02:39, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
- No worries, we all start somewhere. It may be helpful to look at other articles with a similar subject to the ones you want to create or edit for inspiration (in this case articles on songs), particularly if they are listed as a good or featured article. ArcticSeeress (talk) 18:12, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
Cyanide (Daniel Caeser song) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Cyanide (Daniel Caeser song), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Welcome!
[edit]Hello, OfTheUsername, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Cyanide (Daniel Caeser song), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.
Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. Your GA nomination of Lil Uzi Vert
[edit]The article Lil Uzi Vert you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Lil Uzi Vert for comments about the article, and Talk:Lil Uzi Vert/GA2 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. DYK for Lil Uzi Vert
[edit]On 16 July 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Lil Uzi Vert, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Lil Uzi Vert (pictured) told the crowd at one of their concerts that they were all "going to hell"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Lil Uzi Vert. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Lil Uzi Vert), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Potential copyvio
[edit]Hi. I've been transferring photos of the Eras Tour from Flickr to Wikimedia Commons. And that's when I came across one upload by you, which could potentially carry a copyright violation. Any screen visual/graphic is copyrighted in the United States and is not free for use on Wikipedia. The image you transferred from Flickr shows the main stage screen. I've been careful about transferring only the images that do not have any copyvio. I have transferred half of the works uploaded by Michael Hicks to Flickr, and intend to transfer the other half soon. I suggest you wait until I finish transferring all of Hicks' works, so that we do not double-upload any images. Thanks. ℛonherry☘ 18:34, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Ronherry: Oops. Sorry about that. I won't upload any images from that account. Thank you for pointing that out! OfTheUsername (talk) 18:46, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
