DYK issue
An issue has been raised at Template:Did you know nominations/Uthayan. SL93 (talk) 17:57, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
President Rajapakse Lawyer
my addition was that President Rajapakse was an alumni of the University of Ceylon. if you read through this page http://www.president.gov.lk/mahinda_rajapaksa.php you will ffind out that he studied law at the Law college in Colombo with is under the university of Ceylon. furthermore i draw your attention the wikipedia page titled Mahinda Rajapakse, it is also mentioned there.
- There is nothing on Sri Lanka Law College or its website to say it was connected to the University of Ceylon. And even if it was, saying Rajapaksa was an alumni of University of Ceylon suggests he attended the university, not the law college.--obi2canibetalk contr 17:59, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
- "The course of study for law students at Sri Lanka Law College does not grant any degree or certification but at completion of studies, examination and a period of apprenticeship qualify for admission to the profession. Graduates holding LLB degrees from University of Colombo, the Open University of Sri Lanka or any other university will be required to complete several examinations and the period of apprenticeship to become an Attorney-at-Law by receiving Admission to the bar."
- this is from the wikipedia page.......... so degree for President Rajapakse was issued by the University of Colombo which was previously known as the University of Ceylon.
- WTF? It does not mean that MR was issued with a degree by the University of Colombo!--obi2canibetalk contr 14:06, 8 September 2012 (UTC)
DYK for Uthayan
On 26 May 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Uthayan, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Uthayan is the only newspaper in Jaffna which did not cease publication during the Sri Lankan Civil War, amid numerous attacks and threats? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Uthayan.You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Since you are so gung ho to depict "historical" claims
Show me one historical map that has Puttalam as tamil country.
This one certainly doesn't: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:MapofEelamTamilcountryengraving1692.jpg
I am having trouble finding any map that isn't from the 2000s with Puttalam included as "tamil eelam". Please help me. BlueLotusLK (talk)
Moron
You are not entitled neither qualified to change anything that relates to Kurds. So do not waste your time.
Definition of "Get a life": This is an originally American idiom and catch phrase usually intended as a taunt, to indicate that the person being so addressed is devoting an inordinate amount of time to trivial or hopeless matters. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kurd-realmadrid (talk • contribs) 13:02, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
- I'm afraid you are the moron, not me. I support keeping the title Iraqi Kurdistan national football team! Isn't that what you want?--obi2canibetalk contr 13:25, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes
But you have changed the beginning paragraph from "Kurdistan national football team" to "Kurdistan football team". Why would you change it for? Do you get paid for it? Leave the Kurds alone! There are billions of pages on WIKI PEDIA that you can edit, was this page the only page that came to your mind? Who ordered you to do so? Stop discriminating against Kurds!
Undo the changes and educate your self! Kurdistan will be a country soon?
Shouldn't those pages be changed too?

Articles
Hello! Fantastic work on wiki! I would greatly appreciate if you could take a look again and maybe expand on articles such as Kudiramalai, Korran, Fort Fredrick and Annius Plocamus if you have time! Regards :) Lifebonzza (talk) 10:23, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

afC and article
You seem to have tagged Trinity-Antonian Cricket Encounter as a duplicate of its Articles for Creation page. I removed the speedy tag: the AfC pages are drafts for articles, and one would expect them to duplicate--normally we deal with it by moving the AfC page to the article or deleting the AfC page. This particular case is a little complicated because the AfC was declined., and the article has some problems. Nobody has to follow the accept or decline advice there--any registered user can always create an article and let it take its chances. This one has remaining problems, and I'm notifying the ed. who disapproved it, and it will be up to her to deal with this further. DGG ( talk ) 21:13, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 3
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of the oldest schools in Sri Lanka, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Matara (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Rajapaksa family has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Wikipedia is not a site for complete genealogical histories. Removal of the genealogy from this page leaves only the unreferenced and highly non-neutral lead, which would require a fundamental rewrite to become encyclopedic.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:29, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
Nomination of Rajapaksa family for deletion
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Rajapaksa family is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:51, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
Trinity-Antonian Cricket Encounter page
Thanks for your voice regarding the dispute in Trinity-Antonian Cricket Encounter page. How the deletion of the page works? I talked to the person who rejected my article but no response yet. Im pretty new to wikipedia. Appreciate your help. --Sajeewashaluka (talk) 14:12, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Sri Lanka secondary schools
What you are doing in adding this basic information is good and appropriate. Please do not be dismayed by the listing of some of them for deletion/ As reviewing administrator, I can tell you that they should not be deleted (If any should be by some chance, please ask me on my talk page to restore them.) I and another reliable admin have advised the editor who has been marking them for deletion that what they are doing is not appropriate. Obviously it will be good to eventually have more information and fuller references, but what yo uare accomplishing is a useful start--the articles will grow. Please continue the good work. DGG ( talk ) 07:10, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your support. One of my aims in creating stubs like these schools was to encourage readers living in Sri Lanka to contribute to Wikipedia. They are more likely to contribute if the article has already been started.--obi2canibetalk contr 14:31, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

Hello, from a DR/N volunteer
Thank you for seeking assistance with the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard. Unfortunately, the case filed had to be closed as not meeting a minimum DR/N criteria. There was not an extensive enough talkpage discussion. Please use a talkpage to discuss ways to improve the article. If, after a good collaborative effort is made a dispute still exists, you should feel welcome to re-file! Amadscientist (talk) 03:41, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
