Protected page creation request
Could you create user talk as a redirect to Help:Using talk pages, as this is where WP:User talk redirects to? Thanks, Rubbish computer 23:05, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Rubbish computer: I'm not sure if this is actually necessary, as this may not be a common search term. Also, something I've noticed is that policy pages, etc. generally are not linked in main namespace using Wikipedia's search function (e.g try searching for general nobility guideline), which has no results. North America1000 01:45, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
@NorthAmerica1000: Fair enough. Rubbish computer 02:00, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
B-class
Hi, Northamerica1000! I see you upgraded Cincinnati chili to B-class! :) I was wondering if you had any advice on how I might continue to work on bringing it up to where it could pass a GA review? Thanks for any advice! valereee (talk) 15:21, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Valereee: For an overview of GA criteria, check out WP:GACR. The article is in quite decent shape, and could possibly qualify for GA in its present form. North America1000 04:44, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
Merge discussions to Chili Dog
Hi, Northamerica1000! I just closed the merger discussion on the Chili dog page, but when I went to post the prescribed template at WP:MERGE on the Coney Island hot dog talk page, I found an earlier close by you. The proposed merger tag on the article page is still there, though, so I'm unsure what I'm supposed to do -- should I remove that tag on this article? And thanks for the pointer to the GA article advice! valereee (talk) 16:25, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Valereee: It's fine that you removed the merge template from Coney Island hot dog after closing the newer merge discussion. North America1000 02:55, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
List of regional dishes of the United States
As you are a big food list fan, I thought you might like to know about a new effort to create List of regional dishes of the United States. Ibadibam (talk) 23:44, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Ibadibam: Thanks for creating the new article and for the notice about it. I'll likely chip in to expand it. North America1000 02:58, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
Just a small thing
Hey, just a casual observer but i noticed you declined the PROD on the Tommy Sotomayor (radio host) article. I was just wondering if you think it would be a good idea to unsalt and move it into Tommy Sotomayor? Thanks for your time, cheers. GuzzyG (talk) 08:22, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
- @GuzzyG: I support this page move. To avoid any potential for wheel warring, I have queried the admin (on their talk page) who fully protected the latter page back in 11 July 2014, to receive their input regarding this matter. North America1000 08:36, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
- @GuzzyG: Done. User:RHaworth performed the page move (diff). The article is now located at Tommy Sotomayor. North America1000 20:29, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you and RHaworth for the prompt action, one less unnecessary disambig, haha, cheers. GuzzyG (talk) 01:36, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- @GuzzyG: Done. User:RHaworth performed the page move (diff). The article is now located at Tommy Sotomayor. North America1000 20:29, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for pointing me toward the correct templates. I've tackled one article and will attend to the others later. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:27, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: Sure thing. From my experience, a lot of users aren't aware of the various attribution templates for talk pages (e.g. Category:Wikipedia copy templates, Category:Merge templates, Category:Split maintenance templates). North America1000 16:31, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

DYK for Jellyfish as food
On 18 July 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Jellyfish as food, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that jellyfish ice cream is "slightly chewy" because it is made from real jellyfish? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jellyfish as food. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

- Yummy jellyfish ice cream. Another lovely entry for Did You Know. — Mudwater (Talk) 11:48, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

Miss Heritage International
Hello my friend! Long time since I've been at this talk page.
Did you know about Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Miss Heritage International? I figure you do since you watch my talk. To refresh your memory, I moved it to draft space per this and then you mainspaced it. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:28, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

@Hafspajen: "Select" means the same thing as click. Click on the image for the article... North America1000 16:36, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
- How did you do THAT? Hafspajen (talk) 16:37, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
@Hafspajen: See "link=Mound of Butter (Vollon)" in the Wiki markup below. North America1000 16:44, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
HM, very technical, never met this trick. Smart.--Hafspajen (talk) 17:07, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Hafspajen: I made it up myself (Just joking)! Just something I saw a while back. It works! North America1000 17:17, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah, very useful!! Good idea, good trick. I might use it, too. Like at Signpost, Xanthomelanoussprog what do you say? Hafspajen (talk) 17:28, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
- This used to be done with Template:Click before the link= syntax was added to Mediawiki, and some of the issues with it still aren't documented anywhere but that template's talk page and deletion discussions. In particular, it shouldn't ever be used except with public domain images, since the attribution on the file description page becomes inaccessible. —Cryptic 17:37, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Hafspajen: @Cryptic: So there you have it, and that's the way it is. North America1000 18:23, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Programs in the United States
The article Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Programs in the United States has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- non-notable promotional list that links to general articles
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. torri2(talk/contribs) 20:11, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
