Hi
[edit]I wish to tell you Orlando have not clinched. New Jersey can still beat them with a 47-35. Orlando can still finished 9th if they finish 46-36 and CLE, BOS, ORL, ATL, MIA, DET, PHI, CHI, NJN can finish at least 47-35. Syjytg (talk) 16:18, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't see New Jersey has more games remaining... Millwaukee has the same GB behind record and can only get to 45 wins, so I thought New Jersey also can't... and also Charlotte can get a tie with Orlando on 46 wins, so they should be taken in consideration as well... --Nitsansh (talk) 16:30, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
DG
[edit]DG means "decision game". Its service is to inform the reader that Anderlecht is not first and Standard not second, but that they are both first. Without DG most people would think that Anderlecht is first due to better goal difference. With DG people know there are more matches to be played to determine the champions. That is also why I didn't want to put any number for Anderlecht and Standard in last column of Round by round positions table. Anyway, the problem is that we cannot put both teams in the same row in league table and that's why the decision game needs to be denoted somehow. Bye! SonjiCeli (talk) 10:16, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- I found nowhere in the article what's the meaning of DG. I meant that it should be explained.--Nitsansh (talk) 14:04, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Portal: Current events/Sports II
[edit]Do you have a fix suggestion for why the Current Events Box doesn't work? CLick on a day and it does not shortcut you to the day of the month. --Falcadore (talk) 23:25, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Just curious, was this a revert of my previous edit, or did you not notice it? In case it was the former, I'd ask you to read the guidelines of the template to be found at Template:Current sports. I don't think the article 2009 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship requires a current event template currently. --Conti|✉ 15:20, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
Hello Nitsansh, I am going to be asking a couple of users to help on this in order to get this done because it is a big task that I can't get it done all on my own quickly! Just make sure to alert people before you start on a section by putting your signnature next to section number! Thanks!TW-RF (talk) 19:41, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
World Cup qualification, UEFA Group 2
[edit]The loser of the Greece-Latvia match (if it's not a draw) cannot win the group if Israel win their next match. Israel will be at 15 and Switzerland at 17 and those two teams play in the final match, so one of them has to get to 18. PiGuy314 (talk) 01:39, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

2009 Super League season results
[edit]Hi again. I'm sure that your intentions were good, but Wikipedia isn't authorised to publish upcoming fixtures, only results. Therefore the entries that you've added have been hidden using HTML comments until the matches have been played. Julianhall (talk) 21:04, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
Dont you understand? We have a layout, please do not fix anything, all the previous championships have the same one. All NORCECA tournaments have the same, why dont you understand do not more changes. Period. Oscar987 21:09, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
Tie-break rules in basketball
[edit]Can you give me the exact rules of this situation because I found this:
1) If 2 teams have the same record, the team that won the head to head game wins
the tie breaker.
2) If there are more than 2 teams with the same record, then the tie breaker will be
decided by the point difference in all games played. Please look at the chart below
for an example. All 3 teams ended with 2 wins and 2 loses.
# | Team A | Team B | Team C |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Win + 2 | Lose 15 | Win +25 |
2 | Lose –10 | Lose –9 | Lose –3 |
3 | Win +5 | Win +7 | Lose –2 |
4 | Lose –2 | Win +10 | Win + 11 |
Diff. | –5 | –9 | +31 |
So in this example, Team C would win the tie breaker with +31, Team A will be second
with -5, and Team B will be last with -9.
So, if this right , the standing in Euroleague 2009–10 is also correct.--KSAconnect 12:27, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
- Where did you find rule #2? It's very different from the tie break rules I know...--Nitsansh (talk) 17:52, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
2010 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
[edit]I have been doing the IIHF U20 wiki since 2006, we have never opted to go for the three coloured approach. Over-complication. Slaja (talk) 18:47, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
- It's been done in many articles on sports competition. If teams move on to different phases, that should be indicated somehow. I don't think three colours are too complicated, but If you don't like this idea, then another method should be done.--Nitsansh (talk) 19:33, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer granted
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Dabomb87 (talk) 22:28, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Re: EuroBasket 2009 qualification
[edit]Hi, I've done most of the article, but I didn't do the calculations for the second placed teams. All I know is that the matches against the last placed team in the group A weren't counted, that's why I've reverted it... I am not sure where we can find the final table, but Bulgaria was obviously in front of France, I agree with that...--Vitriden (talk) 12:52, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

References for September 2010 in sports
[edit]We seem to be at cross purposes here. My starting point is when an article contains statements about hundreds of living people, it is going to need an awful lot of references. Yours seems to be that references can be found in other (detailed) articles linked to from this article. I appreciate that this is a general point rather than one specifically to do with this month's article, but if so, why not list just the events without the results? The current listing is open to the sort of subtle vandalism we've seen so often in data-centric summaries like climate tables, award winners and the like. - Pointillist (talk) 00:26, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- The article in question is an archive page of Portal: Current events/Sports which is updated on a daily basis by (mainly) several dedicated editors. It would be difficult to insert mistaken results without anyone's notice... I for one check the new editions at least once a day and take special note at edits by unfamiliar editors...
- I admit that I rarely check archived articles for errors, but I don't think the lack of references is the problem here...--Nitsansh (talk) 00:47, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- I've taken a look at the histories of the September 2005-2010 in sports articles, and it seems vandalism is rare and detected quickly. The pages are pretty hefty even without references anyway, so if it ain't broke I'll stop trying to fix it. Thanks for the prompt reply, btw. - Pointillist (talk) 08:23, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
Izhak Mamistvalov
[edit]Hi. Thank you for the information you've added to the article on Izhak Mamistvalov. However, any information on a conviction for homicide added to an article about a living person must be fully and properly sourced. Please see: "Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons". The only thing I've been able to find about the accident is this, and it's incomplete: http://www.israelparalympics.org/en/article.asp?articleid=76 . I must ask you to indicate the sources for your information; otherwise, it will have to be removed, in accordance with Wikipedia's policy on the biographies of living people. Aridd (talk) 06:37, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
- I found no sources in English except that one. There are sources in Hebrew, if that helps.--Nitsansh (talk) 17:13, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
- The sources in Hebrew are fine. Thanks for adding them. Aridd (talk) 22:28, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
Re:Rose Bowl
[edit]Hmm...good question. According to this it'll be Wisconsin via next week's BCS rankings. Tiebreakers can't split them on conference or overall. I'm no expert on college football, so don't quote me on it! :) Cs-wolves(talk) 00:05, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Handball WC 2011
[edit]Just to answer your comment about a three-way-tie Alg, Cro and Serb. In that case, Algeria has lost both direct matches against Cro and Serb and thus will be ranked third of those three, so fourth in the group behind Denmark. Thus Croatia is already qualified. Denmark though could still finish fourth. -Koppapa (talk) 22:03, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Volleyball
[edit]Why isn't volleyball events not notability enough to be displayed in the Curren events Portal:Current events/Sports/Sidebar?
Who decide this? Are there statistics? Why is Bobsleigh or Luge notable enough and volleyball is not? Why are you continuesly deleting volleball entries?
I think you are abusing. Osplace 01:29, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
