Graig Weich

You've done a lot of work on Graig Weich - would you like to opine on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Graig Weich? I think the consensus is fairly clear to delete, but if you'd like to explain otherwise, it would be terrific.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 18:15, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

There is a dispute at Talk:Spider-Man and the X-Men over whether a redlink editor's edits violate WikiProject Comics guidelines as fancruft and issue-by-issue synopses. A comparison of two versions is here. I am writing to some longtime Project editors individually, since Portal talk:Comics appears to have very little traffic and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Comics/Notice board has had no postings in years. --Tenebrae (talk) 19:27, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

User:DANE YOUSSEF

Hi. I noted that you blocked this editor for a couple of weeks 3 years ago for adding unsourced material to articles. He does not seem to have stopped doing that, and I've just put a strongly worded warning on his talk page. Would you mind keeping an eye on his edits? I think that CIR may be an issue here. Hello, Nightscream My edit to the Frank Cho article was deleted recently because it did not have adequate citations. The only article I'm aware of that backs my claim--that an early version of the strip "Liberty Meadows" first appeared in his high school paper, The High Point Beacon (High Point High School, Beltsville, MD) in the late 1980s, was published in issue #6 of Hogan's Alley magazine. This citation is mildly problematic for two reasons: It is not archived online (Hogan's Alley is only available in hard copy print) and because I am the author of the article I would be citing.

I admire the degree of academic rigor you put into these articles, but worry that common sense methods to check my claim are being discarded. Frank Cho is pretty easy to contact through his own website, for instance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arqueille (talkcontribs) 08:08, 27 March 2016 (UTC)

Nightscream, I'll see what I can find. I've moved to Korea recently and don't have access to my old magazine collection, but can make some inquiries via e-mail.Arqueille (talk) 12:07, 27 March 2016 (UTC)

Awesome notice

Thank you for placing that awesome notice of site policies at Talk:Stunning and Brave, that is sorely needed for editors to read.

Did you find that somewhere else, or draft it up yourself ?

Cirt (talk) 20:54, 3 April 2016 (UTC)

Thanks again. Your thoughts would be appreciated at that talk page, specifically regarding unsubstantiated claims in the article's intro lede sect. At present, the article fails WP:LEAD, namely material in the lede sect does not then appear later in article body text. — Cirt (talk) 22:03, 3 April 2016 (UTC)

You were involved in one of the prior WP:FAC or WP:PR discussions about Emily Ratajkowski. The current discussion at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Emily Ratajkowski/archive4 needs more discussants. In my prior successful FACs, success has been largely based on guidance at FAC in reshaping the content that I have nominated. I would appreciate discussants interested in giving guidance such guidance.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 03:55, 26 April 2016 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Hc04-leonardi.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Hc04-leonardi.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 11:58, 12 May 2016 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Skeptic-1.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Skeptic-1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Stefan2 (talk) 15:31, 1 June 2016 (UTC)

Can you rewrite the whole article into the biography about the boy who turned into a man? The whole page looks... drifting away from being a biography rather than it is supposed be. --George Ho (talk) 07:16, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

The article has background of Cuban-US relationship. What about Elian's childhood before his arrival to the US? --George Ho (talk) 18:29, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
No, no. Guess I'll be fine with the background. No need to add intricate details about his pre-US childhood... for now. It's that someone suggested that layouts be changed to make the article more of a biography. Or maybe copy editing perhaps? I can't say. Nevertheless, bd2412 said that the lede must be rewritten to introduce the person to the readers, not the event (or the affair/custody battle, whatever it was called). --George Ho (talk) 18:53, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

I added the infobox and slightly rewrote the opening sentence. --George Ho (talk) 17:13, 10 June 2016 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:JuniorSkeptic.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:JuniorSkeptic.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:47, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Spider-Man (Miles Morales) and Rtkat3

Hi Nightscream, have you considered taking your complaints about Rtkat3 to ANI? I've had numerous problems with him over the years and I too have tried to get him to stop adding indiscriminate in-universe cruft to articles, but he seems to have great difficulty wrapping his head around that, apparently believing that ponderous textwalls are the goal. I'm not sure what conversation or experience is going to finally get it across that this is not Wikia. Maybe a topic ban from all entertainment articles? It would seem a shame--he's got 94,000 edits, but what's the alternative? I genuinely believe he doesn't understand what the goal of this encyclopedia is. Anyhow, what I'm saying is that if you did open a case, I'd be willing to contribute my thoughts. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:43, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

In my defense for the "Other media" section of Miles Morales, I thought that the episode would help detail about where he got his Kid Arachnid codename. If that is wrong, I apologize for that. --Rtkat3 (talk) 15:08, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

As you know, Miles Morales has been starring in Spider-Man Vol. 2 at the time when Peter Parker was traveling the world promoting Parker Industries. If you have read the comics about him, I was wondering what you thought of the series so far. --Rtkat3 (talk) 15:08, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Preacher characters, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page One-shot. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Miles Morales in Civil War II

Hi, I was wondering if you would allow any information about Miles Morales' role in Civil War II added to his page if anyone thinks of doing that. The issue in question is "Spider-Man" Vol. 2 #6 which will have him deciding which side to take. --Rtkat3 (talk) 16:01, 21 July 2016 (UTC)

Bolding phrases that are targets of redirects

Yes, you were right – bolding timeless physics in the Julian Barbour article wasn't necessary, but that's only because this is the same as the section heading. Had it been different, it would have been bolded per WP:R#PLA. Thanks. Uanfala (talk) 06:13, 28 July 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Alexis Hernandez

Hello Nightscream,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Alexis Hernandez for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. David.moreno72 06:59, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Amy Reader

Hello Nightscream,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Amy Reader for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Joe Roe (talk) 23:20, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) Joe Roe you missed the fact that Nightscream created Amy Reader (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) as an entirely plausible redirect. Today an IP performed a little nonsense/vandalism editing. The redirect does not need deletion - speedy or otherwise - so I have changed it back. It is always worth taking a thorough look at the edit history in situations like this. I only know this because I made the same kind of mistake years ago. MarnetteD|Talk 01:17, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

Hello Subject: Hoboken Reporter Link: http://hudsonreporter.com/view/full_story/27206445/article-Hudson-Reporter-offices-move-Newspaper-chain-relocates-to-new-building-in-Bayonne- "The Hudson Reporter’s headquarters moved to 1400 Washington St. in Hoboken in 1995 from a smaller office in a basement "across the street."" Here is my question. I have pasted here the line that state that the office was from across the street from 1400 Washington. So why is the info not correct since i link to source file. I know I should paraphrase however I am past here to show that in fact that the written information can be cited. Also 1400 number can only mean that its on a north west corner. I want to thank you for your contributions to Spider-Man (Miles Morales). You made the article look really presentable for Wikipedia's standard for a good article. I was hoping you can help out in doing the same for Spider-Woman (Gwen Stacy). An article that's missing out on a commonly used Powers and abilities section. Also it may need copyediting in Publication history etc. Do you think we can team up to make it in GA standard? Jhenderson 777 18:45, 5 September 2016 (UTC)

I might do it myself. Just not right now. I am just better at outside universe than at in-universe material. I have't read all of Spider-Gwen either. It's an important article to me mostly because I started it. Thanks for your contribution though. Jhenderson 777 23:56, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
