I also posted this note to Draggleduck who has also edited the Barry White discography page.
It would be good if we could list Rhapsody in White in the Barry White discography. I know the album was officially by the Love Unlimited Orchestra but it was of course pure and simply a Barry White album. If it's such a problem maybe you could make a note e.g. with the Love Unlimited Orchestra. This is a glaring omission and sad for anyone unfamiliar with Barry's recordings who would otherwise not learn of this album recorded under the orchestra name but containing absolute classic Barry White songs such as 'Baby Blues', 'I Feel Love Coming On', and 'Dont Take It Away From Me'. Anyway let me know what you think about this. LauraineCrafts (talk) 11:15, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
I wanted to warn you to be careful when marking articles for speedy deletion. You marked I Just Want To Be Your Everything for deletion on the grounds that the creator had blanked the page. This only applies if no other substantial edits had been made, and others had edited the article under its new title. The redirect article which you marked was not created by you, and was not blanked until your edit[1], so the rationale was not valid. Please be careful in the future. Tavares
[edit]Hi, Night Time. Thanks for your edits to Tavares (band), it going great; but I'd suggest you to remember using the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thanks and keep up the good edits :) Cheers, Waldir talk 22:18, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:The best of roberta flack (album cover).jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:The best of roberta flack (album cover).jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 21:14, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Copyright problem: Ohio Players
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Ohio Players, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.weblo.com/music/artist/The_Ohio_Players/15827/, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under allowance license, then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Ohio Players and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted ''under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), versions 1.3 or later and Creative Commons Share Alike (CC-BY-SA), versions 3.0 or later, under CC-BY-SA, versions 3.0 or later, or that the material is released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Ohio Players with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL and CC-BY-SA, and note that you have done so on Talk:Ohio Players. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for instructions.
It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Ohio Players saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Draggleduck (talk) 02:16, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:III SOS Band album.jpeg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:III SOS Band album.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Image uploads
[edit]You aren't required to upload new versions of an image to seperate files if versions of the same image already exist. Also, images for album covers should ideally be no lower than 200 x 200 pixels in resolution (and no higher than about 350 x 350), since this is the resolution at which they will display in the infobox. If you need to upload a new version of an image, you can always overwrite the existing file by clicking "Upload a new version of this file" on the page of the existing file. --FuriousFreddy (talk) 17:23, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Isley brothers Grand slam album.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Isley brothers Grand slam album.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Regarding your recent edits, how can a record reach #210 in the Billboard 200?! It does not make sense, and it is at odds with the reference cited in the article. Be bold by all means, but such an edit needs a source to be both viable and verifiable. Thanks,

Automatically generated by DASHBot
[edit]Hi there. I wonder, why do you add the comment "Automatically generated by DASHBot", when it isn't created automatically by DASHBot, but manually by you? And when I remove the note, you insert it back. This is very unusual. Also, please don't remove a "noprose" tag without handling the issue, the tag is there for a purpose. --Muhandes (talk) 08:49, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

Better source request for File:Masterpiecetheatreenvogue.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Masterpiecetheatreenvogue.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 01:39, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
Track list formatting
[edit]Hi. Thanks for your improvements to Ship Ahoy (album). :) I just wanted to be sure you knew, in case you had not read the edit summary, the reason why the <small> formatting was removed from the tracklist. The manual of style on Wikipedia for album articles is set out at Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums/Article body, specifically Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums/Article body#Track listing. According to guideline, the name of the composer/writer should be the same size as the song title. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:09, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article, specifically Back Stabbers, may fail our non-free image policy. License tagging for File:Iminlovealbum.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Iminlovealbum.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:05, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:The Delfonics Tell Me This Is a Dream album.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Stefan2 (talk) 23:23, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Turn on your radio change album.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Turn on your radio change album.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.
If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.
Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 07:41, 12 March 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Changing reference sources for Australian chart peaks
[edit]Hi, referring to your recent edits to the discography section on the Inner City (band) page, I just wanted to let you know that the top 100 Australian peaks currently listed are not sourced from David Kent's Australian Chart Book, as you've changed the reference source to, removing what were valid sources relating to the peaks listed. I can assume you don't own a copy of this book, as you would know that the peaks were not sourced from there if you did. The peaks in the article differ to what is listed in David Kent's book. You may not be aware, but the Australian singles chart was produced by David Kent from May 1974, and ARIA licensed the top 50 portion of this from July 1983 until 12 June 1988. After that date, ARIA produced the chart themselves, and their chart became the 'official' Australian chart thereafter. From then until January 1998, when David Kent's chart ceased publication, there were two 'rival' charts; but ARIA's was always considered the official one. I mention all of this to you, as taking a quick look at your editing history, you edit a lot of discography articles. Please do not cite peaks from David Kent's chart books after 12 June 1988. I would also recommend that you don't change/add book references where you have not sighted the original source material yourself.Nqr9 (talk) 06:46, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
Your artist discography page edits
[edit]Hi, can you please not remove valid, referenced chart peaks from artist discographies without explanation (in either your edit summary, or on the article talk page), like you have done here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Barry_White_discography&diff=prev&oldid=821809092? Also, you may like to familiarise yourself with this article, which outlines the recommended guidelines for artist discographies on Wikipedia, if you have not already done so. It is recommended that discography tables contain a maximum of 10 chart columns.Nqr9 (talk) 14:12, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
- Night Time, stop messing with Australian sources. @Nqr9: has done extensive research and inquiries to find these peaks. You are coming back on to these discography pages and completely stripping them of the sources Nqr9 has added—after they have asked you to stop and explained to you—and replacing them with David Kent book references and restoring/mixing chart data up. You are also stripping discography sections and pages of valid chart references—you appear to have something against the Austrian, Norwegian, Swedish and Swiss charts in particular. As long as these don't exceed 10 columns and are sourced correctly, they should not be removed. In most cases, you have removed these columns with zero explanation. Why are you not providing reasons? Even if that chart column/country only has one peak in it, it doesn't matter. You should not be removing it, least of all without an explanation. It makes it look like you have no idea what you're doing. Also:
- Do not remove or replace scope="row"s per MOS:ACCESS. Do not restore chart formatting to a previous revision of the page. You will be reverted outright if I see you doing this again. This is standard for wikitable entries now. You have no reason to be removing it.
- Stop re-adding rowspan="1"s, they are redundant—rows automatically have a value of 1. You don't need to specify it.
- Stop adding align="left" before listing certifications—they are bullet points, and this is redundant text. Bullet points don't align anywhere else but the left by default.
- Stop linking certification publishers on every instance. This is WP:REPEATLINKing. Once on the page on the first instance is enough.
- Stop restoring outdated formatting or previous revisions of pages, and stop messing with valid chart information, or an administrator will be informed of your actions. If you revert what I've just fixed or undone of your edits today, you will be warned for edit warring. Enough is enough. Ss112 23:34, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
- In addition to the above: You have made some constructive changes, as on Natalie Cole discography. However, you're mixing good with bad, and when you do things like remove scope="row"s (again, which are needed and should be present where they are not, per MOS:ACCESS), editors are going to see things like this and revert you, which throws out your constructive changes. Some more points:
- US Bubbling Under peaks should be kept as notes per WP:USCHARTS. Do not add 100 onto the Bubbling Under chart position per the linked guideline.
- You don't need to add counts in wikitables like "Second studio album". Users can count if they wish, and it's redundant and unnecessary information.
- By all means, from here on, do continue to update sources and add certifications and cut columns down to 10. Where there's already 10, you don't and probably shouldn't need to change them or remove any more. Definitely do not restore outdated formatting like rowspan="1"s and align="left"s, do not add repeated links, and most important, do not remove plainrowheaders/scope="col"s and scope="row"s where they are present. Please read this and take it into consideration, because it's going to look disruptive on your part if you continue doing these things after having it explained to you. You can be a good contributor without restoring outdated formatting, so please start adapting and listening to other editors. Thank you. Ss112 00:14, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message and taking the suggestions on board. One more thing: There's no benefit to changing — to
—
, and multiplication symbols (×) to the code×
for certifications—in fact, many users change the codes to dashes because of their ease of access at the bottom of the editing window, so there's no need for anyone to resort to using the code for them. Ss112 02:16, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

- Hello again. Please do not come onto my talk page in reply to this message and award me "WikiLove" thanks messages. If you have anything to say, including "thanks, I will take that on board" please respond here, as that is standard when a user leaves you a message and you want to reply. With that said, stop removing sourced chart columns. That is what you did here by removing the Belgian column. You can say you're "adding chart peaks" all you like, but if you're removing data from a page, a negative amount of bytes will be shown next to your edit. So you're not fooling anybody with that edit summary—at most, you altered two chart positions. Also, there is no need to change instances of style="width:35px;" to width="35", so please stop doing this. They mean the same thing. You also should not be combining every Billboard chart reference into one. I don't understand why you're doing this anyway, considering you have at times endeavoured to add specific URLs for certifications, so please treat charts the same. Specific references are very helpful for charts and are often preferred to a generic link to the artist's chart history page on Billboard. So instead of removing individual US chart references, consider just updating the URLs. Thank you. Again, do not post on my talk page in reply to this. Reply here if you have anything to say. [edit]Disambiguation link notification for November 22
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Akiko Fukushima, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ayako Uehara. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
