Wikimedia NYC activities
[edit]Was glad to see you sign up for Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/WCNA. Our next event at Brooklyn Public Library will be Nov 30: Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/November 2022. Also glad to catch up before then, particularly if you've been active with Black Gotham Experience, as it would be great to involve that group more. Pharos (talk) 23:48, 15 November 2022 (UTC)

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}}
on your userpage.
Please remember to:
- Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes
~~~~
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp. - Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
Sincerely, Sm8900 (talk) 17:57, 17 November 2022 (UTC) (Leave me a message)
I haven't been, and I already got your message. Why not some of you go on one of their tours yourself? NerdyThursdays (talk) 13:22, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
Blocked as a sockpuppet
[edit]Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System.
Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
