Dave Fish
You deleted this page while i was working on the beginning of it. Dave was and still is an integral part of keota high school in iowa. He has racked up hundreds of wins as a basketball coach, been the girls softball coach for many years, is the head of the teachers union, and has been a great teacher for 37 years at his high school —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jimmynrh (talk • contribs) 04:49, 31 January 2010 (UTC) well there was a story done about him by a local news station is that an independent reliable source? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jimmynrh (talk • contribs) 05:14, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
So basically i need a biography on the guy in order to write a wikipedia article about him? (Jimmynrh (talk) 05:21, 31 January 2010 (UTC))
We believe that this page is significant, because Dave Fish has recently decided not to retire from our hometown school of Keota, Iowa. He has made a number of contributions to the school that are significant for a number of reasons, 1) he literally started women's athletic programs in the South Iowa Cedar League conference, and has been coaching women's sports in the conference ever since. 2) His recent decision not to retire is very important to two generations of women in our town. 3) With Fish's name recognition and political activism, we feel that he is likely to soon run for legislative office in the state of Iowa, and we believe that having an accurate background of him will help voters make an intelligent and informed decision on his career as a teacher and coach. We dont have many "credible" sources on the man, other than the few small-town newspapers and tv interviews he has had done. This man deserves recognition, and we believed that wikipedia would be the site that would understand that even though we dont have a scholarly, peer-reviewed, annotated, psychoanalytical biography on the man, that we could still put up some modest information based on our experiences with him as a teacher and coach. I'm sorry if i was wrong about wikipedia.Lucas.draisey (talk) 05:40, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
Count (Mikael Eldridge)
You deleted the page Count (Mikael Eldridge while I was in the midst of creating it, before i could add my resources page. Count is a music producer, and if you look at the page you deleted you will see that every single band or remix he has produced (included RADIOHEAD) is extremely famous and they ALL have wiki pages. Why isn't the man who produces their music allowed to have a wiki page if the famous bands he is producing DO have wikipages? Thanks. user:crazywanda —Preceding undated comment added 01:14, 31 January 2010 (UTC).
User:Barkbarkdisco1 : Ok, i will do that, but can i have my wiki code back so i can cite sources other than blogs.
You would need to cite reliable independent sources (not blogs, see WP:V) to show that this band meets the notability standards of WP:MUSIC. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:35, 29 January 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Barkbarkdisco1 (talk • contribs)

Native American Inventors Association
You deleted the page Native American Inventors Association while I was in the process of a discussion with another moderator and editing and adding content to meet guidelines. For my assistance can you advise why this page was any different from thousands of other pages concerning minority interest groups such as the Chinese American Librarians Association or the Polish American Arts Association or the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers or indeed the Native American Journalists Association. I would be interested in your response. As I stated in the articel, this is the first organization of its kinds founded for and by an underserved community. FYI I am neither Native American or a member of the NAIA. The organization came to my attention through an associate.
UKRefugee (talk) 19:39, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
- I deleted three of those and tagged another for proposed deletion. In general, see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. There was nothing in your article to indicate that the subject met the notability standards of WP:ORG. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:45, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply. I appreciate the reference to the WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS argument, and though I can see its relevance do not necessarily concur that this is a blanket sanction for deletion. Since, though the other pages I referenced have also been deleted I appreciate your equanimity. I assume that pages like the North American Scrabble Players Association which was also founded in 2009, will also be under similar scrutiny.

Scotia Soccer Club
You deleted my page; Scotia Soccer Club. I rewrote it would like to re-submit it again as an amature club[1] with full documentation, in better and shorter format. I have it now up on my own user page. I tried to copy it into a new page for Scotia Soccer Club, but it won't let me. What do I do now? How do I get someone to review it on my user page? Thanks.

Sian Scott
Seriously - there was no need to delete it You claim it is not notable, yet you have a picture of a random cat on your page? How notable are you or your cat?
Sian Scott; Why the deletion?
Hi you deleted my article on Sian Scott because you said she was not a notable person but I'll have you know she's one of the UK's most famous athletes, if not THE most famous and she been favoured to win the London Olympics 400m Hurdles (women. If that's not notable then I'd like to see you do better. (that's just a start)
I didn't put much on about her as I was in a hurry but most British people will know her name and the arcticle would have picked up more and slightly better (reliabilty wise) later.
Sufi FIlms
I tried not to believe that wikipedia and it's editors were NOT anti anything Muslim, but now I am not so sure. Seeing that NawlinWiki started a page Megan Mylan (complete content of page below) a much less well known documentary film maker than James McConnell of Sufi Films, responsible for starting the reality TV genre - well it just boggles the mind. Shame on your narrow mind. Really pathetic!
Megan Mylan is an American documentary film director, known for her films Lost Boys of Sudan and the 2008 Academy Award-winning Smile Pinki.
Mylan earned a bachelor's degree from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service[1], and master's degrees in journalism and Latin American studies from the University of California, Berkeley.[2] She worked for Ashoka in Brazil before deciding to pursue documentary filmmaking.[3]
In 2003, Mylan and Jon Shenk directed Lost Boys of Sudan, a full-length documentary about two Dinka boys who fled the Sudanese civil war for the United States.
In 2008, Smile Train executives, who had been impressed with "Lost Boys", asked Mylan to direct a film about their efforts to provide cleft palate surgery in developing countries. Mylan was at first reluctant, thinking "I don't do PSAs", but was eventually persuaded to travel to Varanasi, India to direct Smile Pinki.[4][5] That 39-minute film, about a six-year old Indian girl who receives cleft palate surgery through Smile Train, won the 2008 Academy Award for Best Documentary (Short Subject).
Mylan is currently working on a film on the struggle for racial equality in Brazil.[6] —Preceding unsigned comment added by BrokenEarthNaturals (talk • contribs) 05:12, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Land That I Love Deleted
NawlinWiki,
Another Wikipedia reviewer, WikiDan 61, suggested not five minutes after I hit "save", that the page for my book, "Land That I Love" would be taken down in a week because Wikipedia doesn't list "non-notable" books that haven't been published yet. I understand and appreciate the reasons behind that. And I responded on his talk page to what I considered to be his objection:
"I understand your reluctance to list this work prior to its publication, but it's not like it's still being shopped around. Land That I Love was accepted by a publisher months ago, has been through multiple iterations with a skilled editor, features professionally drawn cover art, and has an announced launch date only two months hence. You can take down this page if you want but, on March 19 when the book is out, it'll be back up. Why make both of us go through the trouble?"
In the time it took me to write that reply, though, you took down the page without warning for entirely different -- and erroneous -- reasons: "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion: ad for selfpublished book". I take exception to that. It's not advertising. The entry was intended in part for promotion, but the same could be said for many if not most Wikipedia entries; I take the key word to be "unambiguous" and it is most definitely ambiguous because the character profiles and plot summary are intended as aids to the enjoyment of the book by people once they have already bought it. Also, it is most assuredly not "selfpublished". Why would I, a New Yorker, set up a dummy corporation in South Africa? I have a stack of rejection notes from a litany of other publishers and a couple years of dust collecting on the manuscript until I hooked up with Joan de la Haye at Rebel. That's because I refused to self-publish. I have not paid a dime for the editing, art or distribution services Rebel provides. They get their cut of the sales and I get mine. No advance, but no subsidy either -- just like any other non-celebrity, first-time, professionally published author.
Fortunately, I cut-and-pasted the content to my book's Facebook fan page before you took it down so abruptly.
What recourse do I have?
Cordially,
William Freedman William Freedman (talk) 21:04, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- You said, "The entry was intended in part for promotion". There's the key - you are promoting your book. That's not what Wikipedia is for. See WP:SPAM and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Furthermore, an unpublished book doesn't meet Wikipedia's notability standards, see WP:N and WP:V. But if you want to pursue this further, go to Wikipedia:Deletion review. Steven C. Luby deleted
I would ask that you reconsider deletion of the article about Steven C. Luby. I am documenting Steve's work as a software and composites engineer who developed a proprietary and unique tool that allows composites materials engineers to go beyond just the CAD system using non-geometric data sources to develop and manufacture accurate composites parts more effectively than via the previously manual aspect of development and manufacturing. His work, begun at MIT led to a commercial venture that is now considered one of the leading companies in the field.
As the creator, Steve's work should be recognized as his products are used in development of aircraft by virtually every major manufacturer and several major automotive companies around the world. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Karyzate (talk • contribs) 19:08, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Theta Healing deleted ?
Hi Nawlin, The Theta healing article does not read like an advert. It is informative and non biast. Please reconsider it.
Theta healing is a spiritual practice developed by Vianna Stibal.
Although Theta waves can be recorded ,using electrodes, there is no scientific evidence for Theta Healing or any mechanism for its manipulation.
It has been described by some participants as a mixture of self help , religion, and Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). Almost all participants say Theta healing has had a positive effect. [1] Some practitioners claim to have cured various diseases. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Polysophia (talk • contribs) 14:38, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Revoking rights from IP
Sorry for posting it over here, but I need you to read it fast. Is there a way to remove the permissions of a specific IP address? If Yes I think you should revoke the 'edit permission' from my IP because it's PUBLIC and people are doing bad things under it. (As you've said here: 189.43.121.173, 20:21, 16 December 2009 (UTC)) I do not ask for a ban, just for something that force users of this IP to login before editting. Thanks in advance.
Deleting my Account
Is there any possible way to delete my wikipedia account? If there is please inform me to do so. If you can delete it directly, just do it without asking for my permission.
- I can and will delete your user and talk pages. There's no such thing as "deleting an account." Generally, see Wikipedia:Right to vanish. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:03, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Jesse Stretch Article Question
I am somewhat new to Wikipedia and left you a comment on the Jesse Stretch page. Please let me know if you are able to access this comment and if it makes sense to you. I will cut and paste it here just in case (see below)-
Besides being an author, Jesse Stretch (and his book) is the catalyst for the founding of a ministry which has made incredible strides in the Virginia prison community. This ministry is called Desperate Highway Ministries and was founded by pastor Wayne Watkins earlier in 2009. I believe I cited the ministry's website in the Jesse Stretch article. The reason for Stretch's inclusion in Wikipedia has more to do with forming a complete picture of a book which has sold thousands of copies and changed the lives of countless prisoners. It is a self-published book, sure, but it's actually very well rated by purchasers and has outsold (and outranked) many major publications (I do have information to substantiate these claims). Someone should probably do an entry on the ministry which sprung up as a result of his book. I do not know if I have sufficient contact ability to write such an article, but I will try to make something happen in the next couple weeks to satisfy this group's needs MitchBauserman (talk) 17:42, 13 December 2009 (UTC) Mitch Bauserman

United Protection Officers of America
ok so the deletion of my page july 7 2009 did not happen try reading things before asserting false statements as facts. in fact three seperate wiki administrators, have singled me out , you not a credible source is what you are telling me i with and ask you delete me based on your administrators obvious bias. hurry up and erase this too, like you di my last message. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seattlecityunion (talk • contribs) 19:42, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
im sorry are you saying that the federal government is not a reliable second source? now what exactly is (and im taking into account here you are from a HEAVILY ANTI-UNION STATE , bias anyone?) reasoning for the federal governament to not be a vaild secondary source?Ill have to make shure the folks at region 19 are aware of this.
your non answer to my first question did not impress me , and if you think I can t read around 3rd grade dodges like that are going to was , im falling over laughing.
So on my own I founded the united protection officers of america ( N.ational L.abor R.elations B.oard case 19-VR-053) this you may or may not realize is in fact the feds.
So I pose this question:
how do you figure , kicking the worlds largest union square in the nuts , taking a political centerpiece from said union's grasp, and ultimatley intefering with the plans of the mayor of the 15th largest city in the united states is unimportant?
I eagerly await your reply. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seattlecityunion (talk • contribs) 04:22, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- Talk page watcher here, and the guy who nominated the article for speedy deletion the second time around. This isn't even a question of sources. You've neglected to establish the notability of the organization, referenced or otherwise. The union you describe appears to be small and localized; we don't put up articles on every local branch of the plumber's union either, even if they are recognized by NLRB. If this is an incorrect assessment, explain the reasons for the notability of this organization, per WP:ORG. Making personal attacks (claiming this is about anti-union bias in Louisiana) is pointless; we assume good faith here, and I've seen nothing to indicate a political tendency of any form in Nawlin's edits.
- Oh, and for the record, I'm a pro-union New Yorker, recently of Seattle. Of course, this bias doesn't affect my edits (this is the first time unions has ever come up actually); a notable union gets an article, a non-notable one doesn't, simple as that. —ShadowRanger (talk|stalk) 17:58, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- sorry but we need to kkep going on this i need to now know why you in fact single me out , nemsa has no information in thier space on "list of trade unions , but no call by you to remove them, the same could be said for SPFPA whos article area is empty and clearly is grounds for A7.
- oh and to be straight forward I am still not certain you understand what the word "list means" , after reviewing it in the dictionary all of your points pertaining to it are clearly invaild.
- so here is the thing I demand the removal of all blank page articles on "list of trade unions" at once ,and argue in certainty that all of your pervious arguments apply to them
- wanna play? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seattlecityunion (talk • contribs) 19:28, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- You weren't singled out, you were noticed on new page patrol (at least, that's how I noticed it). When we identify a new page that qualifies for speedy deletion, we nominate it, but we don't go through every conceivably related article with similar problems to nominate them. Either the other articles slipped by, or they asserted notability that you did not, that's all. Don't take it personally. The bar for being mentioned in a zero detail list is probably a bit lower, so I don't particularly care about NEMSA being listed there, but reasonable people could easily differ. This was never about the list page though; we've only speedied the article specific to your union; we haven't removed them from the list of unions at all, so you're in the exact same position as NEMSA.
- Since the blank page articles on the list are in the same position as you, I'm not sure what you're complaining about.
- Sidenote: I'm heading out of town for the weekend, and I don't think there is much else to discuss that NawlinWiki or myself has not explained. I won't be responding until next Monday at the earliest. —ShadowRanger (talk|stalk) 19:44, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

hi NawlinWiki, I just happened upon Ajax (programming) yesterday and I noticed that you indef move protected it more a year and a half ago. I don't plan on moving it, and I don't think that it should be moved, but... I don't see why it needs to be protected, is all.

- It's up to you really. I'm not watching the page, and I don't plan on doing so, I just found the move protection to be a curious irregularity so I started asking about it. It is probably worth noting that the page does have a somewhat significant number of watchers however, and it seems from the talk page that many of them are still active. That being the case, I wouldn't think that protection would be particularly needed (barring an extraordinary increase in vandalism, for whatever reason). Obviously though, there's no need to go shouting to everyone that the page is now unprotected, of course. ;)

Please write back. --The High Fin Sperm Whale (Talk · Contribs) 19:43, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
- When I deleted the page (back on Jan. 4, 2007), there was no target page. Now that there is a target article at Digital Photography Review, I've restored the redirect (and you could have done the same yourself). Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 19:46, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Urgent request
Hi Nawlin. I saw you're active right now, so I was hoping you could block Special:Contributions/J.d Seraphim Timmeh indefinitely as a sockpuppet of indefinitely banned user AFI-PUNK. See the contribs of Special:Contributions/La Musica De AFI (another sockpuppet) for evidence. I'd bring this up at a noticeboard, but usually J.delanoy blocks these socks and he's not editing right now; and the sockpuppet is vandalizing right now. J.delanoy can explain this in more detail later if you need a better explanation. Thanks. Timmeh 21:45, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
- Nevermind, he's been blocked. Thanks anyway. Timmeh 21:46, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Deleted "They Must Be Russians"
Hi Nawlin, i was looking for "They Must Be Russians" article and sadly found it deleted just a few days before. In my opinion they are an important band (an LP and several 7"´s on relevant record labels). They also appear in an documentary film "Made in Sheffield" (2003 I think), see WIKI article. Maybe you decide for an ReUp? Further communication to stephan.schwank@web.de, if you think, it´s necessary. Thanks.78.54.23.91 (talk) 11:04, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- The page as posted just said, essentially, "This is a band, here are the names of the members, and here are the names of their albums." If you can find reliable independent sources to show that the band meets the notability standards of WP:MUSIC, feel free to repost. NawlinWiki (talk) 13:14, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

This is a bit of boilerplate with which I'm contacting the folks most involved in the original discussion. I have no vested interest in the outcome. Hi, it's been nearly three years, but maybe you remember the fuss over the dab page Les Balsiger and the article Les Balsiger (activist). In a nutshell, to the best of my recollection, a college administrator with the same name as an anti-Catholic activist contacted Wikipedia after attempting to disambiguate himself from the activist. The administrator is a fine person, but as-of-yet non-notable.
In what was more-or-less an official Wikimedia Foundation action by User:BradPatrick, who was the foundation's legal counsel at the time, it was determined that a dab page should be created despite the fact that it didn't fit in with MOS:DABRL. Now a user insists that the Les Balsiger (activist) page be redirected to the Les Balsiger dab page. That is the current state of pages. I didn't agree with the initial decision that we needed a dab page, but I wish to uphold the decision made at the Afd. Should we reopen the Afd, or has the issue run its course?
Here are some links to the relevant history (not necessarily in chronological order): Talk:Les Balsiger (activist), Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Les Balsiger (disambiguation), Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Les Balsiger,Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Les Balsiger (2nd nomination), Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive173#Previously deleted Les Balsiger article reincarnated as a defamatory attack article -- on the wrong target?, and this short note regarding closing the Afd on the dab page.
Brad Patrick indicates that he's no longer to be contacted about Wikipedia legal matters, so I will be e-mailing this message to Mike Godwin via info-en at wikimedia dot org.
If the pages are kept in their current state, a history page merge may be in order and/or the talk pages need to be put in the correct places.
Let's discuss this at Talk:Les Balsiger (disambiguation) to keep it all in once place. Katr67 (talk) 19:00, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for your vigilance in making sure that Wikipedia stays up to the high standards that have been set for it. I can see from your contributions that you play a big role in that process. However, I would request that you review your speedy deletion for the article on LOTROCast. You cite the lack of indication of notability by Wikipedia's guidelines. I would counter that by pointing to several sources I cited while writing up the article. In the references, I included three separate, independent and respected websites (including the mega-MMORPG website massivley.com and YouTube [which distributes LOTROCast's Video content and has previously recognized LOTROCast for high-volume viewers]). These two at least are established enough under the first point of Wikipedia's Notability Guidelines. It also meets point three of the notability guidelines...a few months back it was announced that CyberEars, a major podcast hosting company, would sponsor, oversee, and distribute LOTROCast. I remember that announcement a while back and can go find it if you like. If 'numbers' are what matter, I won't be able to help you there...LOTROCast has not released any listener numbers (but judging from the YouTube videos, I would guess it's in the tens of thousands). I can try and contact the host and see if I can get that information if it is needed. All this taken into account, I would request that you reconsider your decision and reinstate the article. I will accept your decision in either direction.
Thank you for your consideration, Sevey13 (talk) 21:37, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Why did you delete the page for Catoctin Creek Distilling Company? It is a real company providing beverages in Loudoun County, Virginia, USA. The delete note mentions that the article did not indicate the importance of the subject. Guidance on how to correct this would be appreciated. RLC Links
Hi, I note you have deleted a number of links I had recently put on pages for towns in my local community, linking to Renfrewshire Law Centre. You contacted me to say you had made these deletions on the basis that the links constituted advertising. Please note the links were not advertising. The town pages describe local history and current socio-economic conditions, amenities, services etc. Renfrewshire Law Centre is a non-profit making local legal agency that provides important services to the local community. It is supported by local and national government as well as the court system. It is not a commercial organisation and runs according to charitable principles. There seems to be a lack of information in general on Wiki relating to the law centre movement, an important socio-economic development in British legal history over the last 30 years or so. On pages from which you deleted my links, I note you left in tact oler links which DO relate to commercial entities. This seems inconsistent and unfair. Accordingly, I would be grateful if you would reinstate the links or authorise their reinstatement. Kind regards, Jonkid

hatcher murphy disorder
hey, my original page creation was not intended to be promotional, but i understand your logic. so, i have revamped my content and deem it non-promotional. I am a third party and am not affiliated monetarily with the company that discovered this medical disorder. my goal is of an academic purpose and to provide support of this medical discovery through wikipedia. the next entry will not mention the research company or promote any treatment procedure provided by the company. however, i feel it is appropriate to include the research company's website and their youtube channel in the See Also section, because it will prove a simple pathway for people to conduct further research into the topic.
in summation i have removed a large portion of the text which would be considered promotional. I am third party and I have further neutralized the subject.

I think you might have hit the wrong button here. Sockpuppetry and canvassing, yes, but no page move vandalism that I have seen. - 2/0 (cont.) 16:19, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- The edit filter prevented the moves, so they won't show up in the page log. @Nawlin I can't see any harm coming from move protection, but if the edit filter is preventing it, what need is there for the protection? :/ - Kingpin13 (talk) 16:23, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. I also misread that as full-protection, not just move protection. Moving myself to a second cup of coffee now. - 2/0 (cont.) 16:29, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- The move filter is a throttle; it prevented this particular move because it exceeded a limit. Page-move vandals have historically often made multiple attempts to move the same page, so I'm heading this one off. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:59, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Template protected
I saw you protected Template:Judaism. Since it was being vandalised by only one specific editor, and has got no history of vandalism worth mentioning (to my knowledge), I think that the vandalising editor should be blocked, not the template protected. I write this as a request to reconsider. Debresser (talk) 22:42, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Intellitar Page
Hi NawlinWiki. I was wondering if I could get your two cents on revamping said page you took down earlier today. Looking at the page for SitePal, for example, I see that it's mainly discussing the technology that is available instead of the actual company designing it. I use this reference because the technologies are alike. If I made a different page concentrating on the Intellitar (Intelligent Avatar) Platform, focusing on the technology and its capabilities, research, history, theory, etc., would it then be in good standing to post? - Begging your pardon, NW, but I don't think you're right there. It's not a doppelganger account. Doppelgangers are accounts that are created to prevent impersonation, but which do not edit. SoY's intent here is to edit, because he wants to test that his anti-vandalism scripts cope with edits made by editors with unusual characters in their names. - It doesn't appear that this organization is notable per WP:ORG. NawlinWiki (talk) 11:29, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for your quick response. By what criteria do you think that the MARUG is not notable? In my opinion the MARUG is "An organization [that] is generally considered notable" because "it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources." For example, at www.ebfgroningen.nl, http://www.fvog.nl/verenigingen.htm?naam=16 and http://www.rug.nl/feb/Informatievoor/bedrijvenEnOverheden/InformatieVoorBedrijvenStagegevers/careeractivities/Marugcongres200308. A Dutch wikipedia page about the MARUG is available at http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/MARUG. This wiki is insufficient for the growing number of international (English-speaking) people looking for information about the MARUG. Furthermore, the MARUG has "notable and demonstrable effects" on science and education. Markajansen (talk) 12:31, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi. Not that I have a problem with it or anything, but what was this for? I can't find the diff(s), so was the revision deleted or something? Please send me a copy of the article ZODIAC MOTHERFUCKER which you deleted, plus a proper justification for how it meets criteria for speedy deletion (it may be a candidate for AFD, but thats quite different). by proper i mean dont just post a link to WP:Speedy or whatever--Brunk500 (talk) 12:05, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for sending that back to me (User:Brunk500/ZODIAC MOTHERFUCKER). Re: 'blogs are not reliable sources' - i would like to point out that-
- the av club is not a blog, and is a notable source (1.4 million readers a month) which is established by the second link in the article (to the chicago tribune site)
- That links 3, 4, 5, and 6 show separate stories that the AV club has written and published about ZMF. 7 shows an article he contributed to as a 'celebrity commentator' (in the avclubs words).
So this is why im so confused about the speedy deletion. At least 4 stories on someone (i should note btw that i am not zmf..) on a massively popular and respected site (which is NOT a blog) means that while notability might be debated (ie, in a AfD discussion) its doesnt fit at all with WP:SPEEDY.
ALso, for what its worth, i was in the middle of putting in the book reference showing where ZMF is mentioned in "the big rewind" when the page got deleted.

Re: Move-protects
Hi - I saw the note you left me two days ago; thanks for responding on my talk. I also should have commented here about other reasons why you move-protect. Is it just a hobby, where every time you protect a page (not counting page move vandalism) you move-protect it because you like to?
Secondly, the page Amleang is move-protected (since July 25, 2008 by you). Are there any instances when a move-protected page can be lifted because it's not high profile, or if it will not likely receive page-move vandalism? Just curious, thanks! Schfifty3 04:56, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

Filter 102
Please look over my recent changes to Filter 102, as it's a rather large change, and based on the assumption that there was an error in the code that had gone unnoticed for some months. reminder on ZMF
Hi, i was trying to talk to you about the zodiacmotherfucker article, posted a few days ago and havent gotten a response yet. so please scroll up and have a look. ill be more direct with my question this time.. a few days ago you gave your justification for deletion "User:Brunk500/ZODIAC MOTHERFUCKER. I looked at the article again, and didn't see any reliable sources per WP:V that show this anonymous person's notability. Blogs aren't reliable sources"
Now while im sure it was an honest mistake and all, but the Avclub IS NOT a blog. The main claim to notability in the article is the multiple articles on the avclub-written by professional staff writers, with an editor overseeing them- which are about ZMF. so i have a simple question for you- 1. do you agree that you were mistaken in implying that the only sources i had used were blogs? 2. doesnt it follow then that your stated reasons for deletion were irrelevant? --Brunk500 (talk) 03:48, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
please paste to me the section from Wikipedia:V that indicates the avclub cannot be considered a reliable independant source for this subject, and your reasoning. --Brunk500 (talk) 17:23, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
but zmf isnt a paid staff member, or a regular writer, which is how most people interpret the word 'contributor'. by your logic, would avclub articles on say chuck klosterman be considered invalid, because he has written an article for them in the past? what about the other celebrities who contributed to the best of 2008 lists- would the article in which they named their favourite films, as guest contributors, not be valid additiosn to wiki entry? the articles on him started after he became well known, its not a coi thing or anything--Brunk500 (talk) 06:30, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
for what its worth, www.ifc.com isnt a blog either, its a website for a cable channel, its not connected to the avclub in anyway that i know of. the section of the website that article comes from calls itself a 'blog', but only in an effort to be hip or something- its written by a professional writer, vadim rizoz, the website isnt sourced from reader contributions. if you looked at the page you would have seen 2 editors listed on the sidebar. --Brunk500 (talk) 06:39, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Nawlin,
You deleted an article on which I previously denied a speedy deletion request. The rapper is not eligible for A7 because he was once a member in an apparently notable rap group, and the mass AfD pursuant to which this was deleted originally was improperly closed after just one vote instead of being relisted. I'd appreciate it if you could undelete so that it can be put through a proper AfD disussion.

Unreferenced BLPs
Hello NawlinWiki! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 2 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Jacques L. Wiener, Jr. - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Jane and Michael Stern - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Crystal Classics
By deleting an article about Crystal Classics, neither you nor other users will know that the company is the largest independent retailer of fine crystal in U.S. While dixie cups (or worse yet, the bottle) might work in New Orleans, the rest of the educated and wine loving populace would appreciate getting info on the company that supplies them with delicate wine glasses, that are tailored to each and every wine varietal made in the world. I would appreciate you revoking the deletion, and contributing to the article to make it more relevant, which is always the case, by learning the fine art of living with hand made crystal. (Bbergman (talk) 01:17, 5 January 2010 (UTC))
- I've reviewed the deleted article and don't see how it asserts that this company meets the notability standards of WP:CORP. And insulting me and New Orleans doesn't help you any. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:26, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Deletion of "Get Scraped" page
"Get Scraped" is the first release of the very notable progressive house artist Deadmau5 (rated #6 DJ in the world in 2009). Block of User:Kenpp
I don't agree that this user's contributions are vandalism. (I was about to decline the AIV report, but then noticed you had already blocked him.) It's a content dispute; the EL he's posting is not spam, just POV-pushing. I don't see any reason to block the user for vandalism just because he's being a pain; he can always be blocked through WP:AN3 if he keeps edit-warring. Or who knows, maybe he'll actually learn something. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 20:18, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
- I'll be glad to unblock this user if/when they make a reasonable unblock request. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:20, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, sounds good (that's what I would have done, too). Given comments like this, it looks like we won't be losing anyone of value to the encyclopedia if he leaves forever, but I still think it's important to be careful about vandalism blocks and not use them on editors who are just annoying. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 20:22, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
- I'll leave it up to you, of course, but I wonder if you might reconsider. Yes, the user was getting unnecessarily agitated, but he didn't actually do anything all that bad. He was being reverted without explanation, complained about it (quite properly, albeit a bit excitedly), and then got indef blocked for it. That doesn't seem optimal to me.--Jimbo Wales (talk) 21:58, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
- The user has since filed an unblock request so, as promised, I unblocked him. Deletion of Berniard Law Firm
I would like to know why this page was deleted. Content was being worked on and the table of contents was merely created and saved while other work was being done to it. It was deleted because of a lack of content, which should be expected on a new topic unless the whole page is supposed to be developed all at once. Insight/explanation? Bharig (talk) 20:16, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Not just "lack of content" - there was no indication that this firm met the notability standards of WP:CORP. NawlinWiki (talk) 13:26, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Krav Maga Survival
Please explain to me what you mean. In my perception the Krav Maga Survival contribution does not differ from other martial arts articles. Take a look at "Ashihara kaikan". I have made a similar contribution on the Danish WIKI without getting the article deleted. I know I have to brush it of, but i'm a newbee, so I'll need some time to figure out all the codes on wiki.
- We already have an article on Krav maga. Your article appears to be promoting a particular training club. See WP:SPAM. NawlinWiki (talk) 22:38, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Krav Maga Survival II
Saying Krav Maga is like saying Karate. There are a lot of different organisations. Krav Maga Survival is not just Krav Maga, but Krav Maga Survival. My contribution is an article on the Krav Maga Survival organization and the Krav Maga Survival Solution. Krav Maga Survival is not a particular club, but an international organization representet in Denmark, Norway, Germany, Great Britain and USA.
- The article still appears to be promoting the organization - it includes language like "We will present seminars with skilled instructors and masters wo base their teachings on equal ideas - We will present any teacher/seminarholder who can give ideas to make the system even better!!". Please read WP:SPAM and WP:NPOV. NawlinWiki (talk) 22:52, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Krav Maga Survival III
Yes, my article is promoting the Krav Maga Survival organization just like every other Martial Arts article is promoting their specific system. To respond to your extract; this is my way of saying that the Krav Maga Survival Solution is not too proud to learn from other systems. I do not find it fair the the article is deleted without me having a chance to edit the parts that are found unappropiate for WIKI. My contribution is the upstart of the article on Krav Maga Survival, not the final article. If you do not release my article and I start a new one where I try to follow the rules in your understanding - will it then also be deleted at once?
- No, our other articles are not "promoting" specific systems, they are *describing* them in neutral language. See WP:NPOV. If you can revise your draft article so that it is written in neutral fashion, it is not likely to be deleted, at least not by speedy deletion. You should further include reliable independent sources (see WP:V) that show that this group is notable per the standards of WP:ORG. NawlinWiki (talk) 23:09, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Downhill Only Ski Club
The page you have deleted is a beginning effort to see how Wikipedia works. Clearly quickly. I have read MediaWiki and believe I understand it and was hoping to achieve cooperation between Wikipedia and Fotowiki for the purposes of illustrating this subject.
The Club is significant because it was
a. One of the first three English speaking ski clubs ever formed. Their relative creation dates are unknown but it is agreed amongst ski historians that this is the case. The other two are the Kandahar and Berne Boys (a club from the University of Berne). b. It is one of the main stimuli to the development of the winter sports holiday industry in Europe which then transferred to US. c. It is a hotbed for young English speaking ski racer development.
The Club Archivist will be meeting with me in about two weeks and we will be able to provide citations to published works which detail some of these matters. I have merely been preparing the ground.
What is the best way to proceed?

Hi NawlinWiki ! So it passes WP:BAND ("Has had a single or album on any country's national music char", "Has won or been nominated for a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis award."). Hi Nawlin - I do a lot of weight lifting and had heard about this technique which is increasing in popularity in bodybuilding circles, so started doing so research into it. I found various bits of information around the web, but in no one place was there a simple, single summary of it, so for the benefit of others I thought I would put one together using all the information I had collected. DC training is not a branded training routine of any kind that someone would benefit from commercially, it is simply a form of bodybuilding training routine that has become very popular over recent years. I do hope you will reconsider its listing to save other people in my situation from having to do all the same research that I've had to do over the last few days. You might also compare this to the listing for "Body For Life" which is a similar programme, although I might add that does have commercial connotations since it supports the book on the subject. If you won't reinstate it for me, would you mind allowing me to get a copy of what I wrote, since I didn't keep a copy for myself, and I would just find it useful for my own weights routines going forward. By the way, I chose my user name simply because this was the topic I'm writing about. I am in no way connected with this style of training.Dctraining (talk) 09:43, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
The People's Music Awards
Hi, I would like my page to be reconsidered, as i'm new to editing i was unsure of the coding to put the correct information in, i now know the coding. Also it is a noteable awards as it's the first global online unsigned awards, i think thats a good enough reason, they've helped many bands including Kevin Lucas Orchestra (nominated for 5 grammys) and North Of Ping Pong (in talks with EMI) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lucyclicks (talk • contribs) 17:53, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

- You haven't actually given a reason for restoring the article. Anyway, it was deleted because it was just one person's subjective opinion as to which 80s films were "classic". NawlinWiki (talk) 12:53, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

In response to your post on my talk page: FAMAT is a non-profit organization that I am not intending to promote through Wikipedia. It is an organization that hosts Mathematics Competitions to High School students. By clicking on the results page of This Website you can find records to competitions across the state of Florida drawing about 30 schools at a time and involving thousands of students. You can also click on the "Upcoming Competitions" Page to see the coming competitions for this year. Several other Wikipedia articles about schools cite their participation in FAMAT. Here are a few external sources showing notability:
- Topica Listserve
- FAMAT at Stetson University
- Listing of FAMAT as an official division of National Mu Alpha Theta
- Buchholz High School in FAMAT
- Rickards High School in FAMAT
- St Edward's High School in FAMAT
- Lawton Chiles High School in FAMAT
- Palm Harbor University High School in FAMAT
I can find many more references of notable High Schools in participation of FAMAT.
Furthermore, there is nothing indicating that my article's purpose is to mirror the organization's official site. I have written the article personally, citing a quote from a document that explains the history very well. Dragoneye776 (talk) 23:55, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

DC Training
Many thanks for restoring the data for me - that's helpful to me. I would really like to be able to help all those people looking for information on this program but unable to find good sources out there on the web, so would like to try to get this through with you if a way can be worked out. This program is in now way an advert since no-one is making any money trying to promote this training method. I have no connection in anyway to anybody who has developed or used this program in the past. I am simply a bodybuilder who was frustrated at the lack of independent information on this on the web when I was researching it, since it has largely been communicated one-to-one in gyms or on blogs on the web. It is not a commercial programme, it is simply a form of bodybuilding that has become very popular over recent years. Perhaps the following article might convince you of this - it is from www.bodybuilding.com, one of the most popular and respected site on the web Bodybuilding.com article. It also demonstrates the popularity of this in bodybuilding circles. As does the following in 'ironman' magazine which also quatifies its popularity Ironman article I hope to have described the facts of the DC training progam as it stands. In a way its hard to do this without it becoming a bit of a how-to - my aim was to try and write in a factual way rather than a 'you must do X and Y'- any advice on how to improve the style would be most welcome in that regard. I'm happy to try and find more sources - the difficulty is that the program has grown in the web age where almost all communication on the subject is either via word of mouth in gyms or via blogs or online articles. How many more sources would you like to see, and I'll do some reasearch to try and get them? Many thanks for your help on this. Dctraining (talk) 21:32, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

I never saw the article you deleted on Cameron Health, and I don't know if there is some way for me to access the history, so I won't even try. I have prepared one myself that I trust will be adequate. I admit the challenge of writing about a one-trick-pony start-up without violating wikipedia standards is daunting. However, given the potential importance of their innovation, and the seriousness of the business they are in, I thought the company ought to be represented here if only somewhat schematically. If you have problems with it, let me know. I'm going to put it up and hope for the best. Alawa (talk) 00:21, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi. The Wikimedia Foundation has received an e-mail from the author of this document. (Ticket:2010011810036327, fwiw) The letter isn't about the deletion. Since he wasn't notified and is very Wikipedia inexperienced, he doesn't seem to know yet that it was deleted. He's confused about how to upload the images that support the article. I don't think this is a G12. I can understand that it seemed evidently to have been copied from somewhere. It was. :) He's forwarded to us his own document from which the content was taken in the hopes that I can help him extract the images. This one looks like a basic case of OR.

No problem about your having reversed my speedy tag on this -- I'm just wondering if you can point me at something that suggests that referees are notable. It didn't strike me that that was a source of notability and I can't find anything through the sports portal that suggests it, although frankly it was very hard to navigate there and I may have missed something absolutely obvious. Request to revert removal of new article about Entireweb search engine
I am sorry if it was not clear from the contents of this article why it is significant.
When I created this article, I included justification in the edit log rather than in the article itself.
In short, the reason for creating the article were:
1. because the Entireweb search technology is relied upon by 3 other search engines which are already covered in Wikipedia, namely:
2. to support completeness of the article:
It would seem clear to me to be completely in the interests of enhancing the completeness and authoritativeness of Wikipedia that this search engine should be included.
However I do not have a copy of my original edits.
To save me the time in recreating a new article, I would be most grateful if you would revert your delete.
I will then add appropriate supporting text explaining why the article is justified.

and was fully discussed and confirmed notable by Japanese Wikipedia administrators as well as many other media reports that are lined up in his homepage, as a leading person of spiritual healing art.

There are many interviews from Japanese media, which you can see on his HP. I am sorry that the articles are not provided in English but there are many in Japanese.
As you can see (I sincerely ask you do so), he has more than 500 pieces of art works which is one of the largest in number as the work of a single artist.
I sincerely ask you to restore the article.

Why Mom Deserves a Diamond
Nawlin-
Please advise as to how the Why Mom Deserves a Diamond contest can prove it's notability. The Why Mom Deserves a Diamond contest has been an Orange County institution and has touched the lives of over 500,000 people since 1993. The Why Mom Deserves a Diamond contest has verifiably received over 250,000 essays from young students and has published the works of these students to give them an opportunity to share their feelings about their moms to the world. The founder, Michael Watson, has given his life to the cause. He was adopted and began the contest in honor of his adopted and birth mother.
Thank You in advance for you response, Amanda
- It's not enough for you to argue why you think this event is important. You need to show that it is notable per WP:ORG or WP:CORP, as established by reliable independent sources per WP:V. Furthermore, the article as written was essentially advertising, in violation of WP:SPAM. NawlinWiki (talk) 04:44, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

No indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content)."- however, I thought I indicated that the educational organization helps promote practices that can improve learning. Isn't that enough to make the organization important? I have attended the organization's conference in the past and am familiar with their measures. All the user does is create hoaxes about fictional tennis players and tournaments, and add false results to real players and tournaments. Several of the user and user talk pages are about the fictional "Sebastian-Gabriel Vanatoru". I gave a last warning in [9] before the latest hoaxes, and somebody else did at User talk:Ivanovik. I'm an admin but don't work with socks and blocks. Will you handle it? PrimeHunter (talk) 19:33, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
- Note: I think I and others have reverted all the false information these accounts have added to various tennis articles. PrimeHunter (talk) 19:38, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

- The Vanatoru vandal is back. See here: User:Deren222 and contribs by: User talk:92.82.229.190 and User talk:89.123.11.207 Please block. Thank you (Tennis Helper (talk) 17:33, 12 July 2010 (UTC))
Transvirtual
I created the article because this company was referenced in the Visual J++ article. I think this company is mainly notable today because it implemented the J++ Microsoft extensions on the top of the Kaffe virtual machine. There are a lot of links about it on the web, from javalinux.org kaffe, linuxjournal.com, cnet.com, hoise.com, linuxtoday.com, javaworld.com, etc... But maybe it is only notable enough to be put on the Visual J++ article. Hervegirod (talk) 13:38, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
